Concern from the committee was addressed once again that all students were not required to take a

business class before leaving high school. Committee suggested once again taking this issue up with local Board of Education Members and administrators. 2. Discussion with Greg Pitts (Department of Labor) on how all students should be prepared for the workplace with soft skills as well as academic/technology skills. All committee members present were thrilled with our Georgia Best Practices that we have implemented into our advanced classes and wanted us to be sure to recognize these students for their hard work in gaining this certificate. Mr. Pitts also gave us an update on the new program EMPLOYGEORGIA.COM to help individual find jobs. We plan to introduce our students to this program. 3. Glenn Toney, our post-secondary representative, shared with us the need for all students to be proficient in Microsoft Office to be successful at college and in the workplace. 4. Committee added their input on the update of the career tech building and career tech programs. 5. The committee made suggestions such as socials, inviting the middle school FBLA students to one of our high school FBLA meeting or possibly our high school FBLA students attending one of their meetings in order to get more students involved at the middle school level.
