I have been taught to have an understanding of Canine Behaviour which is extremely important during the grooming process allowing me to monitor the comfort and wellbeing of your dog and at all times, following the Animal Welfare Act adhering to the Five Freedoms: · ·

Freedom from hunger or thirst – Fresh drinking water is always available Freedom from discomfort – Always doing what is best for the dog whilst grooming especially if heavily matted. Freedom from pain, injury or disease – following safe lifting techniques, all equipment, baths, tables and towels are sterilised after each dog preventing cross contamination, 7 point health checks provide early detection of any problems. Freedom to express normal behaviours – allow the dog to move while being groomed and not using restricting harnesses. Freedom from fear and distress – by never making the dog feel stressed physically or mentally. I will always do a consultation with you to make sure your dog is groomed as you require. I offer a calm, stress free environment for your dog.
The dogs are given one to one attention and they are not rushed in anyway, I do not run a production line. I groom because I love dogs and want their experience to be a positive and enjoyable one. The grooming process is done on a gentle treat and reward based approach and not by restraints, this is much more comfortable and less stressful for your dog. They are given regular comfort breaks. I can offer a full groom which includes a 7 point health check, to just a bath and brush up, deshedding treatment, hand stripping, nail trimming, feet trim, face trim you can just phone me and discuss your individual requirement. I do not use cabinet dryers just a stand dryer and brush. I only use good quality products on your dog and will choose the best treatment most suitable for your dog’s need
