Protective screens will be installed on Havana Rd pedestrian bridge this month.
HAVANA BRIDGE WORK PEREGIAN SPRINGS RESIDENTS CAN EXPECT SOME TRAFFIC DELAYS ON THE SUNSHINE MOTORWAY OVER THE COMING MONTH AS WORK BEGINS ON SAFETY SCREENS FOR THE HAVANA WAY PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE.
Starting from February the Department of Transport and Main Roads will have staff on site installing a protective screen along the full length of the footbridge. It follows earlier works to improve fencing at either end of the bridge to restrict pedestrian traffic to the Motorway. It is expected the construction Peregian Springs News - February 2022
will take up to five weeks to complete. The first week will involve work between 6am and 3pm Monday to Friday, followed by night works between 6pm and 6am Sunday to Thursday. Pedestrians will be able to use the bridge during the day, however it will be closed at night during the works. Traffic may be diverted away from the site through David Low Way and there will be temporary lane closures, stop and go control and reduced speed limits. The TMR has said nose, dust, and vibrations from machinery are to be expected. The project office number is 5451 7055 or email northcoast@tmr.qld.gov.au
