Choosing the Exact Clock Motor
The clock motor is what regulates the functioning of a timepiece. The clock motor (or activity as it is generally recognized in the trade) tracks the variety of pulses sent out from a quartz crystal, thus deriving how much to rotate the hands. But this gadget is not necessarily so simple, provided the large number of attributes that can occur in clocks, both average as well as exotic.
The early clock motor was strictly a mechanical device. Rotational torque originated from a dangling weight or tightly coiled spring was put on the main gear, and an escapement device limited the quantity of moment-by-moment switching. One more aspect was the turning pendulum, which can be adjusted in order to fine-tune the ticking frequency.
