PROJECT DIRECTOR FOR COLLEGIATE EXPANSION Grand Vice President for Collegiate Affairs Lexie Turner (Alpha Iota) I am pleased to announce the appointment of Breann Williams (Psi) as Project Director of Collegiate Expansion. This new position is appointed by the Grand President as project director and will collaborate with the GVPCA to assist colonies in completing the steps of the chartering and reactivation processes. Breann was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin “Go Packers!” After graduating high school, she was accepted into Drake University’s Doctorate of Pharmacy program and made the move Breann Williams (Psi) to Des Moines, Iowa. Breann was initiated into the Psi Chapter of Phi Delta Chi in the Fall of 2007. She quickly discovered the passion that the Psi Brothers have for Phi Delta Chi was contagious and caught the bug. During her time on campus Breann has held the offices of Worthy Alumni Liaison, Worthy Vice Counselor, and Worthy Correspondent. She was also privileged to be Assistant Executive Director of “Up Til’ Dawn” letter writing campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital raising roughly $20,000 for the Prescription for Hope Campaign. Breann’s proudest achievement as a Phi Delta Chi Brother thus far is having been an influential member of her Chapter during its two consecutive Thurston Cups wins.

Breann is currently completing her advanced practice rotations and loving each new experience. She plans to pursue a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency after graduation. Ideally, Breann hopes to find a program that offers both acute and ambulatory care experiences. Her long term goal is to find an area of pharmacy that she loves and is passionate about and turn it into a career that allows her to be influential in patients’ lives. “My job would not just be a job, but a career where I love going to work and collaborating with people that can push me to be a better practitioner.” Breann also hopes to find a place with variety and the flexibility so that she may stay involved with pharmacy organizations as a leader. “Phi Delta Chi has provided me with amazing opportunities and has developed me into a leader and pharmacist beyond anything I thought when I first joined. I feel that this position is an excellent way for me to start giving back to the organization and the profession of pharmacy. Some past experiences that will help me in the position include working closely with the Nu Chapter (University of Iowa) Worthy Correspondent this past year, guiding him in his role, and providing options to road blocks he encountered. I truly enjoyed working with the developing colony and was proud of what they had achieved in such a short time. The experience of being an influential participant and leader in a strong chapter will also be a great benefit in this position. Both of these experiences have given me views of both new colonies and strong chapters that will help me

develop stable successful colonies. On top of all of this I have a great respect for the work the GVPCA does and want to help her achieve her goals and further this great fraternity. I am looking forward to working with Lexie and the new colonies this year.” -Breann Williams (Psi) I am both excited and honored to be working with Breann. Her arrival on the Collegiate Affairs Team is perfectly timed to assist with unprecedented growth of our Fraternity. Building a strong foundation before a chapter is founded it critical. Breann will be an instrumental part of ensuring colonies are ready to be seated in our Grand Council and following up with them once they are chartered to ensure they have the tools needed to be successful chapter of Phi Delta Chi. Please join me in welcoming Breann to the position. AAAE,

Eric V. Fields welcomed as Project Director for Alumni Resources How do you share the knowledge and experiences of dozens of seasoned alumni with collegiate Brothers who have an interest in alumni affairs and alumni Brothers looking to organize? Toolkits! Many chapters have been using “Books of Wisdom” for decades to help transition officer positions, but currently there is not a dedicated national resource that compiles examples, guidelines, and expectations specific to alumni affairs in a way that is readily understandable for those interested.

• Gathering and packaging existing tools in a way that facilitates understanding and utilization. Welcome to your new role, Eric! Thanks for all you do for Phi Delta Chi! Pedal to the Metal for the 2012-2013 RDAAs! I am pumped to have an outstanding team of Brothers who have signed on to serve as your Regional Directors of

Regional Directors of Alumni Affairs

Eric V. Fields (Eta)

Eric V. Fields (Eta) is the man for this job. Throughout the past year as GVPAA, it has become clear that the alumni team is encountering Worthy Alumni Liaisons and alumni Brothers who need these tools to better support our Fraternity. For the past few years, Eric has been providing this advice and sharing his experiences as the Northeast Regional Director of Alumni Affairs, and before that he served as the Eastern Regional Director of “Collegic” Affairs. He has been mentoring generations Brothers (me included) since he became a Brother in the 1980s! The position of Project Director for Alumni Resources (PDAR) is a perfect fit for him.

Alumni Affairs for 2012-2013. This group holds the keys to unlocking the potential of your regions’ alumni. RDAAs will be in contact with each chapter’s Worthy Alumni Liaison to find out ways to help grow alumni activities. Additionally, the RDAAs will be reaching out to some of our alumni Brothers who are the most active with the chapters across the country to help grow alumni-led activities. Finally, this group of dedicated Brothers is doing outreach to some of our Lifetime Dues Payers to understand what they love about the Fraternity and what they are looking for from our organization.

Please utilize these Brothers as the great resources they are! The RDAAs can help strengthen your chapter and your alumni involvement! AAAE, Lindsay Watson Beta Nu #164
