Cattle enthusiasts judged by voting online.

2020 Agribition Evolution Series Any Other Breed Show Judges: Aaron Birch & Joe Barnett, Parkbeg GH 714E HARDCORE ET 85H (CML Copyright 714E ET), NelsonHirsche Purebreds, Del Bonita, AB, was named Grand Champion Bull Calf, Any Other Breed. HKS MS KENZIE 137G (Whitecap Embargo 7E), Howe Coulee Charolais, Moose Jaw, was chosen as the Reserve Champion Yearling Heifer, Any Other Breed. 2020 Agribition Junior Spotlight HKS MS KENZIE 137G, exhibited by Elise Howe, Howe Coulee Charolais, won Grand Champion Any Other Breed Female and Reserve Champion Female in the Junior Spotlight show.

2020 Agribition Virtual Youth Judging Competition Madisyn Robertson, Neepawa, MB, was named the Overall Intermediate Judge in the youth competition. Madisyn is a CCYA Alumni and daughter of Daylse and Paul Robertson, Hardrock Land & Cattle Co. Participants in this virtual competition judged classes of market hogs, light horses, bull calves, bred heifer and finished steers. Depending on their age group, they gave oral reasons on the classes assigned to them.

Grant Shuttleworth

Grant Ralston Shuttleworth passed away March 21, 2020, at the age of 88. Grant was born in Calgary, Alberta, and was raised on the family farm at Balzac. Grant attended Buttes School, and then completed his high school at Mount Royal. After graduation, he took Agriculture Mechanics at SAIT. Grant spent his life farming and raising purebred

Charolais cattle in the Balzac area. Grant was a pioneer in the purebred Charolais business. He was a founder of the South Central Alberta Charolais Breeders group 40 years ago. His son, Darryl, and family carry on the cattle operation as Charworth Charolais Ltd. He enjoyed travelling; visiting many destinations around the world, sharing these experiences with family and friends. He also took pleasure in cheering on the Stampeders and Flames. He was very active in various volunteer organizations, including

Balzac United Church, Samaritan’s Purse, the Calgary Stampede, Nose Creek Historical Society, the Airdrie and District Museum Society, Alberta 4-H, and Medical Mercy Canada. In addition to his community involvement, he cherished time with family. Besides his loving wife Katherine, of sixty-two years, Grant is survived by his children, Wayne (Sharon), Karen (Dave) Kosa and Darryl (Maria); and seven grandchildren, Russell, Laura, Nicholas, Joel, Amber, Alex, and Rebecca.
