REPORT PRC have become synonymous with the Melbourne Cup Carnival, creating the most talked about hospitality experiences for the city’s corporate & social elite. “Each year, winning food, drink and styling trends emerge to set the tone for functions, celebrations and launches for the year to come,” says Sean Zajac, PRC’s head of Catering & Events. The very first function staged at the new destination has already set the meeting and events industry alight – with the Centre already receiving a raft of bookings for car launches, showcases, exhibitions and corporate networking functions. PRC is managing the 1700 sqm purpose built space in Melbourne’s north and also at the helm of an accompanying dining and bar concept within Essendon Fields set to open early next year. 8

Australia’s first Hyatt Place Hotel will also be unveiled first quarter 2017 to complete the major event complex. “The response to date from the meeting and event industry has been very positive, with organisers relishing the flexible, column free event space that can cater for up to 1300 guests, large pre-function areas, outdoor pavilions and the incentive options the Centre naturally provides,” says John Isherwood, CEO of Peter Rowland Catering.
