Dear Friends of Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District, All the rain has been wonderful but I now have my sights set on warm sunny weather heralding the summer months ahead. Now is the time to plan for family BBQs, vacations, and activities that will keep your kids active and engaged over the summer. Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District can help you plan your summertime fun! We have tons of summer activities, events and camp options to fit recreation into your busy schedule. Dreading “I’m Bored?” from your kids this summer? Sign up early for our I’m-boredbusting summer camps. This year, we are hosting our first Summer Camp Expo on March 11 at the Pleasant Hill Community Center. This is an opportunity for you and your kids to meet our instructors, ask questions, see demonstrations and survey all the choices available for kids ages 3 and up. As a bonus, you will receive 10% off camp registration if you sign-up at the Camp Expo event. That could save you up to $250 per camper for a summer full of amazing activities. Summer is also the perfect time to plan a family gathering. Let us find the perfect spot for you to show-off your Master BBQ skills. Did you know we have picnic areas for groups of any size? I urge you to call our staff for assistance in choosing the perfect picnic area or facility for your celebration. One of my favorite picnic locations is at our newly renovated Pleasant Oaks Park. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for our signature events this summer. They are listed on page 35. I hope to see you there! Cheers, Michelle Lacy, General Manager
