DJ Smokin Jo at the Tav Mekhael Once again, DJ Electric Button did not disappoint when he performed to a full house at the Karratha Tavern on Saturday, April 9 with the help of DJ Smokin Jo Mekhael. Although Smokin Joe Mekhael only played his first club gig in May 2008, he has since then risen through the Sydney scene. DJ Electric Button aka Frankie Button said he has been endearing himself to thousands of awestruck fans, not only in Sydney but across the world. “He has established himself as the most electrifying man in dance music today,” he said. “He has done this by amazing crowds with his infallible track selection, his unique ability to lead and interact with a crowd as well as the fact that he has more energy and explosiveness behind the decks than any other DJ on the planet.” Smokin Joe Mekhael has toured Ibiza and the U.K. in July of 2009, playing at Pure Pleasure Experience in Ibiza and two shows at the world famous Sankey’s nightclub in

Manchester. Meanwhile, closer to home in Sydney, Smokin Joe Mekhael has held down residencies at Sounds on Sunday, Candy's Apartment, Shipwrecked, The Bourbon and Castle Hill Tavern as well as playing regular gigs at Sapphire, Ruby Rabbit, YU/ SOHO, Trademark, Moulin Rouge, Le Panic, Favela, Boutique, Mars Lounge, The Kings Cross Hotel, Bondi Surf Club, The Swiss Grand, The Eastern, The Steyne (Manly) and Baroque (Katoomba). “Smokin Joe Mekhael is a true entertainer and the night went off, there was a great response from the audience for the music we were performing,” Button said. “I actually found him over Facebook after he was recommended to me from a guy in Port Hedland, so I sent him a message seeing if he was interested in doing some gigs. “He has never been in Western Australia before so we decided to do gig after gig all over the state.” DJ Electric Button will be at the Karratha Tavern for a Dubstep Electro gig on May 7.
