KITCHEN DESIGN I’m planning a renovation for a kitchen in an excisting house buildt in 1932. The house is a loghouse with wooden facade and brickroof. The house was damaged in a fire in the 50’s, it was restored with some chages in the apperance such as mansard roof beeing changed to ridge roof and enlargement of windowses. The plan is to renovate the whole house, starting from the outside moving towards inside. The renovation of the kitchen has to wait for it’s turn, but eventually it will be done as well. The philosophy behind all renovation is trying to maintain the athmosphere of an old building. Building is beeing done as much as possible using traditional techniques and materials.

FLOOR PLAN 1:50

CONSEPT OF NEW KITCHEN The kitchen plan is inspired by the old kitchen sink fixture, which was probably build during the 40’s or 50’s. The new kitchen should have the same charm combined with modern technical solutions and functionality. • The old fixture will be restored and moved to the other side of the room. It will no longer serve as a sink but as a worktop. • Two cupboards in the corner will be removed and replaced with more practical storage. • Two doors leading to the veranda will be replaced by one new door with better insulation. • The cupboard to the left of the door will be removed and replaced with a narrow window to the veranda. • Two embedded cupboards will be restored.
