EXPLORE SOUTH AFRICA @ PINELANDS LIBRARY 2019 by Adelia Delmore On Saturday 3rd August, Pinelands Library celebrated the conclusion of this year's successful Reading Programme themed Explore South Africa @ Pinelands Library 2019. For five weeks, the little readers expanded their knowledge and improved their reading skills, managing to surpass last year's total of 1 282 books read, by 592, making this year's total 1 874 books! In the 7-9 year old age group, Josiah McGill was the winner with 154 books under his belt. In the 10-12 year old age group, Anna Gibbon, the winner in 2018 and also in 2017, once again rose to the top with 150 books to her credit. The readers and invited guests enjoyed the happy interaction with special guest author, Sihle Nontshokweni, who introduced her wonderful new picture book titled 'Wanda'. Everyone enjoyed her vivacious company and we wish her well in the literacy world. A big thanks to the special guest author Sihle Nontshokweni, the sponsors, Topline
