PSB Thumb Brace Properties The PSB Thumb Brace provides support for the thumb when the thumb joint has become unstable as a consequence of a sprain to the joint ligaments. PSB Arm Brace Properties The PSB Arm Brace exerts pressure on the lower arm muscles, relieving pressure on the tendons attaching these muscles to the elbow joint. The attachment points are where pain is felt. Thanks to its design and the silicon strips on the inside, the sport brace cannot slip during wear. The design and the materials guarantee optimal user comfort. Measuring for size The PSB Arm Brace is available in one size. The following points are important when fitting a PSB Arm Brace: • Fitting is made easier by taking the tape through the fastening ring beforehand. • Subsequently the brace can be pushed up the arm until it is just under the elbow. In the case of a tennis elbow, the pad must be positioned on the outside of the arm and in a golf arm on the inside. The plastic fastening ring is on the outside of the arm and thus not in the crook of the elbow. • The pad must be worn about 6 cm under the elbow bone, on the fleshy part of the wrist extensors, or wrist flexors. Due to its low volume this sport brace can easily be worn inside shoes or trainers, even combined with shin pads. An important factor is the carefully designed tape construction, which immediately inhibits the ankle joint if over-inversion* threatens, i.e. which is the case in most ankle traumas. The sport brace also exerts pressure around the entire knee joint, making it feel more stable to the wearer. The sport brace contains a pad (stiffener) that supports the patella thereby alleviating any possible additional patella problems. Onset: In pregnancy, during labour, following delivery, insidious or sudden. Distribution of pain: Pubis, groin, medial aspect of thighs – unilateral/bilateral frequently accompanied by low back, sacroiliac and suprapubic pain. The ‘Foot-Up’ is a lightweight ankle orthosis, designed to provide dynamic support for drop foot or similar complaints. This simple orthosis not only provides visible improvement in the patient’s gait, by providing support the moment the foot is raised, but it is simple to fit and practically invisible when worn. Foot-up combines two separate parts; an ergonomic ankle wrap, which connects to a plastic inlay that fits between the tongue and the laces of a shoe. The attachment fastens to the ankle wrap by a strong elastic strap with a quick release clip. The ankle wrap is made from a breathable three-layered structure, which makes it comfortable to wear for long periods, without causing irritation to the skin or impeding the foot’s freedom of movement.
