MALVERN HILLS renamed HOLYWELL HILLS in surprise move after corporate jackboot crushes the 'Malvern Water' brand An emergency meeting of the District Council last week passed a motion to rename the Hills to Holywell Hills.

Slovenia's ski resort, Lake Bled - could Malvern develop in a similar manner?? As Great Malvern nestles at the foot of the highest hill in Worcestershire, the ‘ Beacon, the abundance of snow experienced in 2010 makes it an ideal winter sports destination! From lounging in the outdoor spa pool at ‘ the Malvern’ Spa hotel to supping Glühwein outdoors under the heated parasol at the town’s continental brasserie, Pepper & Oz, in historic Abbey Road there is now the chance to ski all over the Malvern Hills. We are offering the first 20 who arrive on skies for a snack before the current snow melts, a complimentary glass of Glühwein. With the recently reprieved St Ann’s Well café offering weekend refreshments as well there’s a chance for skiers to have a hot drink and cake before descending through the snow to Pepper & Oz, in snow covered Abbey Road. As recent national transport events have shown it’s not easy to travel long distances during the wintry weather and having a ski resort right here in the West Midlands is a real bonus. With extra overnight accommodation now in Malvern following the Foley Hotel’s refurbishment the town offers great value to people wanting their winter experience local!

The motion after the giant Coca-Cola organisation apparently refused all approaches to sell the internationally famous 'Malvern Water' brand consigning the areas reputation to the tourism dustbin. Commenting on the favourable reception to his late evening motion, Councillor Spring commented I am well pleased with the change of name. It is a great credit to the Humm family's foresight in resurrecting the Holywell Water brand just in time to replace 'Malvern Water'.

New kid on the block Love Spring Water?

Our new Chef de Partie is Luca Fattori from Udie in Italy.

Are you a lover of Malvern's virtually mineral-free spring water? Then why not treat yourself or your friends to a reusable water bottle? The beautifully captured snow scene is the Priory Gateway and part of the Abbey Hotel, available to order for a framed or stretched canvas print.

You don't have to be Italian to work here but it helps! He replaces Matt who has joined the team at the Plough & Harrow as an assistant chef. Available in large (750ml) for £1.95 or small (330ml) for £0.95 sizes; they can also be used as attractive vases. Jamie Oliver sells his recyclced ones for £10 in John Lewis, ours are brand new and unused!

Luca was until recently Chef de Partie in one of the best restaurants in Friuli Venezia Giulia: ” La Taverna” quotde in the “ Michelin Guide” with one star. Local Honey £4.99 per lb

We wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year ....................... from all of us at Pepper & Oz We look forward to seeing you soon!
