1. BSP launches ‘Money Matters for Kids’ exhibit BY: ALAN C. ORTILLANO Sunday 1st of December 2013

LOS BANOS, Laguna, Dec. 1 (PIA) --The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) launched the „Money Matters for Kids (MMK)‟ exhibit at the Sunken Lobby of the Student Union Building, University of the Philippines, this municipality last November 26. According to the BSP, MMK is a key component of BSP‟s integrated economic and financial learning program designed to impart lessons in saving, spending and sharing to students 12 years old and younger in an interactive way. It also promote greater financial awareness and boost financial literacy, which is essential to sustainable economic growth. Assistant vice governor, Dr. Johhny Noe E. Ravalo of the BSP financial supervision research and consumer protection sub-sector led the launching of the exhibit along with UPLB Vice Chancellor Enrique L. Tolentino Jr. representing UPLB Chancellor Rex Victor O. Cruz and officials of the Department of Education. Grades 5 & 6 pupils of Lopez Elementary School from barangay Batong Malaki attended the event. In his message, Dr. Ravalo stressed to the pupils the importance of saving money for tomorrow at an early age.
