Tammy Mentzer Brown, who grew up at the Presbyterian Home for Children in Talladega, returned to Talladega in September for the launch of her new book “Happenstance.”

In her earlier book, “A Teacher’s Prayer,” published in 2012, Tammy detailed her young experiences in a troubled home, the move to the Presbyterian Home in her early teens, and her experiences in high school and beyond. In the years since, she has taken that book and its hopeful message of God’s grace into churches and workshops with lectures and a devotional guide.

“Happenstance” is Ms. Brown’s first foray into the world of Young Adult Fiction. It follows the ins and outs of young adults who make decisions that determine the fates of their hearts, at that moment in time. The book has been classified as Young Adult Fiction/Romance/Clean & Wholesome.

The launch was a homecoming for a much-loved member of the Talladega community and many friends of the author dropped by to visit. The launch was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Talladega.
