After touring Ten Fé’s debut album, Hit The Light (over 20M Spotify streams), Leo Duncan and Ben Moorhouse returned to London knowing something had changed. What began as a duo, evolved on the road into a fully formed band. Their sophomore album, Future Perfect, Present Tense, is a poignant, uplifting meditation on everything that’s brought the band to this point, and all they’ve left behind. It captures a more close-knit, lush sound of five people playing together in a room. The intricate CSNY-influenced fourpart harmonies that were honed on the road fuse with the energy captured in their live shows to create a sound that's anthemic and rooted in personal chemistry. Setting 10 weeks to complete, it ultimately took 10 months. From a winter in Oslo, to a summer in London, the band battled writer’s block, eviction from their studio and vocal exhaustion. The result is a record about time: the time it takes, the time it took, the time yet to come. Future Perfect, Present Tense is the sound of a band coming of age.

Into Red sees FEWS dialing up the intensity with a record boasting a heavier, innovative though nonetheless catchy dynamic than the blueprint of their debut. It was written, recorded and realized in the underbelly of Malmo, Sweden with Joakim Lindberg (Hater) and mixed courtesy of James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Magic Gang). As band co-founder Frederick explains, "Making these songs is by far the most personal thing I've ever experienced. We wanted to make an album that actually meant something and take it to the next level, no restrictions or limits. With these songs I wanted to see how honest I can be with myself without it getting too uncomfortable." (Fellow co-founder) David said, "Into Red is like a lorry going 300 kph on ice almost losing control, which sums it up pretty great."
E.B. The Younger To Each His Own
"What came before you is why you're here now, so embrace both the past and the present." Eric Brandon Pulido, frontman of Texan legends Midlake, embraces both past and present times for his glorious debut solo album, To Each His Own. Under his new enigmatic alias E.B. The Younger, he delivers a deeply personal record, rooted in his love of warm rock, folk and country hues that came of age in the 1970's, but woven with contemporary recalibrations. Pulido's lyrics equally look back and forth, philosophizing about his place in the world, the choices he's made, and where they have taken him.

Will Burns & Hannah Peel Chalk Hill Blue
F4p 86ec) #(#&s
DIGITAL ONLY RIVERTONE10DIG
Chalk Hill Blue is the first collaboration from poet Will Burns and musician and composer Hannah Peel. Burns, a Faber New Poet in 2014, is poet-in-residence for Caught by the River. He first met Peel around the time of her 2016 LP Awake But Always Dreaming. They connected through shared explorations of dementia, memory loss and family in their respective work. In Summer 2018, Burns and Peel finally began exploratory recording sessions at Erland Cooper's London studio. Burns's words and Peel's sounds – deftly fused by Cooper's sympathetic production – channel the minute shifts in the air and atmosphere of a place, and their resulting emotional effects. As sensitive and finely observed as it is visionary, Chalk Hill Blue's electronic ruralism channels the lives threaded through the chalk landscapes of Southern England.
Budapest Festival Orchestra & Ivรกn Fischer MAHLER Symphony No.7
Ivรกn Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra conclude their highly acclaimed Mahler cycle with Symphony No.7. Often referred to as "The Song of the Night," this subtitle was not Mahler's own. It grew out of the composer's comparison of the first movement to Rembrandt's painting The Night Watch. The symphony's structure and scoring are unique. Although listed as being in E minor, the work returns to the ideal of 'progressive tonality' which Mahler had abandoned in the Sixth.

Isabelle Faust BACH Violin Concertos Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin
This recording featuring Isabelle Faust and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin explores works by Johann Sebastian Bach that were, in one form or another, originally written or conceived as violin showpieces. Along with the famous Violin Concertos BWV 1041-43, a selection of of overtures, trio sonatas and concertos now associated with other instruments, are performed here on violin as the composer intended. Hearing Faust play the famous "Badinerie" from the second Orchestral Suite (normally played on flute) is a reminder that the author of The Well-Tempered Clavier was also a virtuoso violinist.

The wealth of compositions using the sensuous and highly charged texts of the Song of Songs is incredibly vast and rich. In the course of compiling this recording, Suzy Digby rediscovered music that she had known for years, was introduced to pieces that she didn't know existed, and was privileged to commission a couple of works to add to this wonderful legacy of compositional material. Taken as a whole, the collection of pieces gathered here presents a varied and enlightening journey through the Song of Songs, and through the musical language of different centuries. These performances from the ORA Singers, of both the wellknown works and new discoveries, will encourage listeners to delve further into this miraculous repertoire.
Cuarteto Casals Revelations BEETHOVEN Complete String Quartets Vol.2
Cuarteto Casals presents the second volume in their new complete cycle of the Beethoven quartets. The group devised an innovative structural arrangement for its recordings. The works are not presented in the typical grouping of early, middle and late periods: rather they are arranged according to each quartet's place within Beethoven’s musical development. This ingenious juxtaposition reveals as never before how Beethoven's superhuman struggle for perfection gave birth to a musical language of breathtaking originality without precedent in this genre, of which Beethoven is the uncontested master.

On their first recital for harmonia mundi, soprano Stéphanie d'Oustrac and pianist Pascal Jourdan perform music by three titans of the Romantic period. Liszt, Berlioz and Wagner each made decisive contributions to the evolution of the lied. Although not known as a song composer, Berlioz wrote more than fifty songs - many of them supreme examples of his unsurpassed gift for melody. His Les Nuits d'été take on a completely different dimension when heard in their original setting for voice and piano. Wagner's five Wesendonck-Lieder are among the the most famous cycles in the history of the lied, and the Liszt selections heard here exemplify his supreme mastery of the genre.

Sir Simon Rattle and the London Symphony Orchestra mark 150 years since the death of Hector Berlioz with this recording of his tempestuous oratorio La damnation de Faust - a work born of the composer’s obsession with Goethe’s legendary tale. It’s a fable that defies definition – both a tragedy and dark comedy, with a central character both wise and despicable, and a play and epic poem in one. Sir Simon Rattle says, "This is a tribute to the Orchestra, and a tribute to Colin Davis. All of my generation learnt our Berlioz from Colin and the LSO. I've grown up with this music, and as a weird kid in the music library where my sister worked, the Berlioz Treatise on Instrumentation was one of my bibles."
London Symphony Orchestra & Sir Simon Rattle GRIME Woven Space
DIGITAL ONLY LSO0323D
The acclaimed British composer Helen Grime makes her LSO Live debut with the world premiere recording of Woven Space, a piece inspired by the willow sculptures of artist Laura Ellen Bacon. Originally beginning life as Fanfares, a single movement that marked the start of Sir Simon Rattle's first concert as Music Director of the London Symphony Orchestra, Woven Space is part of the LSO's New Music Britain series. It was particularly inspired by Bacon's own piece of the same name, which the composer discovered entwined amongst trees in the gardens of Chatsworth House. "Laura's Woven Space wraps itself around the inner trees and creates a really different space within the sculpture, which I thought was an amazing idea. So the idea of having an inner space and an outer space was really important to me when writing this piece. It very much should feel like you've got inside the piece, that you're surrounded by it and you're in amongst all of these things."
