BAKEWELL GOLF CLUB’S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 27th November Bakewell Golf Club held their AGM on Friday, November 27th 2015, in the Clubhouse. chaired by the President, Brian Edwards. The accounts, presented by the Treasurer, Steve Hudson, showed a comparative overall stability for the year compared with previous ones, for which he was congratulated. Following this was the presentation of reports by Men’s and Ladies’ Captains, Joe Noble and Mavis Holmes. Joe Noble reported that the Club’s donations to charities reached an amazing £3,393.70. It also provided the invaluable help of Bob Straw and Paul in hosting the Bakewell Rotary Club’s Charity Day. Membership has managed to turn the tide with a marginal increase, thanks to the hard work of Chris Allen, membership secretary and also the establishment of the Bakewell Golf Academy by Doug Cousins which allowed the employment of a local pro, Chris Pollard. The committee also plan to enlarge the facilities of the Club to provide more scope for offseason activities and have made an application for a grant to finance these. The membership have reported their satisfaction with the condition of the course due to Ed Green, the Greenkeeper and the

The Regents are a very successful section of the Club and continue their weekly meetings despite the weather. They have celebrated the 25th anniversary this year but sadly Forbes Robertson who established the group has now resigned from the role of organiser. The other teams of the Club i.e. Captains, B-team, and women’s succeeded in competing strongly against other teams in the district. The Juniors have Congratulations to P.
