Hi Readers, WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER ISSUE.
IN THI S
Spring is here! Apart from the gorgeous weather, Spring means outdoor entertaining and spring cleaning. For some, it’s also a time to start updating the home, so this month we’ve included a home improvement section to help. On that topic, I’d love to extend a warm welcome to Peita Davies from Realestate.com.au Home Loans. Peita will be writing for us on all topics relating to lending – and yes, she can also help finance those home improvements you’ve been wanting to do for so long! We have a familiar face this month with Jamie Oliver introducing his new cookbook, Jamie Cooks Italy. We just had to include the Amalfi Lemon Tart – it’s fresh but comforting at the same time. Be sure to give it a go – with one taste you’ll know exactly why this recipe had to make an appearance! Our main feature this month celebrates an incredible local dad, Russell Tucker. Russell and his wife Bec found out that Bec had breast cancer when she was 38 weeks pregnant. From there, find out how he juggled roles as carer, new dad and business owner while Bec undertook rigorous treatment.

Their story is nothing short of inspiring. The thing we found mind-blowing is Russell’s humility; he genuinely doesn’t realise how amazing he is. And, given that the past few Father’s Days have been rough for the family, our friends at Panthers Penrith have been kind enough to gift the Tucker’s a $100 gift voucher for The Ming – enjoy guys!

The show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with a fan from Houston. Justene Williams THE CURTAIN BREATHED DEEPLY
The Curtain Breathed Deeply presents an immersive and truly captivating collection of video and sculptural work by artist Justene Williams.
er largest and most ambitious undertaking to date, Williams uses found objects and waste materials to create dazzling theatrical environments, seducing visitors through a variety of hypnotizing sets and performative video installations.
Williams takes inspiration from many sources, including memories of her father’s wrecking yard, her childhood training in dance, and her experiences constructing elaborate retail window displays. These are combined with influences from early 20th century avant-garde art and theatre, as well as contemporary pop culture. Williams blends ritualistic references from Shamanism, Voodoo and Modernist Primitivism with art historical giants – Picasso, Leger, Klein and Flavin – and a range of pop culture influences including hip hop, Milli Vanilli and A Chorus Line. You’ve never seen, or experienced, anything like it. The Curtain Breathed Deeply was curated and developed by Artspace, and is touring nationally in partnership with Museums & Galleries of NSW. If you’re looking for something completely and utterly unique, this is it.

Pink Up Penrith PENRITH WILL BE TICKLED PINK FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER.
THE PINK UP PENRITH COMMITTEE. Left to right: Joe Masters, Simon Gould, Marlene Shipley, Lea Hicks, Kerry Hansen, Elizabeth Spanos, Gai Hawthorn, Marie Chitos, Rhonda Hanbury, Sue Fryer, Deb Ferguson, Tom Bell.
Written by Manisha Foley – Penrith CBD Corporation
Why? Our beautiful town has been personally asked to be the first metro area to Pink Up on behalf of the McGrath Foundation.
and passion to make sure that Penrith and its surrounding suburbs are Pink. Made up of local business people, the committee’s vision is to showcase our strong pride for the town by supporting the McGrath Foundation. This will be done by driving awareness and fundraising for the cause, and encouraging as many local businesses, schools, organisations, sporting clubs, charities, families and individuals to Pink Up.
he McGrath name is synonymous with the late Jane McGrath, whose brave battle with breast cancer was extremely tough. Throughout her journey, Jane had access to a breast care nurse for the first time and became aware of the tremendous impact that they can have on a patient’s physical and mental wellbeing, both during and after treatment.
“It’s a great honour that the McGrath Foundation chose Penrith to lead this fantastic cause,” said Gai Hawthorn, Chairperson of the Pink Up Penrith Committee. “We have such a tight-knit community here, I know we’ll band together to raise money for Breast Care Nurses to help individuals and their families affected by breast cancer.”
The McGrath Foundation was co-founded by Jane and her cricketing husband Glenn, after Jane’s diagnosis. Today, it’s considered to be one of Australia’s leading breast cancer support charities.
The Pink Up Penrith Committee wants this initiative to be as big and eye-catching as possible; no fundraising event or idea is too big or too small!
Sadly, cancer doesn’t give anyone a choice. So it wasn’t hard to take on this initiative for the Penrith area, especially since passion and pride are ingrained within our community. An enterprise of this magnitude needs a strong team, and Penrith has assembled a committee bursting with pride
“We want as many local businesses and community members as possible to get involved,” says Gai. “Whether it’s pinking up your pooch, wrapping your entire shopfront in pink wrapping paper, or having your whole office wear pink for the day, we want to know about it!”
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? 1
Organise and register your fundraising event with the Pink Up Penrith Committee
2 Make a donation and receive a Pink Up
3 Purchase a Pink Up Penrith Kit.
Fundraising by groups and individuals can occur during the entire month of October, and a calendar will be created so you can register your business, family or group to participate. The Committee will also have some great creative ideas for you in the upcoming weeks on our newly-created Pink Up Penrith Facebook page, so please join us!

New Police Officers
FOR NEPEAN/BLUE MOUNTAINS LOCAL AREA COMMANDS
Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith announced that 18 new recruits will join the Nepean and Blue Mountains Local Area Commands following on from their recent graduation from the Goulburn Police Academy.
fter more than eight months of training at the academy and university-level education it’s great news that our community will see 18 new officers patrolling the streets and attending to incidents, following today’s Police attestation parade of Class 334,” said Stuart Ayres “Community safety is of paramount importance and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome the new probationary constables to the Nepean/blue Mountains region. “Becoming a sworn police officer is a tremendous honour. The mere presence of a blue uniform puts our minds at ease, however it also comes with enormous challenges. “As a community, we turn to the police in our worst hour and expect them to stand in harm’s way to prevent and disrupt criminal activity.
“I commend our newest officers on making the decision to put the community’s safety above their own and joining one of the proudest organisations in the state.” The Minister for Police Troy Grant said the Liberals & Nationals Government committed to increasing the authorised strength of the NSW Police Force to a record 16,795 over this term, and we have achieved that and more. “The security and safety of the people of NSW is a top priority for this Government and these new Probationary Officers will be a great asset in helping to identify, disrupt and combat crime in the local community,” Mr Grant said. “These men and women are about to embark on a tough but rewarding career. I am proud to welcome the newest members to the NSW Police family, and I wish them the best for their future policing career.”

Inspiring LOCAL DAD
It wasn’t exactly how we planned it, but nothing has really been the way we’d planned it over the last couple of years. You just sort of have to roll with the punches and continue on.
Professional family photo credit: Lauren Elyse Photography
Russell Tucker - Mr Mum
That’s just what happened to Russell Tucker, a young dad from St Clair.
is wife, Bec, was 38 weeks pregnant with their second child when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Reeling from the bad news, their son was delivered that night. Russ was again a new father, having to support his wife and children in another way. ‘The shock of finding out my wife had breast cancer, and then the mixed emotions of having a newborn son the same night... was very hard,’ he said. Bec says Russ was initially terrified of having kids. 'Until we had our daughter, he had never even held a baby. But from day one he just switched into dad mode and hasn’t really come out of it. He’s just amazing!’ Shortly after Ava was born, they had started their own business, Aspire Plumbing & Gas. Russ wanted more flexibility to be available if the family needed him. This decision paid off when Bec was diagnosed. ‘I had to take time off to be at home with the kids and do a lot more. The chemo knocked Bec around a fair bit at the start.’ It was only eight days after their son was born that Bec started chemotherapy treatment. ‘He became the mum and the dad,’ Bec says. ‘He was a rock. He stayed every day and night at the hospital with me. He was up doing the night feeds every 2-3 hours so that I could sleep, and he was constantly telling me to rest and relax. He kept reassuring me that we were a team and that he’s not going anywhere, saying, “I got this”.’ She says that Russ just kept stepping up, no matter what was thrown at him. ‘From changing pooey nappies, staying home with me until I was up, holding my hair back if I was throwing up, through to literally helping me out of bed when I physically couldn’t get myself up ‘coz I was in too much pain and even crying with me ‘coz my hair was falling out. He would make sure the kids got fed and everything was normal to them. I don’t know how he did it, I really don’t.’ Russ says that it was tough at the start; he’d have to ‘wake up and do all the night feeds every 2-3 hours, get up and go to work, and then be back at it again at night. I sort of had to be Mr Mum for most of it’. Twelve months later, after receiving the ‘all clear’, Bec and Russ bought a family home together for a fresh start. Unfortunately, on Aidan’s first birthday, Bec was re-diagnosed with breast cancer. The young family had just started renovations when this happened, so Russ decided to ‘ramp it up’.
‘We had to get it finished as quickly as possible so we could move in and get settled for the next round of chemo and surgery she had to go through.’ ‘It wasn’t exactly how we planned it, but nothing has really been the way we’d planned it over the last couple of years. You just sort of have to roll with the punches and continue on.’ Russ renovated the entire house in eight weeks, transforming it into their dream home. ‘I don’t think there is a part of this house that we haven’t renovated,’ he laughs. ‘We built walls and bathrooms and painted the whole house. We did a lot of work here.’ Russ says he called in a lot of favours and ‘spent lots of long nights working away, trying to get the house ready for them. We pretty much gutted the whole place and renovated every surface, but it’s been worthwhile; the family loves it.’ They both say they couldn’t have gotten through these tough times without the support of the local community. ‘I just really want to send a big thankyou to everyone that’s helped out; all our family and friends, and a lot of people that have done kind things and didn’t even know us personally. It’s good to see that in a bad situation, it can bring out the good in people,’ says Russ. They’re especially thankful for their parents, Sarah Williamson and Nicole Newton, for their help during such a hard time. After going through so much together, the couple both agree it’s made them stronger. While Russ says Bec’s the strongest woman he knows, Bec says Russ is ‘an absolute dream father, and there’s nothing this magnificent man won’t do for his family. We are so blessed.’ ‘He’s got lots of patience, he’s very caring and gentle, and at the same time he roughs them up; it’s a good balance. One minute he’s throwing them up in the air and the next he’s snuggled up on the lounge with them watching Paw Patrol and singing along to some terrible pre-school song,’ she laughs. ‘I’ve always tried to be as hands-on as possible as a father,’ Russ adds. ‘I’m a plumber, so dirty nappies don’t scare me,’ he laughs.
Russ says he didn’t really think too much about it all when things got hard, he just did what needed to be done to keep the family strong and ensure everything kept moving. ‘I just went straight into action mode. As a husband, it’s a horrible thing. You want to protect your wife and keep her safe and you can’t. You feel sort of helpless. It’s really horrible, you want to do so much more.’ ‘I tried to shoulder whatever I could, making sure I’m home enough to do everything with the kids that I can — whether it’s cook dinner, get them in the bath every night, bed time — just making sure I’m there to do as much as possible.’ ‘I couldn’t do the chemo for her and I couldn’t do the surgeries for her, so I just made sure I was there to do everything else.’ Going through so much together, it’s obvious the love between these two is very strong. Bec says that Russ is still the man she ‘fell’ for over 13 years ago at a friend’s BBQ. Russ says that Bec conveniently invited herself to his 21st a week later and ‘she’s been around ever since’. As for their future, Bec’s just been given the ‘all clear’ at her 12-month check. They celebrated with family photos at the Nepean River. Ava is about to turn five and continues to be a great big sister to Aidan, getting his nappies and helping dress him in the mornings. She’s a bit of an over-sharer at daycare where she talks about her ‘mum’s sick boobie,’ but her understanding and nurturing instincts make her parents proud. Aidan just turned two, which was celebrated with a Hot Wheels party with family and friends. Russ says they’re looking forward to some sense of ‘normality’ again. ‘The little things don’t bother you as much anymore, but we’re really looking forward to just enjoying family time, which we haven’t been able to do for the last couple of years.’ One thing the whole family is looking forward to is having an outdoors family picnic. However they choose to celebrate this Father’s Day, Roaming wishes them all well.

Jamie COOKS ITALY
RISOTTO RICE & SEASONAL VEG WITH PARMESAN, LEMON & GARLIC PESTO Serves 6-8
TOTAL TIME: 1 HOUR 10 MINUTES
love this minestrone – it feels fresh and electric with the contrasting pesto, while the risotto rice sucks up all the incredible flavour and is extremely comforting. Minestrone has always felt like a wonderful fallback recipe – from my days as a student to being a busy parent, I love reacting to what’s available at the market, growing in the garden, or even the odds and ends hiding in the veg drawer, to create a beautiful bowl of soup. INGREDIENTS 9 2 onions 9 2 sticks of celery 9 Olive oil 9 600g mixed green veg, such as courgettes, fennel, tenderstem broccoli, asparagus, chard, kale, peas, broad beans 200g Arborio risotto rice 9 2 litres organic chicken or veg stock 9 1 mixed bunch of fresh rosemary & thyme (30g) 9 2 cloves of garlic 9 50g Parmesan cheese 9 1 lemon 9 9 Extra virgin olive oil METHOD 1
Peel the onions and celery, then finely chop both and place in a large pan on a medium heat with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. This is a good time to prep your green veg, chopping courgettes and fennel into ½cm chunks, and finely slicing broccoli, asparagus, chard and kale. Put the veg aside. Stir the rice into the pan for 2 minutes, then pour in the stock. Tie the herbs together and add to the pan. Bring to the boil, then simmer gently for 15 minutes.
2 Meanwhile, peel the garlic and pound into
a paste in a pestle and mortar with a pinch of sea salt. Finely grate in the Parmesan and lemon zest, squeeze in the juice, and muddle in 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
3 Stir the veg into the soup and simmer for
a final 10 to 15 minutes, ensuring that the veggies retain their vibrancy. Season to perfection, then divide between warm bowls. Finish with spoonfuls of the pesto. NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9

Mozzarella Fried Eggs SWEET TOMATOES, FRESH BASIL & TOAST Serves 4-6
his is the most fantastic starter or brunch. It’s so easy to put together, and perfect placed in the middle of the table ready to share with friends and family. The way the mozzarella melts into the tomatoes creates the most wonderfully tasty casing for the eggs as they cook, which is just divine. You’ll love tucking into this one. INGREDIENTS 9 1 dried red chilli 9 1 clove of garlic 9 Olive oil 9 2 sprigs of fresh basil 9 6 ripe mixed-colour tomatoes 9 125g ball of mozzarella cheese 9 6 large free-range eggs 9 4 – 6 slices of sourdough bread
TOTAL TIME: 15 MINUTES
Deseed the chilli and tear it into a large cold frying pan. Peel and finely slice the garlic, add with 4 tablespoons of oil, and place the pan on a medium heat. Season with sea salt and black pepper, tear in the basil leaves and let it all fry for around 1 minute while you randomly chop up the tomatoes.
2 As soon as everything starts to sizzle, throw the
tomatoes into the pan, then, a couple of minutes later, tear in the mozzarella. Making little gaps, crack in the eggs. Cover, then cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your liking. Meanwhile, toast the bread. Season the pan of eggs from a height with black pepper, and serve up with the hot toasts.

Amalfi Lemon Tart WHITE WINE, OLIVE OIL & VANILLA PASTRY
TOTAL TIME: 2 HOURS, PLUS CHILLING
his wonderful, rather delicious baked lemon tart is fresh but comforting and just a stone’s throw away from a baked cheesecake. It’s great served with ice cream, and really nice with seasonal berries, such as raspberries or strawberries. If you’re feeling the Italian vibe, a little slice for breakfast with a black coffee is a real treat. INGREDIENTS
Pastry 9 250g plain flour, plus extra for dusting 9 50g icing sugar, plus extra for dusting 9 75ml olive oil 9 75ml Greco di Tufo white wine 9 ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste Filling 9 5 large lemons 9 500g quality ricotta cheese 9 150g caster sugar 9 2 large free-range eggs METHOD 1
To make the pastry, put the flour and icing sugar into a large bowl with a good pinch of sea salt. Make a well in the middle, then add the oil, wine and vanilla paste. Use a fork to whip up the wet mixture, gradually bringing the flour in from the outside until it comes together as a ball of dough. Tip onto a lightly floured surface and knead for just a couple of minutes, then wrap in clingfilm and place in the fridge for 30 minutes.
2 On a flour-dusted surface, roll out the pastry
to about 3mm thick. Loosely roll it up around the rolling pin and unroll it over a 25cm loose-bottomed tart tin, easing and pushing it carefully into the sides. Trim off any excess, patch up any holes, then prick the base with a fork, cover with clingfilm, and chill in the freezer for 1 hour 30 minutes.

3 Preheat the oven to 180ºC. When the time’s
up, bake the pastry case blind for 25 minutes, or until lightly golden. Meanwhile, finely grate the zest of 1 lemon and put aside. Squeeze all the lemons to give you 150ml of juice, then whisk with the rest of the filling ingredients until smooth, by hand or in a food processor. Pour into the tart case and bake for 30 minutes, dusting with icing sugar and sprinkling over the lemon zest for the last 5 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool – it will have a slight wobble, but will set as it cools. Dust with extra icing sugar, then slice and serve.

What Does SELF mean
Written by Tamara VanAntwerpen
Learning to be yourSELF? In our world, SELF means something very different.
ELF stands for ‘Spectrum Empowered Learning Framework’, a program designed to empower young adults with social and self-care skills to enable independent living. Research states that adaptive skills, or daily living skills, often need to be taught to people on the Autism spectrum. For many adults it may be important to explicitly teach independent living skills such as taking a shower, navigating transport, crossing the road, cooking, shopping, and general life organisation. What does this look like practically? A young lady with a broken alarm clock. She fears oversleeping for an 8:30am start at work, which is a common concern for many. Her solution, however, was anything but typical. She decided to sleep in the workplace kitchen to make
sure she wasn't late to work the next day. This is not a sustainable solution, or one that would be understood by someone who simply buys a new clock. The SELF Program is designed to help with challenges like this. On October 20, around 350 people will gather to raise much-needed funds to expand Western Sydney’s LPF Centre for Autism. During this event, the Luke Priddis Foundation will reveal plans to expand the current facilities and launch the SELF Program. This purpose-built living simulation facility within the current premises, designed to facilitate the training of independent living skills, will bring adults with Autism closer to independent living. This year’s Spring Ball will be pivotal in building the next phase of the Foundation’s future services and will showcase the phenomenal growth of the Foundation over the past 12 years. Chairman Luke Priddis, father of 16-year-old Cooper, has said, “Autism does not discriminate; it touches all cultures and demographics, and NO… you don’t grow
out of it. Children with Autism grow to be adults with Autism, and our community must begin to address their needs”. The 5th Annual Gala Ball will bring together Sydney businesses, celebrities, families and the disability sector to focus on the special abilities of those living with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We hope Western Sydney will throw its support behind those living with ASD to simply be themSELF!

HOW PHYSIO CAN HELP With osteoporosis affecting more than 1 million Australians, physiotherapists are key to managing it successfully.
he disease is more commonly known to affect middle-aged and elderly women, although men are also at risk. Women who are post-menopausal have a heightened risk of developing osteoporosis. WHAT EXACTLY IS OSTEOPOROSIS?
Osteoporosis is a disease that makes bones become brittle; those who have it are more likely to break or fracture a bone. Osteoporosis occurs as a result of our bones losing calcium and other minerals much faster than they can be reabsorbed. Bone mass, also referred to as bone density, generally decreases after 35 years of age. Reduced bone mass results in weak bones that are somewhat porous and easily compressed (similar to a sponge). WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF OSTEOPOROSIS? Some of the common symptoms of osteoporosis are: • Bones that break or fracture often • Back pain
• The development of poor posture or a ‘hunch’ • A decrease in height over time • Pain performing everyday tasks. More severe cases can even see bone breakage after something as simple as a sneeze or cough. HOW CAN PHYSIOTHERAPY HELP WITH OSTEOPOROSIS? Apart from reducing pain and discomfort, physiotherapists can help with your osteoporosis by: • Strengthening your core muscles, which can improve your posture • Increasing muscle strength, particularly in the legs, back and upper body • Improving your flexibility and balance, reducing the chance of falls and fractures • Providing relief to pain in the back • Improving bone strength with light exercise through physiotherapy.
All of this will get you stronger and more confident to perform everyday tasks with less pain. KEY TIPS FOR OSTEOPOROSIS PREVENTION • Get outside for your daily dose of Vitamin D (sunshine is great for strong bones) • Eat plenty of calcium-rich foods like milk, yoghurt and cheese • Eat a balanced diet containing lots of fruits and vegetables • Exercise in your early years if you know you have a family history • Exercise as regularly as possible to improve bone strength • Speak to your local physiotherapists about a tailored plan to increase bone strength.
get your physio assessment today Progressive Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy has an experienced team who can assess your scenario and talk you through your treatment options. If you’d like to take the first step to preventing or better managing your osteoporosis, contact the practice today on (02) 4721 7798.
Good luck Ben!
rogressive Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy would like to wish Ben English the best of luck with his upcoming Rugby League tour of New Zealand. For 10 days, Ben will be travelling with his U15/1s Windsor Wolves team to play in Rotorua, Hopu Hopu and Auckland. This is a priceless experience where he can visit a beautiful part of the world while playing the sport he loves. Ben has been a loyal member of the Progressive family and has worked tirelessly to overcome major injury hurdles in recent times. With Ben's dedication and talent, we're sure this a small stepping stone towards achieving his goal of one day becoming a professional Rugby League player and putting on the Panthers jersey. Good luck Ben!

Is Kombucha Good FOR YOU?
Written by F45 Training
The 2018 trend is definitely... KOMBUCHA! But is it just a fad?
his popular fermented probiotic drink has all the hipsters obsessed, although originally consumed in China more than 2,200 years ago.
Made from brewed green or black tea, Kombucha’s probiotic content can have a positive effect on our digestive system and stomach bacteria. The fermentation process, developing more antioxidants than other teas, produces compounds that can encourage detoxification. During the fermentation process, an acetic acid (also found in vinegar) is produced. This acetic acid can kill harmful microorganisms in the body. As Kombucha is high in this acid, it’s beneficial to the liver and supports a natural detox. Like yoghurt, Kombucha supports healthy gut bacteria. This can improve aspects of your health such as
inflammation and weight loss. Kombucha has the same health benefits as green tea; potentially increasing the number of calories you burn, improving blood sugar and cholesterol levels, and reducing belly fat. So, Kombucha is more than just a new fad that all the cool kids are drinking. BUT... WATCH YOUR KOMBUCHA SUGAR Some Kombucha can be high in sugar, increasing your calorie intake. Read the nutritional label - the added yeast and bacteria break down the sugar added during the fermentation process, so by the time it’s ready to be consumed there is no sugar content. But make sure no extra sugar is added after the fermentation process. MANUFACTURING Kombucha can cause serious health problems if not fermented correctly. Make sure you’re consuming a known and trusted brand, as the bacteria can potentially do more damage than good.
CONSUMPTION Like anything new to your diet, be smart with your intake. Limit your Kombucha to once a day, as too much can negatively affect your stomach acidity. ALCOHOL Most nutritional labels won’t state the alcohol content, though typically between 0.5% and 2%.
Kombucha’s probiotic content can have a positive effect on our digestive system and stomach bacteria.

Tips To Help Promote Positive Mental Health
There are little things we can do every day to look after our own mental health and wellbeing. PHYSICAL WELLBEING It’s easy to overlook the importance of a good night’s sleep and fresh, nutritious food to our mental health. Sleep helps you feel focused and motivated. An effective sleeping pattern, routinely going to bed and waking up at the same time, can improve this. You can help your mind and body perform at their best with a balanced diet. Less sugar and more fresh food, as well as lots of water, makes a world of difference. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY Getting your body moving improves your physical health while also relieving stress and helping process your thoughts.
DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY Do what makes you truly happy! Hang out with friends and family, read a book, draw a picture, play with your pet, help your parents cook dinner, play a sport you love... whatever it is, do what makes your heart happy. A happy heart will help create a happy mind. JUST BREATHE If you’re feeling overwhelmed or uncomfortable, stop and take a moment to breathe. Close your eyes, count to five, and take long, deep breaths to relax. Repeat until you’re feeling less pressure. You can then go back to what you were doing with a clearer head. DON’T FORGET There are times we all need a bit of backup, and help is always available. Talk to someone you trust, like a family member or teacher, or call a help line and speak to a professional. The sooner you let someone know how you’re feeling, the sooner you can go back to feeling your best.
KNOW YOURSELF The only person who truly knows you, and who will ever understand how you’re feeling, is yourself. It’s so important to know what makes you happy or sad, and to know how to manage those feelings. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones and value yourself.

ur nurses do so much behind the scenes that a pet owner doesn't see. You may first have contact with them over the phone or at reception and assume that’s their only role. Some people think nursing is just cuddling animals. Veterinary nurses are the ultimate multitaskers. In a single day, they will give advice over the phone and schedule appointments, monitor an anaesthetic, assist in surgery, and triage an emergency. When an animal is being treated in hospital they will clean cages, walk dogs, provide food and water, and give comfort and support. They set up IV fluids for patients, collect and run blood tests in our lab, give medications, and monitor your pet’s vital signs. They will give you
Many of our nurses develop special interests, or undertake additional training, to gain specialised skills. Nurses run our cat adoption, puppy preschool and juvenile dog training programs, and foster kittens until they’re ready for adoption. There are opportunities to specialise in areas like medicine, surgery, behaviour, and management. To become a veterinary nurse, you must complete a traineeship with on-the-job training. Learning is diverse, with areas including anatomy, physiology, parasites, anaesthetics, surgery, medical conditions, treatment, and behaviour. The traineeship includes written assignments, examinations, and practical assessments. To be a veterinary nurse you need compassion, a love of animals, and to be a hard worker. Veterinary nursing can be challenging but very rewarding. Veterinary nurses play a vital role in our industry and it’s important to recognise how valuable they are. Without them, there is absolutely no way us vets could do our jobs!

For Love O or Money
ne of the most common things we argue about in our relationships is the vexed topic of money.
Pressures around money become significant when one partner is not as mindful with their spending as the other, who may be more careful. This can create anxiety and tension.
Nearly 50% of partners argue seriously about finances... is your relationship at risk?

each other’s back and always putting the relationship first, then you’re heading in the right direction to ensure that money won't be a negative factor in your relationship.
As we come together as a couple, we bring psychological baggage from our past. Childhood experiences, such as being affluent or financially challenged, can have an enormous impact on how we view money. When two people from different worlds come together, there’s always the potential for conflict. As individuals we like to think we can do what we like with our money. However, once we’re in a committed relationship, we need to consider how our spending impacts our partner. Without an open line of communication, the sudden decision to buy a new outfit or head out with your mates and gamble heavily, is a recipe for distrust. You’re no longer single, so you need to respect the new dynamic. This involves both of you agreeing on how you spend and save money, making clear decisions on whether you have joint funds and the level of independent discretionary spending you’re both comfortable with. Communicating about how you each see money is key. If you’re open and honest from the beginning, have

Men Need Beauty Treatments Too! Local Expert
Marianne Arthur Beauty Expert Insignia Hair and Day Spa
Perhaps if we removed the word ‘beauty’ there might be more men who look after their skin.
n fact, due to their coarser skin, larger pores and increased chance of sun damage, I would say that men need facials more than women. A facial for a man will not only give a deep clean, sloughing off dead skin cells and helping unclog pores, but also soothe irritated skin. This will give a smoother shave, dissolve excess oils, and keep the skin hydrated. The skin on your face and neck is exposed to the negative effects of our environment. These external pollutants, in combination with daily shaving and lack of a good skin care regime, can wreak havoc on your skin. The result? Irritations, razor burns, pimples, blackheads and pigmentation. At home, all men should be cleansing and moisturising daily (twice a day would be fantastic!), and exfoliating a few times a week. A facial cleanser gets deep into the pores to remove any excess dirt and oils from the skin. DO NOT use body soaps! They will alter the PH of your skin, potentially making it drier, more irritated, and more prone to bacteria. (And think about it - if you use that soap on other areas of your body, do you really want it on your face?!)
also be the result of dehydration, which can cause the glands to produce more oil as a form of compensation. Every man should be moisturising, despite their skin type. Using a moisturiser with an SPF will help slow down premature ageing, as well as help prevent pigmentation and skin cancer. Exfoliation will be your best friend… yes, a best friend without a beer is hard to believe, I know! Regular exfoliation will reduce your chances of getting ingrown hairs from shaving. It will also control the build-up of oils, helping your skin look fresher and clearer. It’s a deeper clean that stimulates the growth of new skin cells, which means it’s great for wrinkles, too! Now guys, if you’re reading this you should not be stealing your partner’s facial products… well at least not until after you’ve had your first facial treatment! Chances are, due to the thickness of your skin and higher production of testosterone (which means you also produce more oil), you would more than likely need different products. There may be the odd product you can both use, but never assume or you can do more damage than good. Oh... did I mention that a facial involves massage as well? Men need some R&R too! Enough said!
A common mistake that many men with oily skin make is skimping out on the moisturiser. However, oily skin can

Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a jewel to mark each milestone
very wedding anniversary is a milestone. Each year brings with it an opportunity to celebrate your love and commemorate your life together. You have a chance to reflect on memories, celebrating your partner and the life you’ve built. The perfect way to mark an anniversary is with a timeless gift that will not only represent your love today, but also last into your future.
for your partner. Gifts can include dress rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. More significant anniversaries include silver for 25 years, pearl for 30 years, ruby, sapphire, emerald and the Diamond Jubilee for your 60th anniversary. As you reach these longterm milestones, the precious nature of the traditional gifts means that there are more factors involved in your purchase decision. Ideally, you’ll be looking for gemstones that have formed naturally, with minimal inclusions. These elements guarantee the rarity and uniqueness of your jewellery.
Over time, wedding anniversaries have been symbolically represented by a traditional gift. The first wedding anniversary gift is gold. As one of the most precious natural materials on earth, gold is the perfect reminder of the nature of your relationship. Gold can be worked in a variety of ways and, as it’s a staple in jewellery, you have countless options available when picking your gift. One of the most meaningful ideas for a first anniversary is a gold eternity band. The eternity band is given to complete the symbol of your wedding ring set. The incorporation of gold ensures durability and beauty. Within the first decade of your marriage, traditional gifts include blue topaz, jade, garnet and tourmaline. These semi-precious gemstones come in an array of colours and hues, providing many options when choosing a gift. The attraction of these gems is that their naturallyoccurring differences, including colour variation, shape and size, allow you to choose a unique gift that’s perfect

HOW TO GET
Cheaper Fuel I admit, I’m one of those people that checks the price of fuel every time I pass a service station.
Maria-Luisa Patisso Budget Expert My So-Called Lifestyle
can't believe that fuel prices differ as much as 30c depending on location and company – it’s crazy!
My car holds 60ltrs of fuel, which costs anywhere between $80 and $100 each week. I used to drive from station to station, using my supermarket coupons to find the cheapest pump, until I came across the government’s Fuel Check App. It’s a great time saver and easy to use. Download it in your phone’s app store and give it a go. As an example, I work in Lidcombe and live in Penrith. When leaving work, I checked the local prices of fuel. I also checked the prices in Penrith. I found that by filling up near work, I would save $10 in one transaction. Even just to check the best prices in Penrith, I would open the app, pop in the postcode, and have access to all the local prices (including those stations that I have a 4c coupon for). I encourage you all to take a look, download, and start saving money. TAX TREATMENT OF
Local Expert Melissa Browne Money & Business Strategy Expert Accounting & Taxation Advantage
Most of us have heard of the term cryptocurrency or, at the very least, Bitcoin.
f you haven’t, cryptocurrency is generally used to describe a digital asset in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of additional units and verify transactions on the blockchain.
In the last financial year, millennials through to baby boomers have either owned or sold some type of cryptocurrency asset. If that’s you, the question you need to consider is: What does buying, selling or holding these cryptocurrencies mean for you? The ATO is taking a close interest in what you’re declaring when it comes to digital currencies. And the fact that you didn’t know won’t be an excuse if you receive a data matching audit and a ‘please explain’.
The ATO is taking a close interest in what you’re declaring when it comes to digital currencies. So... what does that mean for you at tax time? CRYPTOCURRENCY AS AN INVESTMENT If you purchased cryptocurrency as an investment, you may have to pay tax on any capital gain you make on disposal of the cryptocurrency. If you’ve held it for 12 months or more, you may be entitled to the CGT discount of up to 50%. And don’t forget to include any costs of holding, researching or selling your cryptocurrency, which can all be added to the cost base. CRYPTOCURRENCY AS A PERSONAL USE ASSET Cryptocurrency may be classified as a personal use asset if it’s acquired and kept or used mainly to purchase items for personal use or consumption. In this case, capital gains or losses that arise from its disposal may be disregarded. The catch is, only capital gains you make from personal use assets acquired for less than $10,000 are disregarded for CGT purposes.
Your Conveyancing Simply Made Easy!
CRYPTOCURRENCIES USED FOR BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS If you accept cryptocurrencies in exchange for products or services in the normal course of business, you need to include the value of the cryptocurrency in Australian dollars as part of your ordinary income in the same manner you would for any other non-cash barter arrangements. CARRYING ON A BUSINESS IN CRYPTOCURRENCY If your business is the trading of cryptocurrency, you may be able to declare your gains as normal income and not capital gains. If you’re unsure of whether you’re an investor or carrying on a business, the ATO considers such things as whether you have a business plan and are acting in accordance with that plan, whether you prepare accounting records, if you have a business name, and whether you intend to make a profit. SWAPPING ONE CRYPTOCURRENCY FOR ANOTHER
Specialists in all property transactions throughout NSW We pride ourselves on treating each transaction as if it were our own, making it a stress-free and simple process that is tailored specifically to each individual clients circumstances.
In your mind this may not be a sale, however according to the ATO, this may be a CGT event in which capital gains tax is payable. Essentially you have sold one CGT asset and purchased one or more CGT assets.

Upsizing Your Home
Sharon Mudiman Property Expert Bespoke Realty Group
IN A SO F T M A RKE T
Can you really lower your costs by upsizing when the market is down?
hanges in legislation mid-year meant downsizers over 65 are now eligible to invest up to $300,000 per person into their super from the sale of their family home. While there are key considerations when deciding if this is profitable for baby boomers, there has been a sharp increase in those over 65 enquiring and actively selling their family homes. While the change in legislation doesn’t guarantee that a flood of family homes will soon hit the market, it does beg the question; What does this mean for daydreaming upsizers? Most homeowners only consider upsizing in a thriving market, based on the golden rule of ‘selling when the market is up’. There are, however, arguments to this approach. It’s suggested that the sale of your home in a soft market, with the direct intention of upsizing, can have a significant impact on lowering your overall costs. Generally, when the market is soft, the prices are lower. When selling, this may hinder your sale price. However, a slower market also means a stronger position from which to negotiate a purchase. From a dollar standpoint, a lower sale price also means potentially less capital gains tax for investment property sales. You’ll also enjoy a windfall of savings when upsizing to a larger home during a soft market by incurring lower stamp duty than when buying at a higher price in a booming market.
From a marketing perspective, it’s also important to consider the timing of your sale. If possible, avoid hitting the market when it’s saturated with other homes. An excess of listings puts the power back into buyer’s hands. With an abundant selection of homes to choose from, their ability to negotiate is far stronger. Competition drives a strong market so for vendors, the less homes on the market at the time of your sale the better, regardless of the season. With so many considerations and an ever-evolving market, it’s important to ensure you have all the facts and a balanced view of the current climate. For further information on how the current market is impacting buyers and sellers in our area, please feel free to contact one of our local area experts.

Finance to Renovate?
HOW DO I GET
Home renovations are often expensive. Whether it’s a new kitchen, bathroom or an extension, it’s likely you’ll need to borrow money. So here are some ways to finance that renovation. YOUR FINANCE CHOICES When it comes to financing a home renovation, your main options are to: • Redraw from your current loan • Refinance your existing loan • Consider a building and construction loan. The option you choose will depend on your particular circumstances, but some lenders will require you to take out a particular type of loan for a renovation. So it’s important to look at the pros and cons of each option, and also to consult your mortgage specialist upfront about the right finance option for you so that you can achieve your renovation sooner. REDRAW FROM YOUR CURRENT LOAN
Not all home loans have a redraw facility. For those that do and where you have made extra payments on your home loan, this can be a method of financing your renovation. If you use a redraw facility, the balance on your mortgage will increase, as will the amount of interest you pay. 2 INCREASE YOUR EXISTING LOAN

if you had borrowed the whole amount upfront as you only pay interest on what you have drawn down. By paying for each bill as it comes in, you also help cash flow. These type of loans require some paperwork: you need to provide plans, permits and fixed price contracts, and there are also inspections and valuations required along the way. The progress payments are controlled by the bank based on the schedule provided in the contract. And you will generally have to pay a fee for each progressive drawdown.
You may want to consider refinancing your existing loan. This may mean moving your home loan to another lender, borrowing against equity, or simply changing the terms of a loan to increase your borrowing limit with your current lender and access more money. If you are changing the terms of your loan it’s also a good opportunity to consider whether debt consolidation would be of benefit. By putting all debts into the one loan, you make only one repayment.
If you’re an owner builder, your mortgage specialist will be able to advise you on the best way forward.

European Christmas Getaway

Prague, Vienna, Munich, Berlin... enjoy the festivities and magic of a gloriously white Christmas.
here’s no better way to enjoy a white Christmas than by visiting the European towns best known for their twinkling markets, Yuletide delights, towering Christmas trees, gingerbread, Glühwein, and carol singers. Christmas markets run from late November through to the end of December, with most open on Christmas Day. The history of Christmas markets goes back to the 1400’s in the German city of Dresden. It now attracts over two million visitors to explore the 250+ stalls every year. Stuttgart Christmas markets attracts more than three million visitors annually, with the Dortmund market, one of Germany’s largest, featuring 300+ stalls packed around a breathtaking 45-metre tall Christmas tree. Although there’s a variety of Christmas markets across central Europe, Munich’s Christmas markets are the most

There’s also the 500-yearold tradition of the Krampus Run, showcasing spectacular medieval masks and costumes, as well as carols alongside the 30-metre tall Christmas tree at the Manger market. Prague’s city is a picturesque place to host two Christmas markets; Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. Both markets can easily be explored in one day, but what really sets them apart is the yummy Czech treats (you just have to try a klobása (Czech sausage)). Both markets are open every day over the festive period until January 6, including Christmas Day. Austria’s capital, Vienna, is a historic backdrop for a traditional Christmas market. Serving everything from boozy Christmas punch to gut-busting Austrian sausages, the markets take place in front of City Hall and run until Christmas Eve. There’s a huge ice rink for skating, reindeer rides for kids, and a classic nativity scene. Strasbourg, in eastern France, is home to one of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets. It’s easy to spend the best part
of a week here indulging in end-of-year festivities, picking up decorations and presents, and drinking local Alsatian wine. Be sure to head to Place Kleber where you’ll find the Great Christmas Tree towering the city skyline. Of course, Berlin’s variety of markets make it a hugely popular destination during the festive season. One of the best is Gendarmenmarkt - visit the classic wooden huts for classic, elegant ornaments and trinkets, indulge in delicious sausages and warming cups of mulled wine, and relax at the nightly concerts, from jazz to carols. For this article, a foreign person (refer Revenue Ruling No G009) is:
will be deemed to be a foreign person who will be potentially liable for surcharge purchaser duty and surcharge land tax. In short, if there is a beneficiary in a discretionary trust who is a ‘foreign person’, then the surcharge will be payable by the trust - whether or not that particular beneficiary receives a distribution of income or capital. The Chief Commissioner has a discretion to give retrospective effect to amendments of trust deeds which will remove the Trustees’ power to make distributions to any ‘foreign person’. Existing discretionary trust deeds need to include a prohibition on the Trustees to ensure that there is no distribution to ‘foreign persons’. If they don’t have that provision, they should be amended; otherwise the Trustees may find themselves with an obligation to pay more to the State Government than they had originally planned. Car Tyre Maintenance Tips Keeping your tyres in good condition is essential to maintaining a road-worthy car.
1 TYRE ROTATION
Manufacturers differ, but most advise that tyres should be rotated every 8,000 to 10,000 km’s. Front tyres carry more of the car’s weight and tend to wear out quicker than the rear tyres, so rotating can extend their life. 2
Steve Jennings Motoring Expert Trivett Classic BMW Penrith
Tyre pressure is critical and should be checked monthly, more often if you drive many kilometres and always before setting out on a long journey. Properly inflated tyres protects against tyre damage, while driving with low pressure tyres increases fuel consumption. To find the correct tyre pressure for your car, check the user manual, the label on the door, or inside the fuel flap. 3 TYRE TREAD DEPTH
Tyre tread helps remove water between the tyre and road, ensuring the car remains under control and preventing the risk of aquaplaning. The minimum tread depth for NSW is 1.5mm. It’s easy to see if the tyre meets this by checking the tread wear indicator bars, placed at regular
points across the tread. They will be level with the tread blocks when the minimum tread is reached. 4 WHEEL BALANCE AND ALIGNMENT
Wheel alignment is the process of properly aligning the wheels and axles for optimum handling, safety and tyre protection. Wheel balancing balances the wheel and tyres, protecting the bearings and suspension, preventing premature tyre wear, and stopping vibration. 5 REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT
If you’re in any doubt as to the roadworthiness of your tyres, take them to a specialist. Specialists can check the internal and external condition of the tyre, ensuring compliance with all legal and manufacturer requirements. Following repair and/or replacement, they’ll also ensure the tyre is correctly re-fitted. There will come a time when your tyres require replacement. This may depend on kilometres, driving style, climate, and storage. It’s essential to check your tyres on a regular basis and replace them when required.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST OPEN BESPOKE REALTY GROUP?
We recently rebranded as Bespoke Realty after 11 years trading as Glenmore Park First National. We merged with Century 21 Renshaw in March 2017 and, given that Penrith already had a First National office, we chose to rebrand and start afresh as Bespoke Realty Group. 2 T ELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR INDUSTRY
EXPERIENCE. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A LOCAL REAL ESTATE AGENT AND BUSINESS OWNER?
MEET SHARON MUDIMAN, LICENSEE AND PRINCIPAL OF BESPOKE REALTY GROUP.
I’ve been negotiating property sales for over 25 years in the Greater Penrith region and a local business owner for over a decade. One career highlight was being a member of the Regional Council of First National for over five years. It gave me incredible insight into both the industry and the local area. 3 TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR TEAM.
We’re proud to be a family-run business. Bespoke Reality is directed by myself and co-managed by my sister, Narelle Withers. We have a team of 18 dedicated, knowledgeable, fun and committed individuals who genuinely care about what they do. Between all of us, we offer combined experience of over 120 years in residential sales and property management. 4 W HAT WOULD YOU SAY YOUR POINT
OF DIFFERENCE WOULD BE? It’s definitely the relationships we hold dear with clients past, present, and future. We have over a decade of
experience representing the local community with the sale of their homes. We’re locally owned, operated and staffed. And we’re a family-run business that tailors solutions to each client’s specific needs, every time. 5 B EING A LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER,
YOU WOULD KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. HOW DO YOU GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY?
We take great pride in contributing to our local community. We’re long-time sponsors of a range of local school, sporting and interest groups, including the school holiday karate and colouring contests with Surveyors Creek Primary School, the Brumbies Junior Rugby League Club and, recently, the Seniors Week Tai Chi event. 6 F INALLY, WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST
ABOUT WORKING AND LIVING IN THE PENRITH REGION?
The balanced work and lifestyle, as well as the friendly locals, are my favourite things about living locally. Family, friends, the Nepean River and Blue Mountains are all at my fingertips, yet I’m still close enough to enjoy city life and easy airport access. There’s also plenty of opportunity for growth – it really is the ultimate lifestyle location.

Horoscopes By Sherrynne Dalby
(23 AUG – 23 SEP)
Libra (23 SEP – 23 OCT) Self focus can be a positive thing. There may be negative connotations attached but self focus is not selfish. You can find yourself doing a lot of contemplation or self focus right now. You’re looking for change, in both your surroundings and yourself. You feel something is lacking; something that you can improve yourself and, in doing so, improve your life. Sometimes all it takes is patience, perseverance and a willingness to put in a concerted effort. Make the decision now, make a plan, and put it into action. It doesn’t require money but if you need to you can find it.
Sagittarius (22 NOV – 22 DEC)
Ruling Planet: Mercury Sign:
Navy blue, dark brown, green
This is your annual time for renewal. Happy Solar Return Virgo! The saying ‘Many Happy Returns’ is a reference to the sun returning each year to the same area in the sky that it was at the time of birth. For Virgo this year, that is from 23 August until September 23 and covers all those born under the sign of the Maiden. The coming month will give you a snapshot of the year ahead. Pay attention to what is going on around your birthday for clues.
You have been juggling career commitments and the demands of home and family. Although this can sometimes be very stressful, you’re managing it quite well at the moment. This should be translating into a positive return into your bank account as it results in not only an increase in responsibility, but also in rewards. There is still the need to maintain your budget but, if you have a little extra, by all means invest in a little fun. Remember to take any opportunities that come knocking as they may not make a return trip.
Aquarius (20 JAN – 19 FEB) You can be feeling a little unsettled at the moment. This can be affecting not just your self, but all facets of life. You have opportunities for career advancement but this can mean a shake-up around the home. This can also be an opportune time for investment, but make sure you read the fine print. Energy levels have been less than optimum of late but this should improve by the end of the month. As energy improves, be cautious that you don’t push too hard and go over the top, doing damage.
It’s a busy month and year ahead, especially for those with September birthdays. It can be frustrating trying to get your voice heard but, if you can strike the right note, this year can be the best time to be heard. It’s also a good year for study. August birthdays can expect a year where there is a greater focus on others. Relationships play a large role in the coming year. Birthdays around the 10th have the opportunity for beginning new projects, and this year can be positive for all new enterprises. No matter what you are doing over the coming month and year, keep your eyes wide open.
Career matters may have been on hold of late, or even moving in reverse. This should change mid-month, when you can again move forward on projects. It may feel as though you’re wading through mud initially, but enlisting the assistance of colleagues and friends can speed things up. You may have been experiencing some pretty intense moments where others are concerned, and there may be quite a build up of tension. This will begin to ease by mid-month but may heat up again before it resolves completely. Now is a good time to get healthy.
Gemini (21 MAY – 21 JUN)
Cancer (21 JUN – 23 JUL)
You can feel as though you’re being pulled in opposite directions. The trick is to find a way to bring it all together in balance. Having a plan, writing lists and being organised are all tools that can ease tension. Tapping into your creativity can also help find a solution. May birthdays in particular can feel a positive change moving through towards the end of the month. Make the most of opportunities as they arise over the next month or so. The opportunity to shine by expressing your true self is not that common, so make the most of it.
Relationships can take a more serious turn over the next few months. You may be looking to make a more serious or long-term commitment. It’s about consolidation; you’ve already made the decisions, it’s time to act on them. Life may not have been meant to be easy, to quote a former Prime Minister, but it also wasn’t meant to be so hard or so serious. Now is the time to lighten up and play a little, to let your hair down and relax. Do something you really enjoy for no other reason than you really enjoy it.
Aries (21 MAR – 20 APR)
Scorpio (23 OCT – 22 NOV) Networking can bring unexpected returns this month, especially if you’re willing to be creative in your approach. Relationships can be a little more hectic mid-month. For some this can be an exciting time; for others, it can be unnerving. Whichever it is, there will be a shakeup. Sometimes you need to shake the complacency out in order to build more solid foundations. If you’re on for the long haul, you will welcome this. Always of prime importance in any relationship is communication. Keep the channels open, making sure it’s a two-way radio.
Capricorn (22 DEC – 20 JAN) You have been feeling a little indecisive lately, secondguessing yourself and lacking your usual confidence. Everything seems to have been in a holding pattern; you’re waiting, but nothing is happening. Things will begin moving forward again by mid-month. There will also be a shift in finances towards the end of the month. Your slump is coming to an end as you rediscover your mojo. Career comes back into focus from the 25th, and will highlight alongside family. Try to be innovative in your approach and not fall back into a rut.
Pisces (19 FEB – 21 MAR) You may be getting fed up with the need to accommodate others but relationships of all types are still at the forefront. If there is confusion, take a deep breath, a step back, and a realistic look. It’s time to take a fresh approach to the way you interact with others. If people take advantage, stand up for yourself. You can be very generous with your time and energy but remember to save some for yourself. It may become necessary to rein in spending late in the month, but new sources of income may become available.
Taurus (20 APR – 21 MAY) You are really trying to find yourself at the moment, looking to unlock your potential and turn it into something tangible. Things become easier mid-month but there may still be some opposition from partners. You again feel in a position where you’re forced to juggle in order to please everyone. The truth is, right now, you need to focus on whatever floats your boat. You have a new direction and new opportunities where career is concerned. It’s time for you to find your focus and be very clear on your direction and what needs to be done to achieve your goals.
Leo (23 JUL – 23 AUG) Feeling refreshed and invigorated? Make the most of the energy while you have it but don’t overdo it. You have a tendency to go overboard with a lot of things, but try to keep a balance here. Too much now can see you run out later or, worse still, put a strain on your system that results in injury or illness. This can be especially so for late July birthdays. It’s also important to take extra care as you can be more accident prone than usual. Now is a good time to think about a realistic health and fitness plan.
