PENN LAW MASTER IN LAW PROGRAM Where students and professionals gain an in-depth understanding of law and legal principles across many disciplines.

Whether your professional or academic focus is in healthcare, technology, business, or one of many fields that requires an understanding of the law, the ML program will give you the knowledge base and skills to navigate complex issues and effectively assess and manage the risks and needs of your organization as laws and regulations continue to evolve.

ACADEMIC PROGRAM Combining ML foundational coursework with JD coursework enables students to first develop a solid education in the primary areas of law — U.S. Law, Regulatory Law, and Business Law — and then specialize with additional foundational coursework in Health Law and Policy, American Constitutional Law, U.S. Legal Research, Patent Law, Corporate Compliance, or Technology Law. Foundational courses also help students develop the skills they need to succeed in the law school classroom. Following their foundational coursework, ML students enter the JD classroom well prepared to engage deeply with specific areas of the law and constribute their unique experience and perspective to class discussions, a vital part of legal education. In the JD classroom, ML students sit alongside and learn with JD students, enriching the classroom experience while creating valuable relationships and professional networks.
