SOLVING A SPECIFIC PROBLEM

This is an example of use of some Matlab functions designed by the author JOHN MR or Per7 to calculate oil’s physical properties in the categories PVT and Correlations and some statistical comparisons between these generated data types are done also. I hope this work will be very useful for people related to Petroleum Engineering. 1.1

RESULTS

In the pursuit of a sufficient understanding, the set of results generated by Matlab functions for each subsection 1.1 and 1.2 is divided into different attachments which are showed in the last pages. 1.4

STATISTICAL COMPARISONS

For comparing goodness among the used correlations will be used the following basic formula: Average Relative Error=E=sum(abs((P-Pc)./P))*100/size(P,2); Where: P is the vector containing PVT values of a property. Pc is the vector containing calculated values of a property. size(P,2) gives the number of columns of P. Therefore, the correlation with the least E is the best available correlation to calculate the respective property within the current context. 8
