A letter from our president Greetings and War Eagle, The Pi Chapter has been working very diligently this summer to keep things running smoothly, and to get things ready for the fall semester. Of course, the excitement grows every single day, since the arrival of Auburn Tiger Football!!! Our main tasks of the summer were helping with the annual summer band camps, preparing for the KKPsi/TBS National Convention, and building a new pregame tunnel for the band practice field. We really wanted to provide the band with something that will not only last a long time, but also something that the AUMB could take pride in. I am exceptionally proud of all the work and time our brothers have put in this summer! The band department is continuing the work we started at this years preseason camp. We’re extremely excited about the first performance of our first show—which celebrates 50 Years of Bond. The show features popular chart from Goldfinger, Thunderball, Casino Royale, Skyfall and of course, Live and Let Die. The marching band isn’t the only ensemble that is doing great things; Dr. Good recently found out the Symphonic Band has been selected to perform at the 2014 College Band Director’s National Association. This is the first time any of Auburn’s Ensemble’s have been selected to perform at this honorable event. The Pi Chapter is starting the fall semester with 41 active brothers. We are pleased to have representation from all sections and many with leadership roles. Our goals as we work into the fall are to prepare for this year’s Alumni Banquet on Friday, October 11th; and the 5th Annual Live.Laugh.Run 5K, October 6th. As you can see, there are a ton of things going on at Auburn and with the Pi Chapter! We sincerely hope that you will stop by and say hello if you’re in town! AEA and War Eagle! Madison Argo

Summer Service Pi was given the opportunity to fund the building of a more sustainable tunnel for the AUMB to utilize for years to come!

< Brothers at our annual field day to prepare the band field for pre-season camp! <

Many of Pi's brothers were Involved in Auburn University Summer Band Camps! We were able to lead groups in social activities, campus tours, and connect with many middle and high school band members.

Advising Chapter Liaison to UA Colony Update Brothers, As many of you know, the Pi Chapter was honored to be chosen as the Big Brother chapter for the colony at the University of Alabama. As their Big Brother, some of our duties include providing advice to the colony, introducing them to the traditions and ideals of Kappa Kappa Psi, and administering the three degrees of ritual. Our advising chapter committee has taken these tasks to heart and have been praised at the highest of levels for their diligent work thus far. At the end of Spring semester, over eighty brothers from all over the SED joined us at Goodwin Hall for a workday followed by the Ritual of the First Degree. At this workday, the colonists worked towards their goal of becoming a chapter through workshops devoted to documents (constitution, MEP, and Petitioning Document), committees (service, fundraising, and membership), and fraternity history. The degree was administered without any issue, and all the brothers enjoyed a meal and fellowship afterwards here in Auburn at Chili's. Looking ahead, we will be meeting as a committee soon for the first time in this new semester to further plan our actions with the colony. They are working feverishly and excitedly, so we may be completing another degree soon. However, we may not begin planning a degree until the checklist for that degree has been completed and approved by National Headquarters so there is no timetable for their installation as a chapter should they complete all the necessary steps. We are also excited to be working with new SED and National officers this semester! If you have any questions regarding the colony, please don't hesitate to email me! I would love to share with you! AEA! And WAR EAGLE! Gerritt Keaton keaton@auburn.edu
