Support Department The support team provides a range of support designed to enable individuals to benefit from the rehabilitation available at BITA Pathways. Primarily this would include encouragement to take advantage of the vocational skills and training that helps individuals to progress. Specific support includes regular reviews involving carers, family and relevant health professionals. Service users are encouraged to set individual goals and these are reviewed by staff from across the organisation and will include an assessment of skill level, attendance, personal presentation and engagement. The support team also offers limited help with benefit and housing advice and other related issues that may affect Service Users. Support staff routinely work in close partnership with other agencies so that support can be offered that is tailored to individual needs. Diversity issues remain a high priority and we endeavour to meet the needs of individuals in relation to cultural, dietary, social and other needs.
Warwick Training Centre The centre delivers a range of vocational and pre-vocational accredited training programmes in a wide range of subjects with experienced tutors. All classes are in small groups between 6 - 8 with individual support as required.
Vocational Guidance Our guidance worker offers individual confidential information advice and guidance. We have an accredited provider status.
Employment Support The Employment Support Team offers a service to help our Service Users achieve their vocational aspirations. We work with Service Users to identify their goals, not only with open employment, but also with voluntary work, or vocationally relevant courses.
User Involvement User involvement is enabled by means of a users forum that meets monthly and is wholly service user led. Representatives sit on the Board of Directors and its sub-committees. A women’s group also meets regularly. Both groups organise a variety of social and leisure activities.
The Garden Pathway This is a project which is an inter-related set of activities employing volunteers in gardening, primarily to grow vegetables which are used as the main ingredients in making our own brand of chutneys which are then marketed at different outlets. Service users can participate at any stage of the project and in any aspect. New developments will include a ‘Green Gym’ involving walking groups and outdoor exercises plus taster sessions and cookery demonstrations aimed at improving physical health and fitness.
