PDC Property Update
Busy, busy, busy…. Firstly we must apologise for not sending a newsletter for the last few months. It has been a very busy time here with lots happening. As you all know, our lovely Linda left us, she decided that after four years of property management it was time for a total shift in direction for her, and she is now working for a recruitment firm in Mudgee, assisting unemployed people to find work. She still pops in from time to time, and has been extremely helpful in training Nicky so that her transition into the role of Property Manager has been seamless. Nicky has grabbed the role with both hands and is thoroughly enjoying the challenges that have been put before her. Her pragmatic, no nonsense approach makes her perfect for the job. Her number one goal has been to inspect all of the properties we manage, to familiarise herself with each property and it’s tenant, so subsequently she has had a very busy few months with inspections. It’s been a great way for her to get to know both landlords, tenants and properties.
Welcome New Landlords!! On that note, we would like to welcome our new landlords. At the end of September, Peter Druitt & Co Rylstone took over the rent roll previously managed by LJ Hooker Rylstone. Jim Jamieson, principal of LJ Hooker, decided to retire and offered us the opportunity to purchase his rent roll. We are looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming weeks and months and encourage you to contact us with any questions or queries you may have in the meantime.
Is this person built for cuddling or what??? 10 month old Luke Henry Maher is the youngest son of Rachael and Glen Maher. Most of you will know Rachael from her role in property management over the last couple of years. Rach left us to concentrate on her beautiful little family (Luke has an older brother, William, who is 3 and suffers from Juvenile Diabetes) but is now back on deck in the office one Saturday a month.
Kathryn Murphy Due to the growth in our business we now have Kathryn Murphy working for us for three full days a week plus some Saturday mornings to assist Nicky, Danielle and Steve. Kathryn is our receptionist and will mainly be the first point of contact for landlords and tenants. Kathryn is a certified real estate agent and will also assist with routine property inspections. She also
looks after holiday accommodation bookings. Out of work hours Kath is a busy mum of four and a gym instructor. She’s had us all out pounding the pavement after work every Wednesday afternoon after work—our kids come along on their bikes and we even take the dog! It’s a great way to enjoy the beautiful spring weather!
