All of us should save money and put them in our piggy-bank in case we need them. If we need the money, we can go to the bank to open our piggy-bank and put them on our account. When we need the money we go to the bank and withdraw some money in order to buy food, clothes, shoes and other necessary things. But we shouldn’t spend all our money. All the people should save but unfortunately there are many people who don’t. Nikoleta Lagara- 4th class Today it is a very important day, because people will start saving up food, money and other things. 31st October-World Savings Day For many years saving has played an important role in peoples lives as well as the nation’s economy. We have heard from the elder [grandfather ,grandmother, mum, dad etc] that there is a basic rule in financial management and the rule says that we spend less than we earn. World Savings Day has been established on 31st October 1924 in Milan. It has been celebrated since then. Saving means to keep same money in order to use them when there is a financial emergency. If we don’t save money and spend a lot of money we won’t be able to have the money when we need them. Saving must be a part of our lives because we might come to a difficult situation some day. Like the one our country is facing now: Greece has more expenses and less income that’s why it faces the danger of bankruptcy. Greece is a part of the European Union Commitee (EURO GROUP) in order to make decisions about the European Union and the Euro. So saving is not only useful for every single person but also for all the countries’future. Nikoleta Haratsari, 5th class Since the old times saving has played an important role in our life. We have heard from the elder that there is a basic rule in financial management and this rule says that we spend less than we earn. When I was a little boy , my aunt brought me a present : it was a piggy bank , called Foivos. At the rear of its back, it’s got a slit, that’s where I put my money in. Though, now that we have economical crisis, I almost never put money in! But only on Christmas Carols day , on Christmas Eve , at Easter and on my Birthday or Nameday. Still, people give me less money than they used to. One day the piggy bank was full, so I decided to open it. Then I was in front of small mountain of money. This was the beginning! In this way I learned the true meaning of saving. Panagiotis Papageorgiou-5th class Since the old times, saving has played an important role in all the countries. We’ve heard from our grandparents that there is a basic rule in the financial management, which says that we spend less than we make. Saving means to limit consuming , in order to face future needs.Today life has changed. We must save money in order to cover our needs. But we must not exaggerate. For example, if someone earns 500 euros per month , he can save 50 euros at least. Lagara Athanasia, 5th class Since the old times saving has played an important role in peoples’ lives . We have listened from the elder that there is a basic rule in financial management and it says that we spend less than we earn. We try not to spend money aimlessly and we always aspire to have a sure job to cover our first needs. First of all , we must always pay the current bills and after that spend the money left on other things like shopping for domestic needs. Exaggerating is a bad thing for the money and the economy.
European Union consists of 27 countries , such as Germany and Italy and it is going to be really hard to face all the financial difficulties ahead. Thodoris Mamalis-5th class
31st October: Global Savings Day. For many years saving has played an important role in peoples lives as well as nations economy. We have heard from the elders (grandfather, grandmother, mum, dad etc) that there is a basic rule in financial management and the role says that we spend less than we make. The rule really exists so as not to spend all our money because some day we may need them if for example we get sick or if we need those money for any other reason and the money won’t be saved .We may go on a journey and need money because we may have our money in a bank and have torn clothes and shoes. If we need our money we can use half of them and not all of them. Evaggelia Lagara, 6th class Saving has been playing an important role in peoples’ lives and the countries’ economy for many years now. We have heard from the elder that there is a basic rule in financial management and the rule says that we spend less money than we earn. The World Savings Day has been celebrated for 81 years on 31st October every year, in memory of the foundation of the National Institute of Postal Saving Bank in Milan in 1924. “Saving contributes to both personal and general good” and it is the spirit the governs the day. Tina Omeri-6th class Since the old times the savings have played a great role in the people’s lives and nations. We have heard from the elder [grandma, grandpa, mum, father etc] that there is one basic rule in financial management and the rule says “ Spend less than you make”. Aesopus, an ancient Greek writer had written a story about this ,entitled<< the cicada and the ant >>. The plot of the story is: a cicada was singing the whole summer while an ant was building its home and gathered its food for the winter. In the end, the ant survived in the winter, because of the savings, whereas the cicada didn’t survive because of its laziness. On 31st October we celebrate the 87 years in memory of the foundation of the International Institute Postal Saving Bank in Milan on 31st October 1924. “Saving contributes to the individual and common wealth” is the spirit of the day. As an old proverb says “ Bean by bean, the bag is filled”. Roula Pliatsika-6th Saving has played an important role in people’s lives as well as in the nations’ economy. We have heard from the elder (grandfather, grandmother, and mum, dad) etc) that there is a basic rule in financial management and this rule says that we must spend less money than we earn. If you look after the pennies and the pounds, they will look after themselves says a popular proverb which will logically be heard many times nowadays. The reason that this particular day has been celebrated for 81 years is to commemorate the founding of the International Institute of Postal Saving in Milan on October 31 1924. Saving contributes to the individual as well as common wealth and it is the spirit that governs the day. Konstantinos Alexiou-6th class
A proverb says: “Bean by Bean … the bag is filled”. Personally, I have 5 money boxes , which contain 250 euros in total. In the bank, I don’t know how much money I’ve got because my parents don’t tell me that. Also, my country, Greece is in a big crisis at the moment, as we owe 360.000.000.000 !!! Wow…it is a big debt!!!!!!!! And the Prime Minister says that we are on the right way….!!They are talking about returning to our old currency: drachma. Anyway, the debt is too big! But Greece is trying to get along. Thanasis Oikonomou, 6th class Saving played an important role for the countries in the past .We have heard from the older that there is a basic rule in financial management and the rule says that we spend less than we could. For example, 27 countries from European Union are in bankruptcy and some others not. I can save in 4 ways: every day I go to school, my parents give me 3 euros. Of the 3 euros I spend 2,5 euros. This 1 euro goes in my money box. I help my grandmother in the vines and fields, then I get money and put them in the money box. This is my way, every pupil has his own way of saving. All children must save. Once, when I was a little boy, I went for a ride with my dad in a nearby forest and I sat under a tree and I said << dad,why do the ants bring food then nest tree? >> And my dad answered << that cicada dies in winter because he doesn’t store food as ants>> and my grandmother always says<< bean, bean ,fills the bag>>. Since then, I got making savings seriously. Panos Itsios class- 6th
