Welcome to the 3nd Annual TRI-N Charolais Farms and Guest Bull Sale W

elcome to the 3rd Annual TRI-N Charolais and Guests Bull Sale from us, Silver Creek Farms Angus, Squirrel Creek Angus and EHR Simmentals! This sale is a one stop shop for everyone in their cross breeding program. On offer are Charolais, Simmental and Angus bulls from some of the most enthusiastic young breeders in MB and Sask. You can attend this sale and do all your shopping in one day which ultimately saves you valuable time in this very busy time of the year. These are good bulls backed by good people! Charolais sired calves are once again topping the markets. Whether they be white, tan or red the charolais influence is desirable and profitable! I feel our sires are positioned perfectly to meet and guarantee you the producer those top prices. Why? We have a large commercial herd and our roots run deep in this business from the last 32 years.

How do we select the bulls we use in our program? 1) They must have libido to breed cows and by cows I mean more than one and in YOUR breeding season not at the end of it! 2) They must calve. We don’t mind watching our heifers, but cows NO WAY! 3) Calves must have vigor and suck. No time for dumb calves with the “feed me philosophy.” 4) The calves better look good when I wean them and even better when I sell them the following winter. My order buyer demands this and he must be able to profit on them or he won’t be back. 5) They must work in our commercial herd. They need to be used in a natural state under no nonsense conditions to fairly monitor all above requirements. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years. We have met so many great people far and wide that we are proud to call our friends. Jesse even got a girlfriend because of it (One step closer to retirement… LOL!) . Even if you don’t need a bull this year come on down. The beef business is our business and everyone is included. The Nykoliations

Welcome to the Tri-N and Guests 3rd Annual Bull Sale. This year besides the great set of white, tan and red Charolais bulls from the Nykoliations, we have some solid Simmental and Angus bulls as well. In the cattle industry, crossbreeding is essential to gain the only thing that is free and that is hybrid vigour. In this one stop shopping sale you have the opportunity to select some strong pedigreed Black or Red Angus bulls to add the British influence to the cowherd along with some full blood Simmental and Charolais bulls that will give you that top performance mix in the calf crop and the cow herd. Tri-N have been building this herd for decades and have a product that will work in all segments of the industry. They have done some DNA testing for homozygous polled so you have that added bonus if you so desire. If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale or on sale day, Sale Manager 124 Shannon Road please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to find you a Regina, SK S4S 5B1 bull that is right for your program and make your bull buying experience 306-584-7937 a pleasant one. HRJ BULLETPROOF 411B Bulletproof caught our eye day 1 when he was shown successfully as a calf. Semex purchased Bulletproof for their worldwide semen program. When we got the opportunity to purchase walking rights, we jumped on it. What a great decision we made! We used this bull on a wide variety of cows. The consistency he has thrown has far surpassed our expectations! The length, hair and calm demeanour he throws is exceptional. EPDs top 2% for TM, 10% for WW and 15% for YW and Milk.

He was a stout made, wide based bull out of a proven cow in our herd. This son carries the same stamp. We used Thriller the first year on predominately commercial cows as we feel that’s the true test of a bull. He passed that test with flying colors. Thriller was used heavy this year solely on purebred cows so there will be many more sons in next year’s bull sale. His calves are impressive.

we have a bull, replacement heifer or even cow that is mean, wild, or unworkable, they do not stay as part of our herd and would never be offered for sale to go into someone else’s herd.

Welcome to the third annual TRI-N and Guests Bull Sale. I would like to start off by saying thank you to the Nykoliation family for having us be a part of their sale. We here at Ehr Simmentals have been in the Simmental industry for a more then 40 years. My father Werner started in the early 70s and ran a purebred herd up until 1989, when he moved to Manitoba and switched to a commercial Simmental based herd. After many years of buying bulls and purchasing stock we found unsatisfactory, either due to performance or longevity, I started Ehr Simmentals in 2010. Since then we have grown to over 70 purebred cows with a mostly fullblood base adding in some red and black genetics along the way. We strive to breed quality stock that’s bred and fed for performance, longevity, and most of all disposition. If

One of our two herd sires is IPU Wally 97Y, who was the high selling fullblood bull purchased from Labbatte Simmentals in 2012. 97Y is sired by Champs Wallace who is a son of none other than the outstanding Champs Romano bull, who has herd sires working in many purebred herds. Our other herd sire, RLD Thunder 272A, was purchased from Double Bar D farms in 2015 as the high selling fall born fleckvieh bull. 272A is sired by RLD Thunder 273X who they’ve used in their herd as a bull for breeding heifers and cows and has produced many top quality herd sires. All our bulls are fed a silage based ration and hand fed grain to help maintain docility and to raise animals that are easy to work with. This year we have 10 yearling bulls and one outstanding two year old bull on offer, ss well as 3 fullblood heifers. We also selected 3 commercial heifers selling as a pen of three. We encourage anyone interested in any animal on offer to call with any questions. We welcome everyone out to the farm for a visit and to see these animals in person. All animals have had their 8 way vaccine and Vira Shield 6 vaccine. Thank You from us at Ehr Simmentals. Blaine and Werner Ehr

IPU WALLY 97Y IPU Wally 97Y has been an outstanding performance bull here at Ehr Simmentals. He was purchased in 2012 as the high selling fullblood bull from Labbatte Simmentals. 97Y is a big, deep, thick made bull that has tons of length and great disposition. A very stylish bull with sound feet and structure as well a very easy maintaining bull. Pictured here in January of 2018, 97Y still looks as impressive at 7 years old, as the day we purchased him. The sons he has produced have been some standout calves with bulls working on many farms in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan. In herds like Jo and Teresa Walker’s at Fairlight, SK, Chris Bell’s farm at Moosomin, SK, Kroner Cattle Co at Hamiota, MB, along with several other herds and of course our very own commercial herd. The females 97Y has produced have been outstanding with lots of performance, milking ability, and quite possibly some of the most neat and tidy udders on the farm.

DOUBLE BAR D THUNDER 272A TM 60.7 RLD Thunder 272A was purchased in 2015 from Double Bar D farms and was the high selling fall born fleckvieh bull. In 2015, we went looking for another herd sire who we could use on heifers as well as cows and 272A has done a phenomenal job at that. A bull that until sale day wasn’t our top pick for purchase, but after seeing 272A in person and admiring his tremendous length and thickness, as well as his thick, dark cherry red hair coat and great pigmentation, we knew he was the bull we were searching for. Since his purchase we have bred him to both cows and heifers and the progeny he has produced have been more than satisfactory. The bulls we have to offer from him we know will go to work and do the same for you!

BW 105 EHH 18D

Thunder 272A produce and when combined, the results have been Jan 1/17 1150 February 27 2016 simply outstanding. 18D has been a calf that’s always had the look to

be a top herd bull look! As the sale has come closer there have been many a days in which I have thought about keeping him, but we feel DOUBLE BAR D THUNDER 273X(T) IPU WALLY 97Y his genetic potential should be shared with another herd. 18D was DOUBLE BAR D THUNDER 272A EHRS MISS WALLY(P) kept as back up bull last year and was bred to a few top commercial MFI MALITA 9200 SKYRIDGE SCARLETT 2W(P) cows and we have been very happy with his calves. We are retaining the right to draw semen for in herd use from this bull. We would like to use his genetics in our herd but, being related to both our herd sires we couldn’t justify keeping such a good bull having limited use for him. This bull has everything going for him smooth polled awesome dark red hair coat, heavily pigmented make him a truly eye catching herd sire. 18D is long like a freight train and as thick as they come. He also has a puppy dog temperament which is sure to pass on to his offspring. His dam is on the fast track to becoming one of the top cows of the herd. She has since given us two daughters that won’t be leaving the herd. Words really don’t do this bull justice and to see his true potential come see him sale day, or walk the pen with him on the farm. Retaining the right to draw semen at our expense and owner’s convenience to be used for in herd use only.

Here’s a bull that’s been a standout herd sire prospect from day one. Raised by a first calf heifer we purchased from Antrim Simmentals. Hitting the ground at only 72 lb he would be an excellent heifer bull. This bull is polled and very well balanced with a small head and smooth front shoulders. His depth of body is even from front to back and he’s got a nice straight wide top on him. He’s solid dark red with just two white socks and has great facial pigmentation with just a money stripe down his face. Great disposition and super easy to handle all wrapped up in a calving ease package. We purchased his sire in 2015 he has been our go to for breeding heifers ever since and 16E will do the same for you.

CE -5.5

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come out and attend the Third Annual TRI-N Charolais Farms and Guests Bull Sale. We are very thankful to have been given this chance to join the Nykoliations and other producers in this sales event, and have the opportunity to promote our sires and females in the cattle community. Silver Creek Farms is a 4th generation family farm located near Angusville, Manitoba, along highway 45. We run a mixed cattle and grain operation with 220 breeding stock comprised of purebred Red Angus and Black Angus, as well as commercial cattle and 2500 acres of cropland. The Angus breed has come full circle on our farm, as our great-grandfather started out with Black Angus, subsequent generations venturing off to try other breeds, but eventually going back to the Angus breed when Clayton purchased a foundation stock of select purebred Red Angus heifers from the Hamco Cattle Company. We are dedicated to raising high quality cattle and strive to produce cows with excellent maternal strengths and exceptional breeding bulls. Our operation is built on true family values, trust and dependability. We believe in “quality not quantity” therefore, we only keep bulls and females that will enhance our operation, as well as yours. We select only the top animals from our purebred Angus herd and keep 10% of the bulls and 25% of the females. Since acquiring the purebred Angus stock in 2012, we have not purchased any herd sires for the cows on the commercial side of our operation. If they are good enough to sell, then they are definitely good enough to use on our own herd. After weaning, the bulls are put on a rolled oat and corn ration to ensure proper growth and development. We are very pleased with our decision to enter the purebred world with the Angus breed. The cross-breeding potential with the Angus breed is never ending and the strong traits of calving ease, easy fleshing and high rate of gain, and their Angus vigor at birth still makes them an excellent and popular choice for any operation, big or small. We trust you will be satisfied with any animals from our herd. HERD HEAlTH: Our vaccination program consists of MVL vaccine, (IBR, BVD 1 and 2, BRSV), Tasvax8 (Blackleg) and Ivermectin Pour-On for both the cow herd and calves.
