GRADUATE SAVANNAH Savannah, GA

Savannah is a hip and historic city that provides amazing food, architecture, history, and hospitality. Savannah is known for art and design, with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) infiltrated throughout the city. The Historic District of Savannah remains one of the largest historic landmarks in the country and has become the center of Savannah’s lively community. Located at 2 Whitaker Street in Savannah, Georgia, The Graduate Savannah is a boutique hotel that includes an event venue and speakeasy. Each program type has its own design concept while still maintaining the overall brand of The Graduate Hotels. This 25,000 sq. ft. design incorporates traditional architectural features, classical beauty, daring patterns, and Southern charm.

MATERIALITY The materials are reflective of a traditional boutique hotel – each room type having its own identity. The coastal colors, textures, and patterns are vibrant and energizing to maintain the Graduate brand. The traditional furniture is incorporated as a nod towards Southern living.

Boasting one of the largest collections of tequilas, mezcals, and agave spirits in Savannah, On the Rocks is intimate, with a hint of mystery. Founded on the basic principle that no two guests are alike, On the Rocks has no cocktail menu. Instead, our guests can rely on the expertise of our highly trained bartenders, to help find a new favorite or forgotten classic. While tequila is the house specialty and favorite, cocktails of all kinds can be curated to satisfy every guest. The hidden speakeasy is the perfect place for drinks with friends or a night on the town. All the secrecy is well worth it.

SPACE PLANNING In order to provide manyBAR different seating types and sizes, The Pink RR 2Room was created. A private, rentable room that hosts large CORRIDOR groups is an ideal way to increase revenue for the bar as well as provide a small retreat for visitors.

THE TRADITIONAL TINI Norman, OK

Tools: Table Saw, Jig Saw, Router, Sander, Dado Machine, and Sewing Machine Year Completed: Fall 2021 Individual Project

The Traditional Tini is an anthropomorphic martini table designed to formalize and emphasize cocktail hour. The pleated fabric skirt mirrors a slightly seductive slit in a woman’s skirt, emphasizing the feminine aspects of this table. The hidden hoop skirt and walnut tabletop create formality and refinement. While small in size, The Traditional Tini is powerful and feminine.

Norman, OK Software: Revit, Enscape, and Photoshop Year Completed: Spring 2021 Group Project

Inspired by the feeling of home, the Bridges of Norman Student and Outreach Center will be a safe and secure environment for students to re-establish the feeling of home in their lives as well as embark on new, exciting journeys. The student and outreach center will create a sense of belonging and care using comforting furniture and fixtures, drawn from a home setting. Geometric patterns and varying textures create visual appeal and a youthful environment. Warm and cool colors will be incorporated to establish a versatile and pleasant atmosphere.

The student and outreach center will reflect balance, promoting unity and equality for all students. Both spaces will establish their own design elements while remaining harmonious with each other. An engaging yet comforting environment will inspire and reassure students and staff members alike. Bridges of Norman will continue to empower students while providing a safe and refreshing home that promotes restoration and healing.

COLOR THEORY Split-complementary color palettes use one base color and two secondary colors. The combination of warm and cold colors is more comfortable for the eyes than a direct complementary color palette. Splitcomplementary color palettes are very versatile and create a pleasant atmosphere, relating to the feeling of home that is promoted in this design.

In this color scheme, blue, orange, and yellow will be used to invoke serenity, peace, and tranquility.
