Middle School Sports

ight sports were offered to PC middle schoolers. A pair of girls’ teams highlighted the middle school season in 201819 for the Cougars. Josh Perez won Coach of the Year honors as his first-year wrestling team won the Canyon Athletic Association tournament championship. Kathryn Munos and Raquel Nowakowski won individual championships to pace the Cougars to the team title. Basketball also won a league championship with the girls’ team making a late season run through the Cactus Christian Schools League Small Schools Division to win the tournament title with a 31-22 win over Christ Greenfield. The team finished 7-4 overall. In golf, sixth grader J.J. Brigowatz competed at the top of the Cactus Christian Schools League during the regular season, winning five of the six 9-hole events (he placed 4th in the other event). He then capped off the season by winning the two-day, 18-hole championship tournament. Brigowatz still has two more years of middle school golf remaining.
