Partnerships & SUPPORT Peoria Schools in Top 10 for Tax Credit Donations

Thanks from the Governing Board On behalf of the Governing Board, we are humbled and grateful for the incredible support from our generous community members who give their time and talents as volunteers, or make contributions through tax credits and general donations. This support allows us to do great things for students and, in turn, makes a great difference to a generation of future leaders. Board President Matt Bullock

Nearly $51 million was donated to state public schools through tax credits. Peoria Unified schools received more than $1.5 million, and four of the top 10 schools in the West Valley received the most tax credits: Cactus, Centennial, Liberty and Sunrise Mountain, totaling nearly a half a million dollars. The majority of tax credits fund extracurricular activities such as character education, field trips, athletics and band. Recently, the Legislature expanded the tax credit program to include fees paid for college preparatory tests, such as the SATs or AP, or industry credentials or certifications earned through Career & Technical Education programs. Additionally, a new law extends the deadline for tax credit contributions to public schools from Dec. 31 to April 15.
