He had just gotten home and saw that his street was overrun by police officers at a crime scene. A man was stabbed to death in Mr. Lampe's neighborhood near Forest Park. Mr. Lampe had just gotten home when he witnessed the scene and was quickly interviewed by a Newschannel 5 reporter, as picture above. He later commented to the Blast on his experiences that night: "Just have to be smart and watch your surroundings anywhere," he told our reporter. "I feel like that is common sense!" !1

Captain America: Civil War was one of 2016's best superhero movies. Captain America and Iron Man face off with teams of fellow Marvel heroes as they quarrel over an agreement with the United Nations and over the fate of Captain America's old friend and most recent enemy, Bucky Barnes, AKA the Winter Soldier. Not only is it a battle for power and the future of the Avengers - it is a fight for loyalty and trust. Overall, this is an amazing movie. It's jam-packed with exciting superhero action, and the only complaint might be that some of the deaths in the film might be a bit unnecessary. If you haven't seen this phenomenon of the Marvel movie universe, it is most definitely worth the watch!

SPORTS HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK Boys basketball just returned on Sunday from their annual tournament in Springfield. They took third place in the tournament, winning their first and final games, but taking a loss in the second. Their loss was a hard-fought one as the team lost by only eight points to a strong Helias team. The team took away more than just a victory on the court as well: "It was a fun trip, helping the team bond a little bit," said star center Luke Loewenstein. "It was beneficial to play the good competition that was down there and we hope to take what we learned and apply it back home."

TBH‌ - We're over a week into 2017 and there have been no major celebrity deaths as of yet. It seems like a mercy after 2016 managed to claim Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, and Mariah Carey's career all in its final week.

- 2016, however, hasn't left us totally: the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom recently taunted British Prime Minister Theresa May with a tweet including the altright's new favorite hate symbol, as categorized by the Anti-Defamation League. That image, of course, was Pepe the Frog.

- We here at the Pioneer Blast would like to thank you, our faithful readers, for your support. Because of you, we were able to increase our staff size by twenty-five percent from four people to five!

- Although it may appear that we are doing what we can to keep President-elect Donald Trump honest by including him frequently in the TBH section, we must admit that most of the times he is featured here are due to deadlines running short and the fact that Trump is most certainly the easiest target we've ever had.
