JOIN THE JOURNEY OF FAITH “...all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27 NIV
ALOHA PEARLSIDE FAMILY, Thank you for being such a special part of this spiritual family and for choosing to be part of an exciting journey of faith. After 19 years, we are believing for our own home – “A Place for Grace.” From the beginning, God spoke this promise to our hearts: “If you will focus on the harvest, I will walk you into your house.” In other words, if we would focus first on loving people, He would then help us land our place. Thanks to your faithful love for people, we have grown from 30 to over 3,000 and the time has come to partner with the Lord to possess the place He has prepared for us. God’s Word teaches us that He will do His part to provide for a place as we do our part to possess that place through faith-filled giving. In the Old Testament, we find that while God promised land to His people, it was their part to possess it; and while He provided the design for the tabernacle of worship, it was the people’s part to provide the resources. The outcome was astounding as the people responded with amazing faith:
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS How much money are we trying to raise and for how long? Our initial goal is to raise five million dollars over a three-year period of time, which began in April of 2012 and will end in April of 2015. To date, $2.6 million has been pledged and $1.6 million has been received. In the last year of our present A Place for Grace campaign we are hoping to raise the unfunded balance of $2.4 million. How will I know how much to give ? The Bible says, “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessings of the Lord your God, which He has given you” (Deuteronomy 16:17). Pray and allow God to open your heart and direct your commitment. Through prayer and personal assessment, you will know what to give. How is my giving to A Place for Grace different from my tithe? Your commitment to A Place for Grace should be an amount God leads you to give above and beyond your regular tithe - the biblical tenth of your total income. It should not replace your tithe, which is necessary for the daily operation of ongoing church ministry. (Note: If extenuating circumstances require you to choose just one, it is requested that the giving of the tithe be maintained.) Why is it important to pledge and fill out a Commitment Card? Pledges allow us to partner financially with God for His vision of Pearlside's new home. Pledges also visibly demonstrate to the financial institution that we have a strong ownership mindset and a monetary commitment to see our own home come to pass. For these reasons, we are asking our Pearlside family to prayerfully partner and fill out a Commitment Card with great faith, courage, and sacrifice.
WHERE IS YOUR SEAT?
“Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.” (Exodus 36:6-7) I believe that same excellent spirit of generosity lies in all of us. And it will take all of us to possess that place God has prepared for us. Prepare to be amazed. Why? You can never out give God: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38) Welcome to a journey of faith that will take us from here to abundance! Thankful for you; together with you,
Pastor Norman & Faye Nakanishi Senior Pastor
THE VISION FOR A PLACE FOR GRACE
BEGIN WITH THESE SIMPLE STEPS
While Pearlside began with humble beginnings in temporary facilities, God spoke to Pastor Norman and confirmed through different prophetic voices that Pearlside would have our own place to gather, to worship, to learn, and to train in a place that we can call our home. With a place of our own, we will have the ability and capability to respond to the people and assignment God has called and placed on us: to Reach the Unreached, Establish Believers, Equip Disciples, and Empower to Influence.
1. Involve your entire family. Pray together and ask God to give you His heart for the lost and His will for your involvement in the A Place for Grace giving campaign. Ask God to reveal the amount He wants you to give as an investment into the advancement of His Kingdom.
Although God has grown our church from 30 to over 3,000 over the years, our greatest harvest is yet to come with unique growth from various places around the island. A place of our own will serve as a home base for our ministries where we will be able to equip, train, and send the leaders and laborers who will pioneer this great harvest. God will raise up this place for men and women, young and old, to receive training through ministry meetings, classes, seminars, and through our Every Nation School of Ministry. Our unique property will be a city on a hill, a light to our community, and a light to the world; as God has called us to train and send people to plant churches and make disciples of all nations locally, nationally, and globally.
2. Determine God's direction. As you wait on the Lord, be patient, quiet, and settle your mind, emotions, and will. Allow Him to speak to you and He will show you how you should participate. 3. Step out in faith. In order to possess this place God has prepared for us, everyone must do their part. Real giving is sacrificial; not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice. In sacrificial giving, sacrifice means something different to everyone. God may challenge you to make a sacrificial commitment above and beyond your regular tithe (a tenth of your gross income). He may lead you to give a large one-time offering or twelve months of offerings until the end of our giving campaign. Sacrifice is offering the best we have. It is making The Lord and His vision the first priority in your life.
JOIN THE JOURNEY OF FAITH A Place for Grace is our opportunity to take the next step in expanding God’s vision for our church. Though every church is called to embrace all people, the reality is that every church does best at reaching and equipping a niche most in alignment to their God-given assignment. Significant growth has been occurring and even greater growth has been prophesied.
Prophetic Promise: “...I’m going to raise up a model in this place, where people come from all over the world to see it. For I will raise up a training base that will impact and influence the world and the spirit of the apostolic church planter is going to come...like a burning fire...and I will release wave after wave of church planters.” (Prophet Jim Laffoon, Every Nation Ministries)
Prophetic Promise: “The Lord would say…my hand is upon this church. You’ve known winds of growth…spurts of growth, but there are winds of sustaining growth coming to you…that will not be a spurt, for you will grow and grow and grow.” (Prophet Jim Laffoon, Every Nation Ministries)
Most importantly, God will use our place for people to come to know who Jesus Christ is, their purpose for their lives, and the plans He has for them. Without the burden of setting up and breaking down various services and locations, we will be able to spend more time investing in the lives of those God has given us. To see our family and friends come to know Jesus is why we exist and why we gather together as a church.
With our temporary facility filling to near capacity, our church family has recognized the necessity of providing a permanent space that will allow us to continue our mission which is to Reach the Unreached, Establish Believers, Equip Disciples, and Empower to Influence. We thank God that He has provided a place for us. Now is the time to join together to give in faith so that our mission can be fully accomplished.
Unique times and seasons come when God calls upon His people to give sacrificially through time and resources. Now is the time, this is that season, and our call is clear. We trust that "all things are possible with God" and that His Word over our church will not return void, but will accomplish everything it has set out to do (Isaiah 55:11). Where God guides, He provides; and giving is the key that unlocks the door to God’s blessing. Prayerfully consider how you can partner with us to advance the Kingdom of God.
No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can conceive what God has prepared for those who love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
