Overview of provision The aim of the qualification is to provide individuals with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed to enter the Child Care sector. The units within this qualification will give learners an introduction into all aspects of caring for young children Entry requirements Young People must be able to meet the following criteria: Proven record of the ability to reach L2 (GCSE A*-C) in English and Maths by the end of KS4  Be able to pass basic skills test at level 1  Have average attendance of their year group  Have a keen interest in entering the industry post 16  Be successful through initial assessment and interview  Be willing to participate in a minimum of 25 days work experience Young people must not have anything in their background that would prohibit them from working with young children as a Full CRB check is part of the programme. They must also be willing to travel for work experience placements
