Welcome to the 2017 Canadian National Charolais Royalty Show and Sale Going with the theme of Brandon, known as the Wheat King city, it was only fitting to call this the Royalty sale. We are sure that the offering will also provide you with extra royalties in your operations. We are very excited to be working with the enthusiastic Charolais breeders in the province of Manitoba this year, and invite you to come and enjoy the Friendly Manitoba hospitality. The facility at the Keystone Centre in Brandon is first class and it is great to have the National here again. We are very pleased with the quality of genetics that we are presenting from across North America. The breeders wanted to put their best forward and they did just that. There are some lead time genetics, right from embryo lots to donor quality females consigned. There are picks of entire herds and programs that allow you some fantastic opportunities. There is also a great selection of top heifer
calves that will show and then become females to build a program around. Many of these are the first time the genetics are offered for sale in Canada. With the 2018 Canadian Charolais Youth Association Conference and Show in Brandon next summer the consignors will work with those from out of province that want to have them keep the heifers, breed them and deliver them to the show next July. Please talk to any of the consignors about working with you on this. Besides the exciting sale, there is a great Jackpot Bull Calf Show where some of the best herdsire prospects will be competing. It will be a fantastic couple of days capped off with the National Show, with entries from four provinces making it a truly National event. If we can be of any assistance or get you more information before the sale to help facilitate your purchasing, please don’t hesitate to contact us, any of the sale staff or consignors. Always in the best interest of Charolais, Helge & Candace By

Cattle that excel under ranching conditions…
ROS 4X is a daughter of 10U shown in 2015. She is the dam of a herdsire running at JMB Charolais, MB
JR 412P • A polled Full French female
ROS 14Z • A Roundup daughter that produced a $9600 bull in our 2017 Bull Sale
Rosso Charolais borders Saskatchewan’s largest saline water body, known as Old Wives Lake in the Missouri Coteau Hill Ranch, southwest of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The native grass is short, so our cows need to be able to adapt and produce. We are excited to offer Pick of Our Females in the 2017 National Charolais Sale. We have been in the Charolais business for over 35 years. During this time, virtually no females have been offered for sale. The cows are managed under ranch conditions and are expected to produce on their own. Structural soundness, fertility, longevity/doability, maternal power and performance are the key traits selected for on the ranch.
ROS 17Z - Roundup daughter
95% of our females calve on their own on the grass in April and May, almost a mile from the yard. We calve later because we sell into a two year old bull market. A handful of females calve in January and February. There are 150 females to select from, of which 25 are Merit Roundup 9608W daughters. In 2017, our females were exposed to: • Rosso Double Down 8Z • WMM Arthur 328A • Rammer Kristoff 515C
ROS 6B • One of 20 LAE X-Ceptional 46X daughters to choose from
• McTavish Hot Hand 34D • MXS Irresistibull 357A • Brimner Bull 36D

Observed bred April 13th to HTA Astroid 603D, preg checked safe to this date. Exposed April 15 - May 30 to Pleasant Dawn Legen 1C. Here is a thick-made, hairy, brood cow in the making with an extremely quiet disposition. Hot Stuff has been a stand out since birth. This is a heifer that comes from a strong cow family. Her mother and grandmother are both strong producing females in our herd. Hot Stuff has a full brother in the bull pen this year and he is one of the top prospects for our up and coming bull sale. 643D was one of the heifers in a pair that placed first at the MCA Pen Show at the end of July. There is no doubt she has potential. We paired that potential with our new junior herdsire, HTA Astroid 603D. We retained this Bravia son out of a 10 year old Dam of Distinction cow with a perfect udder and feet. He was the heaviest calf in the pen at weaning and at yearling and his disposition is hard to beat. Astroid is homo polled and Leptin TT. The pairing with Astroid is likely to be one that is out of this world! As an added incentive, HTA would like to offer to take HTA Hot Stuff 643D home and calve her out for you. Please give us a call if you have any questions on the opportunity to own this promising female. Service Sire: HTA Astroid 603D

McCaw Flush in Pick of the Herd Consigned by McCaw Livestock, Wacey McCaw, Whitewood • 306.471.0093
OPPORTUNITY is knocking and the door is left open here for you to make the decision of the decade when the hammer drops. We aren’t holding anything back with this flush opportunity here. The cattle that we have selected to be our herd matrons are sound, stout and moderate. There are choices with these cows that you could utilize in any way – to make show heifers – the next donor females at your operation – or even the Charolais breed’s next great herdsire. This is an opportunity that you can’t let pass… it just may not become available again… A few examples of some great matrons to choose from are: • SB 411A, the pick of Sparrow cow herd • BKJ 839U, the pick of the Winn Man cow herd • CJC A735, a Denver sale highlight in 2015 from Debruckyer Charolais, in Montana • JWX 983B and JWX 983C, highlight cows purchased from Wilgenbush Charolais SB 411A
• RPJ 8124U, one of our highlight cows purchased at the Perrot-Martin dispersal
Progeny from these females: Guaranteeing 6 embryos and two 90 day pregnancies, if done by a certified technician. Call for more details.

RBM FARGO 111Y
McLeod Livestock is pleased to offer choice on the following 3 lots:
5 embryos sired by RBM Fargo 111Y out of CML Wilma 3S
Here is a rare opportunity to purchase embryos from the top producing donor cow in our program. Wilma is a herdbull producing machine. She is the dam of CML Diablo 2X, 2012 Denver Champion Bull, CML Encore 4Y, 2013 US National Reserve Champion Bull and 2013 Canadian National Champion Bull, CML Heisman 413B, CML Touchdown 414B, CML Exacta 514C and this fall, we will be introducing you to her 2017 son sired by CJC Trademark H45. We also have 15 daughters of hers that are in our two-year old, three-year old and heifer calf pen. This cow has done it all and these will probably be the last embryos ever to be offered from her. These embryos are frozen and are stored at Davis-Rairdan Embryo, Crossfield, AB. McLeod Livestock will guarantee 2 pregnancies if the embryos are put into recips at Davis Rairdan. McLeod Livestock has recips already reserved for implanting with the resulting calves being born January 2019.
GERRARD EVETTA 39Y
20 straws of Semen from RBM Fargo 111Y
This semen is limited for use only in the herd of the successful bidder. It will be sold to one breeding operation only and can only be used on cows owned by that breeding operation. This will be the only Fargo semen that will be made available for the 2018 breeding season.
CML WILMA 3S
We are very excited to announce that McLeod Livestock has purchased the exclusive Canadian Semen rights on RBM Fargo 111Y. Fargo brings proven progeny data to his EPD profile. His superior feet, 40 cm scrotal at a year of age and quiet temperament are the icing on the cake. His dam is a proven donor with multiple sons in purebred herds and was the pick of the two-year olds at Hebbert Charolais, KS, and is a daughter of the maternal giant, LT Easy Pro. RMB Fargo is homozygous polled, outcross, proven genetics. Use to improve feet, natural muscle and udder shape. Owned with Lindskov-Thiel Charolais, SD, R Lazy B Ranch, ND and RBM Livestock, SD.
5 embryos sired by RBM Fargo 111Y out of Gerrard Evetta 39Y
Here is an opportunity to purchase embryos from the 2011 Agribition Jr Heifer Calf Champion. Evetta 39Y is the dam of CML Envy 626D, sired by CML Heisman 413B, that was the 2016 Farmfair International Bull Calf Champion and 2016 Alberta Select Reserve Champion Bull. CML Envy 626D was our second high selling bull in our 2017 Bull Sale selling to Acadia Colony Farming for $14,000. She is also the mother to CML Notorious 617D, sired by CML Diablo 2X, a bull that we had planned to walk our pastures in 2017 but Alta Genetics made us an offer we couldn’t refuse and purchased him he to be the headline sire in their international semen program. A daughter of hers, Sunrise Houdini JBF 34D, was also a class winner for Sunrise Charolais, ON, at last year’s Canadian National Show held at the Toronto Royal. This cow has done it all and once again one of her sons sired by CML Heisman 413B was the heaviest calf at weaning time and will be a feature bull in our 2018 bull sale.

What an opportunity! We are offering one successful flush (guaranteeing 6 grade 1 embryos, buyer takes them all) in one of the most sought after pedigrees in the U.S. This is the first flush we have offered in this donor since we purchased Lovely as the high selling open heifer in the 2015 US National Sale. Since then, her full brothers have been lighting up the sale ring. She is a full-sister to NGC Celebrate 508C ET, who set an Iowa Beef Expo record selling for $41,000, as well as NGC Lender who sold for $18,000 in 2015 Iowa Beef Expo sale. Her stacked pedigree includes powerhouse genetics including M6 Ms H45 Nancy 382 ET, VCR Sir Duke 761, and LT Ledger 0332 P, one of the most popular sires in the breed. These cattle combine performance and muscle in an eye appealing package. We will help arrange an exportable flush to the sire of the buyer’s choice with the buyer paying all flush expenses, semen, and shipping.

Cigar is one of those timeless sires who has proven himself time and again with sound productive offspring. His daughters have tremendous longevity because of the superior udder type and great feet and leg structure. There were over 1000 progeny registered in Canada, of which over 250 were daughters in production and 3600 progeny registered in the USA, with over 1200 being daughters in production. This is a very unique offering with virtually no semen left around and the last that sold in the USA was highly sought after. Shipping to ON, SK, AB will be $25 per lot or total if purchased by the same buyer.
