WE BRIDGE ACADEMY IN CARDIFF Located on floor ten of Southgate House, an executive business building that overlooks the centre of Cardiff, WE Bridge Academy is a five-minute walk from the main train station. Cardiff is the capital city of Wales, and is the worldâ€™s closest capital city to London, only 2 hours away by car or train. Two recent quality of life surveys by the European Union have named Cardiff as the third-best capital city in Europe and as one of the best European cities. In addition, living in Cardiff represents excellent value for money, with the cost of living 34% lower than that of London. Cardiff is clean and friendly with a very low crime rate and is even ranked as the number one most peaceful major urban area in the UK (The UK Peace Index 2013). Students wishing to study A-levels at Pembrokeshire College will be required to gain a minimum of 5 GCSE’s/IGCSE’s at grades A-C to include English, Mathematics and/or Science, dependent on the subjects chosen. Additionally, students will normally be required to have a minimum GCSE/IGCSE grade B in the subject or related subject being studied at A-level. Entry grades for Psychology require a grade B in Mathematics and English.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS All applicants are required to have completed secondary school to a good level of attainment. If secondary education in the students’ country ends at the age of 18 then they should have studied in high school up to the age 16 before commencing studies at the College.
International students are expected to have completed Academic IELTS with an overall score of 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in each component).

Students can choose three or four A-levels. All students must attend the essential studies qualifications (ESQ) over two years.

BOARDING PLUS Boarding Plus is a fully catered service comprising of the following: Safe and supported transition into living in the UK. All meals provided through a combination of lunch at the College and two meals at the accommodation on a week day and three meals on weekends and holidays at the host family. Airport pick up and drop off on designated days and times at the start and end of the academic year. Pick up and drop off facility from host families to college in the morning and evening. Access to fully equipped fitness centre 7 days a week. Trips and activities. No Extra Charge for accommodation during Half Terms, Easter and Christmas Holidays.

INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION PROGRAMME AT WE BRIDGE ACADEMY
The WE Bridge Academy International Foundation Programme (IFP) has been specifically designed for international students who want to study for an undergraduate degree but do not have British A-level qualifications (Year 13).
Course length: 6 or 9 months, full time (USPâ€™s)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS September intake: A minimum overall grade of IELTS 4.5 with no individual element lower than 4.0, or equivalent. January intake: A minimum overall grade of IELTS 5.5 with no individual element lower than 5.0, or equivalent. PLUS evidence of a successfully completed secondary school education in an appropriate range of subjects.
Pathways Business, Accounting and Economics Computing and Programming Engineering Science A supplementary IELTS Preparation module is available on request and for an additional fee.
Preparatory English Programme (PEP) for IFP Students who wish to join the IFP but do not meet the English proficiency requirements may join the intensive Preparatory English Programme in September and progress onto the IFP in January. To begin this course, students will need an Intermediate level of English (CEFR B1).
Course length: 3 months, full time 25 hours per week (September - December).

IELTS PREPARATION AT WE BRIDGE CARDIFF Our Academic IELTS exam preparation programme at WE Bridge Academy provides a combination of general English tuition to help our students develop the four essential skills of language communication: speaking, listening, reading and writing and intensive preparation for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam. These classes are delivered in a professional and supportive environment designed to maximise student progress. Students will also have to opportunity to practise their English with native speakers in our ‘English Beyond the Classroom’ lessons in which students use their English communication skills for real-life communication in and around Cardiff.
IELTS is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and is designed to assess the academic English language skills that the student will use in while studying through the medium of English.
The IELTS test has an excellent international reputation, and is recognised and accepted by the majority of universities. The IELTS preparation programme at WE Bridge Academy is specifically designed to help those planning to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level in an English-speaking country.
