City of Coronado Holiday Closures Coronado, CA (December 19, 2011) – Coronado City Hall will be closed Monday, December 26, in observance of the Christmas holiday. Additionally, City Hall offices will be closed Monday, January 1, 2012, for New Year’s Day. Certain City departments and services will have varying hours of operation during the holidays: Coronado Public Library will be closed on Christmas Eve, Saturday, December 24, and Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25. The Library will be open with a normal schedule on Monday, December 26. The Library also will be closed on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31, and New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1. The Library will be open with a normal schedule on Monday, January 2. Coronado Recreation Services will be closed on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, and New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1. For the next two Saturdays, December 24 and 31, the Community Center and Tennis Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Aquatic Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and the Skatepark will be open from 10 a.m. to dusk. Recreation Services will resume normal hours Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2. Coronado Municipal Golf Course is open during the upcoming holidays. Public Services reports that EDCO will have curbside Christmas Tree Collection in single-family residential zones. Collection will occur on normal trash collection days between Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 16, 2012. Trees must be cut into four-foot lengths and placed in the green waste containers. Drop-off containers also are available during the same period at the Glorietta Bay Park Boat Ramp parking lot and the Coronado Cays parking lot across from the fire station. There will be no disruptions in City trash collection. However, street sweeping normally set for Monday, December 26, and Monday, January 2, will be picked up the following days. “Parking Meter Holidays” remains in effect through Friday, December 30. Parking in all commercial zones is free. However, time-limit restrictions will be enforced. ###
