The answer is “yes.” In fact, steak takeout orders are growing and offered by independent restaurants as well as known steakhouse chains. Type in steaks in any food delivery app such Grubhub, Seamless or Uber Eats, and you’ll get dozens of steakhouses and other restaurants ready for your order. Just this past year Bloomin’ Brands Inc. tried a new tactic in its effort to win over customers who want to eat their restaurants’ food at home: It opened a takeout-only location in Hollywood, FL, co-branded as both Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. It has plans to open additional stores in other markets. The company already provides takeout and delivery at more than 246 of its regular locations. For steak lovers nothing is better than sitting down in a restaurant and having the server bring them their favorite steak prepared to perfection and sizzling hot along with favorite sides. Here lies the challenge for steak delivery and takeout. How can a restaurant closely replicate that indining experience? Packaging plays a big role. Steaks are heavy and can weight up to 16 oz. or more. There’s not only the heat issue — keeping it warm and not having it cook rested from rare to medium in transit and containers must be durable and hold heat well.
