“I am a 20 year old South-East Asian fashioner/maker who is currently studying architecture in Singapore. I decided to plant my roots here because of the highly diverse cultures and heritages. An avid communicator, I enjoy forming connections between people and nding bonds between objects. I love music, food and being around diverse personalities. I believe in the symphony of man and its coexisting structure. I entertain clients, I like making them proud. To make them happy is the experience I am always striving for.

The Weld

Building Type: Eco resort | Location: Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

The Weld was designed based on the idea that the people with power, Corporate companies, leave the biggest impact on the conservation of the environment. The Weld encourages moral and intellectual improvement based on the edificationof mother nature. The Weld not only brings you closer to nature, but lets you heal it. This is done through The Weld’s main programme, the Scavenger Hunt. Based on conservatory concepts, this luxurious camp brings an experience of peaceful team bonding. It welds you with your peers, nature, as well as yourself..

The Chameleon

Building type: Community Centre | Location: Segar Park, Singapore

Segar Park holds an active community, mostly younger working adults in their 20s-30s and seniors, a space with potential to incorporate vegetation into my design, and a vibrant & diverse wildlife and materials. Through this, we can transform the Segar/ Fajar area into a neighbourhood with abundant lush greenery and a clean environment in order to make life more pleasant for the people and perhaps even bring them together. Seeing how appreciative and attached the residents are to the park has served to motivate me to come up with a design that will attract large groups of people to come together and improve the users’ but not hinder the open space by having a large building footprint.

Playing with materials: Using dark timber, a material that ages in time, becomes more beautiful as it matures. This brings about the idea of “Active Ageing Aging. The idea of capturing the beauty of ageing through the use of dark timber. Sustainability: A water collection system located at the tip of the green roof

Redesigning Registry of Marriage (ROM) building Singapore “Loving someone for who they are can only be possible if there is a 100% HONESTY. That is my meaning of marriage. This version of the ROM building shows the same uprfront honesty through showing its raw materials. Bringing in new flowing structures which are celebrated by showing them as they are. Imperfect-ly beautiful. From exposed white brick for the solemnisation rooms to the brass skylight structure, this ROM is designed to give the feeling of truth in marriage. Designed based on concepts of privacy and senses.

The owner of the building this is design for is a family of 6: a father who requires his own drum studio : Hence the studio is disconnected at the front of the house to reduce the noise level of the house as well as for easier access for his students. 2 grandparents (1 wheelchair bound) : Requiring me to design using Universal Design considerations. A mother that requires her own office: the need for a quiet focus driven office. 2 children: One that requires a play pen accessible to the grandparents to be taken care of while the parents are away.

Landscape Architecture

Concept: To fuse humanity with its environment through the use of ediication. Ediication is the improvement of a persons morals and knowledge. Many sustainability features on site from the use of an elevated decking to the use of nearby mud for the mud spa. For softscape design, a vertical garden is used as well as involving the native trees in the design process of the buildings S o f t

History & Theory of Western Architecture

The City-State

The City-State is a playscape designed purely

with the golden ratio, to emulate the silhouette of a booming city seen by a person from a significant distance. I created this design through layering two golden ratio shapes together and placing another one beside it. The shape is then formed by playing around with level changes. These level changes can make for interesting climbing activities for both children and adults. This community space can be used for studying, playing and also to be admired as an art work. I wish to connect all three of the tallest points with a climbing net, seen on playgrounds, connecting the three peaks. I also wish to make the surfaces out of a soft material so people can rest and sit comfortably.

Bamboo as a prominent building material

A bamboo workshop was held in Bandung, Indonesia where me and my classmates went to learn more about the abundant build capabilities of bamboo. Working closely with Dr. Andrea Fitrianto who is renowned for his projects involving bamboo structures. The experience has been eye opening as to how easily bamboo, a plant, can be manipulated to form a super structure that can carry its own load. I am looking forward to experimenting with bamboo on future projects. Not only is it sustainable as bamboo is an invasive plant, it is also pleasing to the eye due to its unique round shape and colour.
