Friday 4th December 2009 Phoenix Phil Moore had the best round of the day today. Playing the Mountain and Lakes courses Phil came in with a four under par ahead of Mashi who was one under and Cenc Zlazici nett 75. The cut was set at handicap 14 and Gordon Melia won the B Flight with a one over round, Mike Corner was a close second and Geoff Parker was surprised to find himself third with a modest nett 78!

Treasure Hill ( Stableford) Friday at Bert’s is fast becoming nearly as popular as Tuesday at Bert’s. Generally the same people play but we do have an influx of new blood. We usually play the ‘Lesser’ Golf Courses on a Friday so it gives a chance for the ‘More Careful Financially’ player to have a Gerry, Gordon, Mashi and Geoff game. At this time of the year Results: Wednesday2nd with the rates as high as they December2009 Rayong get why not?. wind but all in all a fine day, and of course the views here are really fine. The fun started back in the dressing room and it was like a scene from a Comedy Spoof. One of our players, Let us call him ‘Bumble’ for reasons of friendship, was sat on the bench with the Manager and Locker room staff there. He had come back and opened his locker to find it empty, and he remembered having his bag as he took his shoes out of it. A return to his car did not find the suspect bag. The staff to their credit were nonplussed and opened all the lockers close by and it started to look awkward as out hero had his locker key number 113 and it was empty. Being a person of high intelligence, after some time he returned to the desk and checked his locker number and found he had signed for number 131, and yes on checking his bag was

in 131 and his key opened it. An International Incident was averted, and at least a half hour late he was able to get a shower. A sure sign of Murphy’s Law, but it always seems to follow some people, and they are usually the nicest. He will not obviously live this down, probably ever. Back at Bert’s all gathered to hear the results, and of course to have a little fun at our ‘Bumble’s’ being ‘Lockered Out’. The Winner of the day was once more Dick Warberg with a fine 39 points ahead of Rob Brown in second with 35 points and Peter Whitehead in third with 34 points. We then had a countback on 33 points which saw Bill Knight in fourth and J.C. Lhoste in fifth. There was however only one Hero on the day, he who put a smile on out faces. T.T.F.N. Congratulations to this years winners of the Mickey Mouse League 2009, the Rising Sun. It’s got to be said, Lance (RS) and Jim’s game (OK) was the game to watch, as it was a very tight game as the 140’s and tons were coming out of nowhere, even Spongebob was on tender hooks as this game was so tense!
