Victoria Costumes supplies attire for theme weddings, parties, community events, films, television, theatre and much more. Awarded “New Business of the Year” (2008) and “Business of the Year” (2009) by the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Victoria Costumes has recently been nominated for the “Newsmaker of the Year” Crystal Award. Owner Charlotte Rennison is the ‘beauty and the beast’ behind the rising company. This media darling can frequently be seen dressed up in magazines, newspaper articles, TV commercials and interviews. Her endless networking and unique high-quality costumes ensure this company gets noticed at events all over Vancouver Island. Far from being a conventional costume rental business, Victoria Costumes has extended its services to include costumed characters and impersonators for singing telegrams, marriage proposals, business openings, holidays, birthday and retirement parties. Victoria Costumes also employs two full-time seamstresses; these staff are available to the public for regular clothing alterations, tailoring, and custom made costumes. In addition to its content-rich website, Victoria Costumes also hosts two Facebook groups: “I Love Victoria Costumes” has over 1260 members who can view the costume gallery, discounts, public theme events and more. The second group, “I want to be a Victoria Costumes Model”, currently sits at 625 members and rapidly growing. Victoria Costumes has used members of this group at events such as the Victoria Symphony’s ‘Night at the Oscars’, The Better Business Bureau’s ‘Torch Awards’, and the Empress Hotel’s ‘Festival of Trees’ to name just a few. If there’s an event involving costumes, it’s more than likely this thriving company is involved. Victoria Costumes sponsors and supports numerous charities, fundraisers and community events including the Saanichton Community Christmas, Brentwood Bay Parade & Festival, Sidney Celebrations Polar Bear Swim, Sidney Sparkles Parade, KidsSport Canada Annual Golf Tournament, RC Grill’s Annual ‘Rib-fest’, Cops for Cancer, and Bipolar Babe’s fundraiser for Mental Health.
