Peterborough Against Poverty Mission Statement Aims To empower users of all ages with the skills, training and opportunities to improve their chances of gaining employment with a living wage. To help community groups seek successful funding to improve their services to those in the area. To assist users through education, recreation and information, to make informed choices and to encourage them to take responsibility for their own future well-being. To work alongside Council representatives to achieve a shared aim in tackling poverty both long and short term.
Objectives: •No one should suffer or worry in silence or feel isolated. •Building self-confidence and skills to turn learning into earning. •Developing communities to enable then to become 'self-sufficient' as a support and learning network. •Reduce the affects of poverty by helping families improve their lives defined by their own individual need.
