Message from Supreme President Pedro C. Vieira, Jr.
Once again thank you, all members for the support, the friendship, the delicious meals, the great conversations and respect you all showed to me and my wife. She was right when she told me, you are going to love all this travel, you are going to meet wonderful people and delicious meals prepared by our members. Of course, there is always exceptions and we encountered one in this process. No problem. And last but not the least, I just want to thank from the bottom of my heart for all the generous donations you gave to my charity – The American Cancer Society. Thank you and God Bless you all.
Dear Officers and Members; This time I am sitting in front of my computer to let you know about my last official visits and other events. Let’s start out where I left off. We travelled to Artesia on September 14th to be there and ready to spend a great afternoon with our friends from that lovely city. The drive was very nice, traffic was heavy but nothing too much, the weather was good, and we got to our hotel where we rested and enjoyed the evening.
In Fraternalism Pedro C. Vieira 2018-2019 PFSA Supreme President
Then, the next day we went to Artesia and had a great lunch, great conversation with friends and the afternoon was very well spent. The drive back home was over 7 hours since there was an accident and road work on highway 5 in the Grapevine, so we got home around 1:00 a.m. No problem. After this visit we drove to Modesto to attend the Inauguration of the new PFSA office. The building is beautiful, the offices are spacious, the location is right downtown, plenty of parking, shops and restaurants. The day was filled with speeches, entertainment, ribbon-cutting and of course very interesting conversations with lots of old friends, people we have not seen in a while. And, to end a great day the food was delicious, and we had a performance from a group from the beautiful island of Terceira. The next day we had the pleasure to travel to Hilmar to have a double official visit with Councils 11 Turlock and 26 Stevinson/Turlock/Hilmar which the theme was Vindimas. The hall was very well decorated with tablecloths from our islands, there was a lot of grapes and other motifs of Vindimas. The food was delicious, the attendance was very good and there were many Past Supreme Presidents attending and it was a lot of fun. We even had a demonstration on how to make wine and according to the “workers” involved in the process, the result was very good. I take this opportunity to thank both Councils for the great visit, the generous donations to my charity and I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you attend our convention in November. 5
