Phylum: chordata

Class: Actinopterygii

Order: Perciformes

Family: Scombridae

Geography / Habitat: Atlantic bluefin are native to both the western and eastern Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Mediterranean Sea. Life Strategy: Atlantic bluefin tuna reach maturity relatively quickly. The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna can grow to 15 feet long and weigh over 1,000 pounds.Their coloring, metallic blue on top and shimmering silver-white on the bottom, helps camouflage them from above and below. They can swim up to 50 miles per hour when pursuing prey. Food / Feed Strategy: The Atlantic bluefin tuna typically hunts small fish and invertebrates such as sardines, herring, mackerel, squid and crustaceans. Their coloring, metallic blue on top and shimmering silver-white on the bottom, helps camouflage them from above and below. They can swim up to 50 miles per hour when pursuing prey.

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Actinopterygii

Order: Tetraodontiformes

Family: Balistidae

Geography / Habitat: Found in the Eastern Pacific from Mexico to Chile. They inhabit tropical and subtropical oceans throughout the world, with the greatest species richness in the Indo-Pacific. Most are found in relatively shallow, coastal habitats, especially at coral reefs

Life Strategy: Triggerfish lay their demersal eggs in a small hole dug in the sea bottom. Some triggerfish species can be quite aggressive when guarding their eggs. Triggerfish viciously defend their nests against intruders.

Food / Feed Strategy: These bottom dwellers dig out prey, such as crabs and worms, by flapping away debris with their fins and sandblasting with water squirted from their mouths. They also use very tough teeth and jaws to take on sea urchins.

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Actinopterygii

Order: Perciformes

Only two clownfish, a male and a female, in a group reproduce through external fertilization. Clownfish are sequential hermaphrodites, meaning that they develop into males first, and when they mature, they become females.
