KICKING FOR EQUALITY By Fiona Ewington NOOSA TIGERS AFL CLUB CELEBRATED THEIR PRIDE ROUND IN MAY SUPPORTING SEXUAL EQUALITY AND INCLUSIVENESS WITHIN THE GAME.

The women’s team embraced the celebrations exchanging their team socks for rainbow-coloured socks and team members sported the rainbow flag on their cheeks. “It’s really important for Eastern Beaches News - June 2021

everyone, regardless of gender preference to feel included and connected to a team, especially in AFL where opportunities for equality are really opening up” says instigator of Noosa’s pride round and team member Shanon Hill. The Noosa Tiger’s women’s team are gaining a loyal following within the community. Their skills, fluidity and sheer passion for playing is securing respect from new supporters with every game.
