ART MEETS LIFESTYLE The latest hangout for Bangkok’s art crowd is undoubtedly the trendy new W District on Sukhumvit Road, close to Soi 69. Art dominates the entire complex, with hundreds of 2D and 3D artworks positioned throughout. Hof Art is now based here, providing a large exhibition space for the latest paintings and sculptures, and an art residency for like-minded individuals to come together to share ideas. Beat Hotel is also located here and is now taking bookings under the theme of “stay in the art of Bangkok”. Each area has been given the stamp of individuality by leading Thai artists, who have each been designated a room, and here they have decorated the walls in their own inimitable way. As the sun sets W District’s social scene lights up, with an open air dining zone being serviced by dozens of food and drink kiosks. A profusion of wall murals and sculptures also decorate this area. Mr.Wichai Poolworaluk, President of Woraluk Property Company, founded the W District project: the new lifestyle mall in downtown Sukhumvit Road, right next to the Phra Khanong BTS station. He understands the importance of contemporary art in various fields, and also supports artists who love to be creative. Consequently, he set up a project for Hof Art to saturate this downtown area with artwork with the aim to bring in not only art schemes created for artists to show their work but also calling on the local community to devote a space for the benefit of Thai society.

Anantara Phuket Layan Resort Getting back to nature was never intended to be as luxurious as a visit to the brand new Anantara Phuket Layan Resort and Spa turns out to be. A deviation from the island’s main west coast thoroughfare takes you down a discreet meandering side road that ultimately delivers you to the ultra-tranquil Layan Beach. The resort is set on a hillside, giving majestic views across the bay to the nearby Kala island, and the sand spit by which it can be reached on foot. Direct access to the beach is provided, and an early morning stroll will see you wander alone with your thoughts. A luxury collection of 30 rooms and suites are on site, as well as 47 pool villas in seven uniquely impressive styles. Choose between a Premier Room, a Deluxe Sea View Suite, a Deluxe Pool Villa, a Sala Pool Villa, a Beachfront Pool Villa, a Beachfront Layan Pool Villa, a Two Bedroom Family Pool Villa, a Two Bedroom Pool Villa or an Anantara Pool Villa.

You can spend a lazy hour or more sampling these delights on the poolside sun deck, overlooking the bay. Only recently completed, the spa sits halfway up the hillside in a delightfully designed rustic yet ultra- contemporary complex. Here you can put your well being and beauty desires in the healing hands of well-trained therapists in one of seven luxurious treatment suites. Romance is high on the agenda at Anantara Phuket Layan Resort, and it is not surprising to discover that the establishment features its very own wedding chapel. This is also located on the hill and offers magnificent views of the Andaman Sea and Layan Beach for up to 50 wedding guests. Alternatively, a ceremony on the resort’s private beach allows you to invite up to 150 guests. Anantara Phuket Layan Resort and Spa is destined to become one of Phuket’s most sought after holiday destinations. It is the perfect retreat for anybody wishing to get away from the crowds while still being able to pamper oneself.

Guests can dine beachside or atop the hill, with Sala Layan and Dee Plee providing the best of international and Thai cuisine.
