Being the president of the Confederation of Local Chief Executives in Mindanao (ConFed), Gov. del Rosario vowed to use his influence to bring the peace and development concerns of the LGUs in the Island to higher arena of decision-making. As chair of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC)-XI, del Rosario further offered to help the peace-building efforts of the government by mulling localized peace talks with the communist and separatist movements in the region. In line with the celebration of the governor’s 77th birthday, the province held its second community

health and social services outreach program that benefitted more than a thousand residents in Barangay New Cortes, New Corella town on August 26, 2011. The convergence initiative pooled the resources of the province, the LGU, army, police and various government agencies in delivering, among others, medical consultation and services, surgical outreach, dental services, urine exam, distribution of fruit tree seedlings, anti-malaria mosquito nets, slippers, and toothbrushes. A milk-feeding program was also launched for the pre-schoolers of the barangay, which will run for the next 60 days. The provincial government also held a fellow-

ship activity for its officials and employees on August 27, 2011 at the Beach View Resort in Pindasan, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province. OIC-Provincial Administrator Norma Lumain said the event is an appropriate opportunity to refurbish the working synergy, camaraderie and unity among the provincial offices, who are the forerunners of the executive and legislative branches in the delivery of good public governance services The different clusters of the Capitol prepared an entire day of entertaining activities and presentations to highlight the occasion.
