Would you be my Bedtime Buddy? My name is Coriander and I’m a precious kitten girl, just 10 to 11-weeks-old. I’m ready to be adopted so that I can snuggle up with my new family! I’m in a foster home now with several other kittens. We are all extremely sociable, sweet, loving, friendly, affectionate, active and playful! In addition, each of us is spayed/neutered, vaccinated and litterboxtrained. We were rescued from a local Animal Control with our darling mother. She is now a surrogate mom to other orphaned kittens. If you’d like to meet me and my other kitten friends, please text our Adopt-An-ANGEL foster mom, Melinda, at 910-471-6909. In the meantime, I’ll be dreaming of the day you walk through the door and scoop me up! Special thanks to Michael Cline Photography for capturing my cuteness on camera as I settled in for a kitten-nap in my little bed. Sweet Dreams!

We’re an adorable duo of kittens born mid-July. We’ve been dewormed, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV and FIV and are on flea prevention. We’ll be spayed or neutered soon. My name is Madelyn (on the left) and I’m a sweet dilute Calico with the sweetest nature. My cute little face will melt your heart. But don't let that fool you, I’m very playful. I like to pounce on a toy mouse and strut around with it in my mouth. My brother is Mason. He is a gorgeous cream boy and very independent. He is often found curled up by himself napping. When he is awake, he is fully engaged in play with me. He loves cat toys and climbing the cat tree. My name is Maddy and I am 6-years-old and around 50 pounds. I am a sweet girl who loves to ride in the car and am happy to spend my days relaxing. I’ve settled in pretty well at my foster home and my foster parents say I’m a sweet girl. I previously had a boyfriend who I was fond of and I am slowly remembering how to act around other dogs again. If my furever home has other pups, we should try slow introductions because I get so excited that I forget my manners. I like to walk on the leash and I like to keep the leash loose most of the time, but can get excited at other dogs and people that may be around (but I am working on it). I redirect myself pretty well at home with toys. I’ll grab a toy and keep myself busy. I do get bursts of energy, but take me for a short walk and I’ll come home and nap. I am polite to the humans and love to snuggle up with them. I know a few basic commands and am good at listening to my foster parents. I'll make you laugh with all the noises I make - farting (I swear they don't stink!), burping, and what can only be described as little dinosaur calls! I hope to find my forever family and enjoy life as a happy hippo. For more info on our adoption process, application, and fees, email info@mpbf.org, visit mpbf.org, or call Merit Pit Bull Foundation at 336-618-PITT. I am sponsored by Robyn Davis in loving memory of Louie.

We used to be a trio of chipmunk kittens but Theodore was adopted. Now, we’re a duo of chipmunk kittens named Alvin and Simon. We were rescued from the grassy area of a shopping mall. We have great purrsonalities, get along with cats and dogs and love humans! I’m Alvin and I have a big personality and love people cuddles and playtime with my brother. Simon is a cuddly bundle of joy who purrs when you look at him. We are very sweet, purring machines who can be adopted together or alone. We’re current on vaccinations and neutered. Please call or text 910-224-6068 or email thunderingpawsinc@icloud.com to arrange a meet and greet to adopt one or both of us. ♥

Hi, we are L-R Banks, Chester and Booker! We were bottle-fed by foster homes and are growing up and learning to play and accept love like kittens do! We are not quite ready for adoption but our rescue angels are taking pre-adoption applications and we should be ready in time for the holidays! Please make our holidays special by giving us forever homes of our own! If you are interested in learning more or meeting any of us, please contact RescueConnect by emailing rescueconnectnc@gmail.com or calling 910-302-7290. ♥

My name is Misty and I’m a sweet, female gray Tabby full of life (born 7/3/20). I am friendly with every person I meet and love to be affectionate with humans. I especially love being held, laying on laps and cuddling. I like to explore and play with ribbons. I get along with children and other cats, but have never been around dogs. I tested negative to FeLV and FIV, had my first round of shots and am on flea preventative. Call/text 910-224-6068, send an email to thunderingpawsinc@icloud.com, or message us on our Thundering Paws Pet Adoption Center, Inc. Facebook page for info on how to meet me. ♥

Hi, my name is Cecil and I'm a beautiful white kitty with light blue eyes! I am deaf so I am looking for a special home to care for me and allow me to ONLY live indoors. My deafness doesn't stop me from being a playful yet sweet Lap Cat! I play well with others, enjoy some pate snacks with my other foster kittens and I like to sleep on my foster mom's lap! I would do best in a home with another sweet, confident cat who would show me the ropes! Kids are optional. If you are interested in learning more or meeting me, please contact RescueConnect by emailing rescueconnectnc@gmail.com or calling 910-302-7290. ♥

Hey, I’m Jerome. I’m a sweet black and grey Tabby born 6/29/20. I was rescued from a car at 3-weeks-old and have been living with my foster family's adult cats and dogs. I love to play and cuddle. I have a high-pitched, cute meow and very loud purrs. I am current on vaccinations, have been dewormed, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and am on monthly flea preventative. My neuter and microchip are scheduled for mid-Nov. Please call/text 910-224-6068, email thunderingpawsinc@icloud.com, or message us on our Thundering Paws Pet Adoption Center, Inc. Looking for a relaxed, house-trained girl to keep you company while you watch TV? How about me, Junee? I’m a very gentle young girl who gets along well with dogs and children. I have so much love to give and I’ll add so much joy to your life. I like going for walks and will let you know when I have to go outside. I’m a Terrier mix who is spayed and vaccinated. Please call 910-512-8522 or email dogadoption1@gmail.com. ♥

My greatest wish is that you’ll fall in love with me! My name is Franny and I’m an adult Beagle and Hound mix. At about 50 pounds and 7-years of age, I’m already spayed, vaccinated, housetrained, leash-trained and heartworm negative. I would love to have a home to call my own and I play well with mild-mannered dogs (big or small). If you are allergic to cats, that's fantastic because my ideal home wouldn’t have any of those. I love playing with toys and going on walks. To adopt a real sweetheart, email jhinson6@ec.rr.com or call 910-499-1194 and leave me a message. You may also visit us online at www.ColumbusHumaneSociety.org. ♥

Hello everyone! My name is Dobby and I am making myself so comfortable at my new fosters place. My two Aunties are pretty cool! I am looking for someone to adopt me and love me furever! Right now, I am super best buds with my brother and we do everything together. However, I have not warmed up to the big cats who live here yet. They seem scary because they’d rather watch us than play with us. Also, purring is my favorite hobby. Anytime there is a human around, I am always purring. I will purr even louder if you cuddle me. Cuddles are the best! Food is a close second. So, who would love to have me as their own? To adopt me, fill out an adoption application at wagontailsfarm.org/apply-to-adopt, call 252-414-9219, or email WagonTailsFarm@gmail.com. ♥

Hi, I’m Daffodil and I’m a sweet, quiet 5-month-old orange female kitten. I am a bit shy, until I get to know you, and will cuddle when I’m comfortable. I’m fine with cats and kittens however, I would do best in a home with no small children or big dogs. I’ve had all my vet care including being spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you’d like to meet me, please call 910-200-0612 or send an email to otopcatnc@aol.com. ♥

My name is Rogan and I was brought to CARE by a good Samaritan who wanted to help me. I am very sweet, I love to lay outside in the sun, and I will never turn down a treat! I am 7-years-old and was diagnosed with Scabies, Heartworm Disease, and numerous skin tumors when I first arrived at CARE. I’ve since been treated for all my ailments and I’m ready for a new home! The masses were surgically removed, and though some were cancerous, they were completely excised. I am a particular fella who needs time to adjust to most dogs, but I don’t care for cats. I am good with kids and just want a comfy place to lay my head and rest. If you would like to meet me, please call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. ♥

My name is Leeloo and I am very sweet and talkative! I was taken to a shelter when my people moved. I’ve had all of my teeth pulled but that hasn't slowed me down one bit. I eat both wet and dry food and I love people. I’m ready for my forever home. Please come meet me at Petsense in Wilmington (next to the Harris Teeter on College Road at Shipyard Blvd.) or text my foster mom, Melinda, at 910-471-6909. My name is Loki and I’m an 8-month-old Hound mix boy who is looking for my fur-ever family. I came to CARE very sick and was in the hospital for several days but I have fully recovered from my illness and they say I am good as new! I’m a very energetic pup looking for a family who can give me lots of love and the attention I need. My favorite things are treats, my toy turtle and cuddles. I am very friendly and loving and just need a little bit of training for me to become the perfect family pet! I love my friends at Atlantic Animal Hospital and CARE, but I would really enjoy my own yard and spot on the couch. To meet me, call Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE) at 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com.

New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit Call 910-798-7500 to adopt or visit us on adoptapet.com and petharbor.com! ►Hi, we are 3-month-old Tabby brothers (A418705 / A418706). We are a bonded pair and we give each other comfort so we kindly ask if someone would be so kind to adopt us together. We can be timid and a little shy but we’re also entertaining and playful, too. At the shelter, they say that we are persnickety kittes but we really have no idea what they mean by that. They say it when we look at them and ask if there was ever any food at the bottom of our empty bowls. We work undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance. If you need two cats who know how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets; we might just be the pair of kittens for you! ♥ ◄Hello, I am A418089 or as shelter staff call me, Sweet Ole’ Lady. I am a spayed, approximately 10-year-old Seal Point Siamese. I was found as a stray back in mid-September, and I was in really rough shape. After plenty of TLC at the shelter, I finally look and feel like a brand new cat! I can be a little hard of hearing and my sight isn’t always the best but that is ok because I get some of the best naps that way! My sniffer works like a champ though, so I am always very eager to eat! I would love a home where I can focus on the three most important things in life: sleeping, eating, and giving love. I am spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and have been given flea prevention. Now, I just need a home with a nice couch by a window to nap on! ♥ ► I’m an adorable 3-month-old, black and white kitten (A418708) who is spayed. I am very playful, curious, and active. Every morning, I awake brighteyed and bushy-tailed and ready to play the day away. I love chasing the red dot and I never seem to mind that I never catch it. My favorite time of the year is the season that a tree is planted indoors with shiny things dangling from the branches. The world is my playground! I'm a cat on a mission: PARTY! I love to play and explore and test my limits. I'd love to play with you, but I can make a toy out of just about anything: pencils, post-it notes, potatoes. If you're looking for some laughs and someone to liven up the party, think about inviting me! ♥

►Howdy, I am Cowboy (A417418), a 4-year-old blue Pit Bull who weighs 73 pounds. I was found as a stray sleeping on someone’s porch back in early September! I was very quiet and timid when I first arrived at the shelter. I would hide in the back of my cage and submissively smile when someone would talk to me. One of the ladies here lassoed me and took me outside and then I realized that this place wasn’t all that bad. Then, I was always at the front of my cage ready to greet you every day! I would bark happily at anyone I saw so they would notice me. Days went by and my owner never came to look for me. I stopped eating and wasn’t at the front of the cage anymore to greet people. I just laid there and gently wagged the end of my tail when people stopped to see me. The shelter was starting to get full and had become very loud. The staff pondered if I was just getting depressed or if I had any medical issues starting to arise. I went to the vet and they thought maybe I was in the early stages of an upper respiratory infection. No matter what it was, I continued to still not eat anything. My spirit started to get better and I loved to go outside, but I still wasn’t hungry. The lady who was my main caretaker and the one who lassoed me that first time, then started to syringe feed me. I wasn’t the biggest fan of that stuff but I let her do it. Everyone was stumped how my hippo-self wasn’t eating all the groceries. An officer even made me boiled chicken and rice and came by at night to feed me - but I still turned my nose at it. Finally, my caretaker brainstormed with her friend and decided to try a holistic approach. Well, within half an hour, I was scarfing down that chicken and rice. Ever since then, I have been my big, energetic, full of love goofball self. I have liked other dogs here and haven’t really cared about the cats, but please bring your dog to meet me as a I can be a bit much for them sometimes. I love to play (ESPECIALLY tug-o-war with a rope)! I am not always the brightest crayon in the box, but I will make you laugh and I will always love you. I am really just the happiest dog. When I see you, I will wiggle my whole body with excitement. There really isn’t anything bad my caretaker can say about me and I’m a true ambassador for my breed. I am now ready for my forever home. I am neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, have received flea prevention, and ready for you! ♥

I’m Jaws, but don't let my name scare you. The only devouring I do is to your heart! At 5-months-old, I’m an Orange Tabby boy who purrs constantly and loves on everyone. I love to play and run with my furry friends and would love to find a family of my own. As you can see, I would be a great helper as you work from home. I came to CARE with a broken jaw, but now the only reminder of the injury is my cute, crooked smile. I am vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and Felv/FIV negative. If you want to meet me, please email carewilmington@yahoo.com or call 910-256-2624. I am sponsored by Atlantic Animal Hospital who supports Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (CARE).

My name is Licorice (45891589)! I’m an adorable, 2-month-old, black kitten who is already neutered. My lifelong dream is to find my forever home with you. Please call Onslow County Animal Services at 910-937-1164 or 910-455-0182 or email animalcontrol@onslowcountync.gov to adopt me! Sponsored in loving memory of Roxy.

www.wcleeuwenburg.com My name is Hammy and I’m a gray and white mini-Schnauzer boy, 12-years-young and 15 pounds. I was picked up as a local stray and my owner was found, but they did not claim me. My friends at the rescue were more than happy to help me because they know I have so much love and companionship to offer to some lucky family. I’m in a foster home now and my life is so much better! I walk well on a leash, I like to play with toys and I enjoy affection. I got to sleep in a very soft bed last night, too. I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. To adopt me, visit www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org, email adoptions@schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org or call 919-723-7145 for an adoption application. I am sponsored in gratitude to those who adopt from shelters. May your kindness be returned to you a hundred-fold.

Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab (FURR) Call 864-483-2444 or email adoptafurrcat@gmail.com to adopt! ◄Hi, I’m Inky. My outside color is a solid, shiny black but my inside colors are vibrant and bright! I have a seriously funny personality and you won't believe it until you meet me. I am totally silly and fun. I like to roll around to play with you while sticking out my tongue. You won't find a cat who is more entertaining than me. My personality makes me a total entertainment to be around! My coat is super soft and I am beautiful beyond words but, I knew that. I really am the cutest thing and I would be just fine as an only kitty with a human who will give me LOTS of attention and play time. I am only 2-years-old, but I act just like a kitten. I am ready to go to a new adventure and play house. ♥ ►Let’s chill together. My name is Netflix and I hope to stream all of my love to you. Look how beautiful I am. I am one of 6 little girls born at FURR! I have been played with and handled since birth and I am superduper sweet. I love to be around the action and I can run and play like the wind. My sisters and I have a lot of fun romping around and looking for trouble - but only the good kind, of course. My fur is really soft, so people love to hold me. I have the kindest personality and am very loved by the people at FURR. You will be totally entertained if you adopt me. The fun never stops when I'm around. ♥

►You won't find a prettier kitty than me! My name is Lilac and I have GORGEOUS blue eyes and my lilac points. I'm also called a Lynx Point with my striped legs. I am a rescued kitten and lived in horrid conditions until FURR saved me. I am healthy now, getting fat and loving all the attention that I get. My fur is super soft and I have a wonderfully kind demeanor. I am a teensy shy still, since I have never been with people before, but I am learning fast that this is the good life. I really think that once you see me, you will fall in love with me! How could you not.? ♥

◄My name is Google and I’m exactly what you’re searching for. My fur is really soft and I am just a beautiful Tabby girl with so much love to give. I am the mama kitty to 7 babies born at FURR. I was living in a horrid place until FURR saved me. I was about to POP with kittens, but luckily I got to be safe inside and I got plenty of love and food. I am SO deserving of a quiet and peaceful place to call home after raising this brood of kittens. I just love to be petted and rubbed. I have had a hard life for my 2-years on this earth. Will you be the saving grace for me? Please consider me since I am truly a miracle rescue. I would have probably died out in the woods having all of these kittens - plus I was starving when FURR found me. Usually all the kittens get adopted first, but thank you in advance for considering me! ♥

◄I am the sweetest kitten on the planet. My name is Roku and I just LOVE people and other kitties. My 5 sisters and I have so much fun playing around together, but as soon as someone picks me up, I start purrrrrring! You just can't imagine how adorable I am until you see me in person. My cute markings include little white toes. I was born during the beginning of the COVID outbreak, so my sisters and I have just recently been put up for adoption. I will totally win your heart when you meet me. I will run up to you for love and affection. I make your world a happy place! ♥

◄My name is Pluto and I love to play hide and seek. Now you see me! Now you don't! I am super playful and give everyone a chuckle. The great thing about me, other than being just so darn cute, is that I am very sociable with everyone and all the other cats, too. I am always right in the middle of the action, but I am a gentle fellow also. Sometimes, I get picked on by the bigger guys, but I can usually hold my own. I have a very sweet personality and everyone just loves to cuddle with me. I can purrrr to beat the band. Come and see for yourself. ♥

My name is Zee Zee and I’m a Bullseye Tabby boy, sweet as can be and just 5-months-old. My two brothers have been adopted and now it’s my turn! I can be a little shy at first, but after a few minutes I warm right up and adore being petted. I'm good with other cats, neutered, litterbox-trained, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to go! The shelter is open through appointments only, so please call the New Hanover Humane Society at 910-763-6692, email nhumanesoc@aol.com or message them on their Facebook page and let’s set up a day and time to meet!

If you’re the kind of person who believes an older girl like myself shouldn’t be in a shelter, but should instead be in a home being pampered, cuddled and kissed, then you’re my kind of adopter! My friends here call me Shy Girl (A124344) and they say I am polite and very sweet. At 10-years-young, I'm a Lab mix who is ready to give my whole heart to my human. Could that be you? My adoption fee includes spay surgery, a physical examination, heartworm test and rabies vaccination. Please hurry on over to Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services and let’s meet in the play yard. You can also call 910-754-8204 with any questions.

I am sponsored by James and Stephanie Mayew. Thank you!

CAT: Cat Adoption Team Adoption Event Every Saturday: Noon - 4pm at Unleashed in Landfall Shopping Center ◄I’m London, a 3-month-old baby boy who is this month’s winner of the longest whiskers contest! I’m a brother to Lily, who is also pictured on this page. Like her, I’m hard to resist, but if you need a bit of mischief in your life, I’m the one for you! I’ll zoom around at super-sonic speed, then crash into the sweetest pile of kittens for a nap. Come on, you need an adorable pair of kittens! ♥ ►I’m Ash, a 6-month-old boy with a gorgeous fluffy tail and unusual black fur with a smoky grey undercoat. I absolutely adore the company of people and other cats. Although much loved, I was surrendered after my human mom found herself homeless. If you could use a soft lap cat who rewards you with a big purr, you could be my new best friend. I could surely use one, so spread the word! ♥ ◄We are Milky and Cider, two energetic 4-month-old Orange Tabby kitten boys. We are incredibly affectionate and have huge purrs that can be heard across the room! That’s me, Cider, on the left. My front leg had to be amputated as it had been injured by an animal that attacked me. Missing one leg has not stopped me in the least! I love to run and play and tumble with Milky in a vigorous play-fight. Consider adopting one or both of us! ♥

▲Just in time for Fall's yellow, red and flame colors, we three gorgeous Orange Tabbies have arrived. We are Coconut, Lilly, and Howie, 3-month-old siblings who are the most good-natured and playful kittens ever! Please consider adopting two of us together since we are half the work. Or, in this case, maybe triplets? ♥ ►I’m Diamond, a big, handsome, 1-year-old Tabby boy. I can be a bit shy at first, but as soon as you wave a feathery toy around, I’m in love! When I’m done playing, I love to hang out with you and get some pets. If you need company this winter, I’m just the one for you. ♥ ◄Oh goodness! How can anyone resist me, I’m such a cutie-pie! I’m 3-monthold Lily and I belong to an entire family of tuxedo cats. Yes, my sister, two brothers and mama are all black and white beauties (including London, who is also featured on this page). We have our boxes packed and are ready to move into forever homes for the holidays. I would love to be adopted with one of my kitty siblings. We will entertain each other, have someone our own age to learn with and be besties for life. ♥

My name is Jessie. I am a 4-year-old Schnauzer mix boy and sometimes people call me “Little Puff Ball.” My story is very sad. My human passed away and I went to live with his son and his dog, Bella Dona (she’s pictured on page 20). Then the son died at the beginning of the pandemic and Bella and I have been staying with another human. He already had two dogs and needs to find us a new home (a forever home or homes because we can be adopted together or separately). I get along great with other dogs but I am fine by myself, as long as I am loved. You will never find a dog who loves people as much as I do. I love to cuddle and I get along with everyone. I’m already neutered, I’m vaccinated, and I’m also house-trained and leash-trained. Please call or send a text to 910-262-4480 if you are interested in learning more information about me or would like to be my forever family. Hope to meet you soon.

We are Teeny and Winky, a sister/brother duo who survived being born outside during Hurricane Florence! We were born smaller than most cats and have stayed small. Today, at 2-years-old, we are living in a foster home and are hoping to find our forever family soon. We are orange and white Tabbies who love to play together with toys and we enjoy snuggling with humans and receiving attention from them. Winky lost his eye as a baby due to an untreated upper respiratory infection, but it doesn't slow him down one bit! We’d prefer a low-key, relaxing home and we MUST stay together as we are very bonded and get depressed when separated. We are ok with small dogs and are fixed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. If you’d like to meet us or get more info, call our foster mom, Justine, at 910-546-6523. We’ll bring double the love into your household!

R.A.C.E. (Rescue Animals Community Effort) To make an appointment to adopt one of us, please call 910-579-0407. ►Hi, I’m Warren, a very sweet, 13-year-old Poodle who weighs 12 pounds. I tested negative for heartworms. I am such a gentleman, I love people and I like all other dogs. My favorite place is in your lap. I am looking for a place to settle down and I would love to be your companion. ♥

▲Hi, I’m Coco and I’m a 4-year-old Chihuahua. I weigh just 9 pounds, I’m fixed and vaccinated, and I’m heartworm negative. I love other dogs and I adore all people. ♥ ►Hi, It’s Brandy! I am a little over a year-old and weigh 55 pounds. I am a Boxer, Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull mix. I’m heartworm negative, spayed and vaccinated. I love people so much. I am still an active dog so I will do best in an active household with no small children or small pets. I love people and I’m very loving and affectionate. ♥

▲I’m Bolt (top left) and these are my adorable siblings. We are all 10-week-old Labrador Retriever mix pups. I am friendly and smart and I will be a medium to large dog when grown. This is my sister, Charlotte (pictured next to me). She is smart and sweet and will be medium to large in size. Next is my brother, Bruno (pictured below me). He is a really smart guy who will be a large dog. And last but not least, is my other sister, Pearl (pictured next to Bruno). She is as sweet as they come and really smart. We are all working on getting our vaccinations current and getting spayed or neutered so we’re currently taking application for new families to love. ♥ ◄My name is Cali. I am a 9-year-old Boxer and Border Terrier mix who weighs 36 pounds. I am heartworm negative, spayed, and vaccinated. I like to beg for attention and I am good in a car. Since I am older, I can be picky about other dogs. I’m house-trained and would love a calm, quiet house to call my own. ♥

►Mini Black Panther Alert!! My name is Kauai and I am very sweet and love to be cuddled. I am great with other cats and I love kids, too. All of my siblings have been adopted and I’m questioning why no one has come for me yet. Please come out and meet me at PetSense in Wilmington on weekends to adopt me. ♥ ◄My name is Shiloh! I am a wonderful 4-year-old Pit Bull who needs someone to love me and adopt me. I lost my home when my owner had to move unexpectedly. I am house-trained and have good house manners. I am devoted to my family and I love older kids, too. I have never lived with other pets before so I would prefer to be an only pet. If you would like to know more about me or would like to set up an appointment for us to meet, plese call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783. ♥ ◄My name is Missy and I was left behind when my owners moved. They left me and my 4 kittens behind to fend for ourselves. We were rescued by an Adopt-An-ANGEL foster family and all my kittens have found homes - so now it's my turn. I am a sweet, loving cat but I do not like it when you touch the base of my tail. I will need time to adjust to other cats but I become a loving companion once I get to know them. Please call or text my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783 to ask about me. ♥

►My name is Pretty Petunia. I am a low-key, sweet, and affectionate girl who loves a good head rub! I am a young girl who was found running loose as a stray and no one came to look for me. I seem to do well with older kids and other cats and I do not seem to mind a dog. I am a rare Tabby/Calico so you better come running quick. Won’t you come meet me at Petsense in Leland (1215 West Gate Drive)? ♥ ►My name is Nellie and I am a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois. I am house-trained, fixed and vaccinated. I am so smart and all of my friends find it super impressive. I have a little bit of energy so it would be great if I had a fenced yard to go out and play in. My new family needs to be familiar with my breed since I am not a dog for just anyone. Please call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783 to meet me. ♥ ►My name is Pacey and I am a teenage kitten. I am shy at first but then I PURR!!! I am a gentle couch potato and I love toys. There were too many cats at my first home so I am looking for a new home where I could play with maybe one or two cats. If you’d like to meet me, come out to PetSupermarket at 3908 Oleander Drive in Wilmington. ♥

Please text Jill at 910-620-3783 or Sherry at 910-523-1254 for dogs and text Melinda for cats at 910-471-6909. ◄My name is Millie. Look into my eyes and you will see a sweet and gentle Hound. I am an older girl (approximately 8-years-old or so). I am looking for a family to love me even though I am not young or perfect. I love cats and other dogs and love my people so much. If you are interested in loving me, please call my Adopt-An-ANGEL foster mom, Karen, at 910-232-5810. I have been homeless a while so it would be nice to finally find my forever home. For info, visit www.adoptanangel.net or you can check us out on Facebook: adoptanangelnc. ♥ ◄Hi, I’m Sylvester and I am a high energy teenage kitten with a big personality! I love being the center of attention. I get along well with other cats and dogs and I play hard and love to wrestle. I would probably do well with another high energy kitten. If you would like to meet me, please come out to Petsense in Leland. The address is 1215 West Gate Drive and I’ll be waiting for you. ♥ ►My name is Iris and I’m a sweet, loving and laid-back girl. I love looking out windows and being brushed. I was found in downtown Wilmington (along with my kittens). I need to be on a diet of wet food only. I’m an all-around great cat! Please come meet me at Petsense in Wilmington, next to the Harris Teeter on College Road and Shipyard Blvd. If you would like to adopt me, please text Melinda at 910-471-6909. ♥

►Hi, my name is Eva! I am an absolutely fantastic Pit Bull. Folks who know me say that I’m loveable and friendly. I get along with everyone I meet and I have never met a stranger. It's hard to believe I am such a happy girl since I am an animal cruelty survivor. My previous owner was arrested and I was seized. When I first entered the shelter, I weighed only 28 pounds. Now 5-years later, I am almost 70 pounds and could use a diet! I had a home for the past 5-years but was recently returned due to my storm phobia. I am house-trained, lazy and really easy at 9-years of age. Please call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783 to meet me. I’d do best as an only pet. ♥

▲My name is Evie and I was recently rescued by Adopt-an-ANGEL. I have come a long way in only a few short weeks. When I first arrived at my foster mom’s house, I was scared and shut down. But I’ve regained my confidence! I have learned that I love getting head rubs and brushes. I have realized that I’m actually quite confident and love to explore my new surroundings. I love my new toys, too! I am learning that I can trust dogs and humans, especially the calm and patient ones! I am looking for my forever home. Will you adopt me and brush me and love me forever? If you’re interested in adopting me, please text my foster mom, Jackie, at 910-523-9719. ♥

Hello! My name is Bella Dona. I have a beautiful soul and I am looking for a loving home. I am a very sweet girl and around 2-years-old. My human died at the beginning of the pandemic and I have been staying with another gentleman who already has two dogs. Now, I need to find a forever family that I can love. I get along with the other dogs but as long as I am loved, I don’t need a dog companion in the home. If you would like to adopt my good friend, Jessie, along with me, you can check him out on page 16. I like to go for walks, I am not aggressive towards others, and I like to chill out in the sun. I never cause any trouble, however, when my human comes home, I usually talk to him about my day and let him know I much I missed him. I’m spayed, vaccinated, house-trained, and leash-trained. Please call or text 910-262-4480 if you are interested in learning more about me or would like to be my forever family.

Are you looking for a Certified Love Bug? Here I am, Inky, and I’m pleased to meet you! I’m at the top of my class when it comes to cuddling. The volunteers are always carrying me around (I like to be held) and I also have my Lap Cat certification, as lap-sitting is one of my favorite things to do! Yes, it’s safe to say the volunteers absolutely adore me. They know I will make someone so very happy once I am adopted! At 2-years-old, I’m an ebony boy who is neutered, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. I am also FIV positive, but it’s really not that big of a deal. Cats with FIV can live just as long as other cats, and our care is no different than any other feline. Just give us nutritious food, an indoor home, regular vet visits and lots of love! You can find out more about FIV online, talk to your vet or talk to my pals at SOAR. Their number is 910-457-6340. Please don’t pass up the chance to visit and get to know me. I’m an excellent companion! I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely to the Rainbow Bridge.

Merit Pit Bull Foundation For more info or to adopt us, email info@mpbf.org or call 336-618-PITT! ◄Hi, Sassy is my name and so is my personality! I love to play in the yard, help my foster dad garden and go for long walks, but I wish they would let me catch one of those pesky squirrels who keep mocking me. I also love rope toys and solving puzzles, but my favorite toys are boxes. Yes, boxes! I love to help you open packages (only if you tell me it’s okay), especially if you put a treat in it. I sleep in the crate all night, but if you also put a bed next to yours, I will be very quiet, too. I don’t get on things unless you give me permission, because after all, I am a lady. I also love to snuggle with my humans, and I have to put my paw around your leg if you let me snuggle with you on the couch. If you have peanut butter or frozen berries, I will love you forever! I am a little unsure at times when I meet people, but it only takes me 30 seconds to get to know them and then they’re my friends for life! A home just for me would be ideal because dogs intimidate me - and cats look too much like squirrels. Don’t worry, you won’t need other pets when you have me to keep you entertained. I am easy-going and would love a home where I can play, snuggle, and dream about squirrels. ♥ ◄Well, hello. Cece here! My foster mom says it's time to introduce myself to the world. That's not always easy for me to do because the world can sometimes be a big, scary place. But I'm learning to be more confident and I would love a quiet home and a nice human or two to help me along the way! I'm a pretty low-key girl and I mostly just like to snuggle with my people. I've already got a few good tricks up my sleeve like sit, down, stay, and even spin! I also know that "place" means that I get to curl up in my bed and relax. I love training and learning new tricks and I know that would be a great way for us to bond. I'm working on my leash-walking skills, but sometimes I get distracted and forget that I'm supposed to stay next to you. My foster mom says I'm getting so much better! Oh, and if it's okay with you, I'd really prefer to be your only doggo. I really love my people and I don't always like to share them. Though, I wouldn't mind having a friendly feline companion to snuggle with! So, what do you say? Want to be my new cuddle buddy? ♥

►What is named after a dinosaur, but snorts and snuffles like a piglet? Why, it’s me, Little Foot! Of course, I’m not so little anymore thanks to the nice people at Merit who gave me regular meals and soft couches to sleep on. All that TLC means I’m well on the way to becoming the hunk I was born to be. Now it’s time to focus on finding my forever home! I’m looking for people who want a partner in crime, and who won’t leave me alone too much. Foster mama says I’m a velcro dog - I don’t know what that is, but I do know I’m happiest when we’re together. I’m really good at walking on a leash, but I’m not terribly interested in long walks - in fact, the only time I pull is when we’re headed home. What can I say? I prefer playing tug, cuddling with my people or chewing on a bully stick much more. Speaking of treats, is there anything better than FOOD? I don’t think so, which makes me very trainable. Considering I still need some work on my manners, that will come in handy. I would do best as the only animal in the house. I just prefer my humans! Don’t I sound amazing? ♥ ◄Hi Everyone! My name is Kieren. First, I should make it clear that I’m sassy and I don’t have the greatest attention span – so forgive me if I get side tracked. Speaking of tracks, have you ever followed an animal’s tracks and chased them? Totes funz. I like to chase things. I currently spend a lot of time at a tattoo shop which is pretty interesting! Lots of people coming and going. I like people. One time this really big fellow came in and we played with my toy for a while. He threw and I fetched it and then he threw it again and I caught it again and then he threw it again and I caught it again. I like to cuddle so if you are sitting down, there is an approximately 129.66% chance I will try to lay on you. I really do love getting pets and love my walks. If you like to snuggle sometimes and walk sometimes, we’d probably be a cool match. I need to be the only animal in the house but that just means I get all the attention from my humans! ♥

Pretty sweet selfie, don’t you think? I’m Peedy, a Pit mix boy just 5-years-old and handsome as can be. When I was brought back to the shelter a little over a year ago, my friends noticed I had sensitivity in my back end and I seemed disoriented. They took me to the vet, the eye doctor and NC State Vet Hospital, but there were no findings on any of the tests. An MRI could be performed, but the docs believe it's something involving the front or back of my brain and most likely there isn’t much that can be done. So here I am a year later and I am ready for my forever home! I will never be your “normal” dog, but I sure do love being petted. I give kisses and I adore a blanket and treats! My shelter friends are hoping to find a home for me with someone who has some knowledge of brain trauma. I am sometimes nervous of new people, but overall I am just a happy boy! Please make an appointment to meet me by calling Pender County Humane Society at 910-259-7022. I am sponsored by the Furry Friends Re-sale Shop in honor and memory of all the animals who've passed through the doors of Pender County Humane Society.

My name is Betsy and I’m a very special cat. Due to no fault of my own, I was surrendered by my owner. I have been trying very hard to adjust to life at the shelter. I am up to date on my shots and have been spayed. Because of my age (11-years young), I am very quiet, I enjoy a good nap, and I would love to be the only cat so that I can get all the attention from my humans! Every one of the volunteers (and I mean ALL of them) adore me but they have other animals, so that means I need you to adopt me. I deserve to be pampered and cuddled! For more info, please call Carolina Animal Protection Society at 910-455-9682, email capsrescue@yahoo.com, or visit www.capsrescue.com. I may seem a little rough around the edges but I’m full of sugar, spice and everything nice! I am sponsored by Greenwood Pet Camp – Boarding and Pet Spa in loving memory of Duke.

I’m just 3-years-old, and I was pulled from a shelter in Bladen County. I am very friendly with people and I love every person I meet. Just look at this big smile on my face as I look at the camera! My name is Camille and I’m a 2½-year-old spayed pastel Tortie who is as pretty as a fine work of art with my stunning coat and green eyes! I’m a very sweet girl who welcomes attention from humans as well as back rubs! I’m also vaccinated, litterbox-trained, FIV negative and I’d love a quiet home to call my own. ♥

▲Hi! My name is Emmitt and I’m an 8-year-old Pit mix boy. When I was found, I was skin and bones and couldn’t even walk! The folks at Pender County Humane Society took me in and found out that I had heartworms. Now I’m finished with my treatments and am heartworm-free! I’m searching for a home and family to give me lots of love. I would be happiest as the only pet in the household. I’m house-trained, vaccinated and neutered. Call today and let’s meet! ♥

▲I’m an adventurous, affectionate kitten girl named Dee and I’m ready to make your life a whole lot better! I’m 10-weeks-old now, but when I was just 4-weeks-old I was found following a farmer around the yard. I’m now in a foster home and learning how wonderful it is to live inside! I’m a bit shy with new things, but once I decide all is well I will cuddle and follow you everywhere. I am doing great with the older foster cats. They are teaching me all the kitty manners I will need. I do like to explore everything around me until I find the perfect place to sleep or maybe look out the window. I am spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Won’t you please make an appointment to meet me? ♥

Hi, my name is Smokey! Do you like slow walks, watching the sunrise and a little whipped cream in your coffee? Are you willing to be patient with me and indulge my love of a good base-of-the-tail rub? If so, you could be the human I am looking for. I am a quiet, reserved older gentleman who didn’t have the best life before Carolina Basset Hound Rescue (CBHR) saved me. I have spent the last year learning to trust humans and learning that living inside is where I was meant to be (receiving love, attention, plenty of food). It takes me a while to warm up to new people but once I trust you, we will get along just fine. I would do best in a home without children. It’s not that I don’t like them but they are noisy and move around a lot. Sudden movements and loud noises still make me nervous. I would do well in a home that has another gentle dog. I don’t like to be crated but am house-trained. My days are spent lounging on my orthopedic dog bed waiting for the next treat or for my next meal. My teeth are a little worn so I do prefer softer dog food. I also like a little squirt of whipped cream on my breakfast. When the can comes out, my ears perk up because that stuff is delicious! Don’t shy away from me just because I am a mature fellow. I still have lots of love to give! I know how lucky I am and will show my appreciation by using my superb manners. I don’t jump on people or furniture, I don’t chew your things, I walk well on a leash and even when I play, I don’t get rowdy. Let’s meet for coffee (okay, just the whipped cream really) and you can see why I am just the Basset you are looking for. For info, call Carolina Basset Hound Rescue at 888-909-2387 or visit www.cbhr.com. I am sponsored in loving memory of KC, Babe, Grace, Beauty, Frodo, Sassy, Max, Twinkle, Casper, Coach, Flower, Nell, Duffy, Melody, Whisper, and Raspberry.

Cat Tails Please call 910-253-1375 or email cattails@atmc.net to adopt us! ►Hello, I’m Harley. I’m a 7-month-old seal-point Siamese mix boy. I came to Cat Tails with a small growth on my eyelid. It was just removed and that’s why my eye looks a little red in this picture. Once the redness is gone, you’ll really see my baby blue eyes. I’m very sweet and cuddly and playful and fun and, well just come meet me! ♥ ►A lot has happened in the one year I’ve been alive. I was adopted as a small kitten and then my owner died unexpectedly. So now, I’m back at Cat Tails trying to get myself adopted again! I’m an affectionate, well-behaved, 1-year-old, orange and white boy named Rusty. I’d like to end the year back in a home with a family. Can you help? ♥

▲I’m Taurus and this is my sister, Tania (pictured on the right). We are 5-months-old and the rest of our litter has already been adopted. We love toys, especially the ones with a person on the other end! We’re still a little shy but we’ll get over that after we spend lots of time playing together. If you adopt both of us, just remember that I have the gray spot on my head while Tania is all white. ♥

◄Oh, my gosh, I will liven up your house! I’m energetic and playful and I love to run and jump and play with my toys. But, don’t be fooled. I’m also very attentive and very affectionate and love to cuddle. If you have a warm lap, lots of space and would like to have a 5-month-old Tabby and white girl to fill both, please call, email or come by and ask for Toni. ♥ ►My name is Tiza and I’m a 1-year-old white cat. I came to Cat Tails along with my five kittens. One of them is black and white and the other four are all white like me. They have grown so much that they are ready to go to new homes and so am I. When I was tested, they found out that I was FIV positive but since I’m submissive, that shouldn’t be a problem. ♥

►I’m an unusual looking 6-month-old boy kitten named Squirt. I’m a ticked Tabby! That means instead of having stripes of different colored hair, each individual hair has bands of different colors (and I look like a solid color). It’s really hard to explain so maybe you should just come meet me in person and see for yourself. But, when you come, bring your carrier because I’m hard to resist! ♥ ►Two-years ago, a guy came to Cat Tails with a big box meant for a microwave and not a feline. He said there was a microwave oven in the box, but there were meows coming from it. As it turned out, there were fourteen little kittens in the box, and no microwave oven! I’m Lara and I’m the only one left from that group of babies. I had an eye infection when I was little, so one of my eyes is a little cloudy. It doesn’t need any medicine and it won’t get any better or worse. If that doesn’t bother you, come meet me. I will be your new best friend. I’m already spayed and I’m current on vaccinations. My life’s mission is to be an integral part of a true forever family. Could you help me out with that? ♥

Precious Kitten Alert! Hello potential new family member, my name is Rosie! I’m a 4 to 5-month-old baby girl, ebony in color, and I have a lot of love inside me! My story began when a shelter volunteer found me on her porch one morning. All I wanted to do was give love and affection. Unfortunately, the volunteer is very allergic to felines, but she did everything she could to take care of me until Pender County Humane Society could take me in. Another volunteer took me home for a few days until there was space at the shelter. I was great in the home and I loved chasing toys throughout the house. I think I would prefer to be the only kitty in your home, though. That way I can get all the lap-time! I’ve received my kitten vaccinations, I’ve been microchipped and I’m spayed. If you would like to see how adorable I am in person, call Pender County Humane Society at 910-259-7022 and let’s set up a day and time. Sponsored In Loving Memory of Our Precious Boys Milo and Rocco who have gone over the Rainbow Bridge. Mommy and Daddy love and miss you every day!!!

I am a very shy girl and will take some time getting used to my forever family. I do well with dogs but I do not really enjoy my foster kitten siblings. I enjoy a good head bonk. I would prefer a home on the quiet side with an understanding human. I have a ton of love to give. Could you be the person who gives me that chance? I have my shots and I am spayed, so I am ready if you are. ♥ ►I’m Hashbrown. I am a very shy boy who has been through so much. Thanks to all of my loving fosters, I am still alive. I was very sick as a kitten and came from an overcrowded home. I take time to adjust to new people but I get more brave everyday. I love to make biscuits on anything and once I trust you, head bonks are awesome. I am good with other cats but unsure about dogs. I would prefer a home without small children as their fast movements scare me a lot. Would you like to get to know me and be my forever home? ♥

▼Hey, Piano here. I am a sweet boy who gets along with cats and dogs. I also enjoy sweet kids who want to love on me. Most of my siblings have been adopted already and my brother, Tuba, and I wonder why we haven't found our forever home yet. I enjoy some cuddles and a good game of laser light. I am neutered and vaccinated so if you have any spare love to give, I don't take up much space. ♥

▲Tuba here and like my brother, Piano, I am patiently waiting for my forever home. I am not as outgoing as my brother but still have tons of love to give. I am fostered with other kitties and dogs. I am fine with respectful kids. I cannot wait to have my fur-ever family just like the rest of my siblings and mom. I have all my shots and am neutered. Could I please come home with you? ♥

We Go Together Like Peanut Butter And Jelly, Milk and Cookies, Batman and Robin! My name is ChiChi and I’m a 12-pound Terrier mix boy, just 4-years-old. Pictured next to me is my bestest buddy in the whole world, Odie. We’re an inseparable duo looking for a loving human or family to give us a home where we can spend happy lives together. Odie is a Springer Spaniel mix, 7-years-old, and he is so friendly! He loves to play, he gives big wags to everyone and he loves stuffed animals. I’m a people-lover myself and I enjoy playing, going on car rides and having adventures. Odie likes adventures as well and has just finished his heartworm treatment, so now we can run and play together! We adore human companionship just as much as spending time with each other, so adopting us will bring LOTS of love into your household. Give Paws Place a call at 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org with any questions. We are sponsored in honor of all the people who lovingly care for the dogs at Paws Place.

I’m a 7-year-old red Pit Bull mix (A419217) who is just 40 pounds. I was found as a stray and my owner called but never came to get me. Now, I am here patiently waiting for my true forever home. I can be a little shy and I even submissively smile at you. I would prefer a home with no other animals so I won’t have anxiety about them messing with me. I’ve had several litters of puppies and I would just like to retire now. I am a little clingy because I feel secure with you and will army crawl around to follow you. I am very quiet and gentle. I’d love a quiet low-maintenance home where I can be your best friend. I am now spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and have been given flea prevention. Now, I just need a home to call mine forever! Please call New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Unit at 910-798-7500 to adopt me. You can also visit us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NHSOAnimalServices! I am sponsored by Christy Lee. Thank you!

Breed Rescues We are all from different Breed Rescues. Please read our stories! CHIHUAHUA RESCUE & TRANSPORT

What’s better than a Chihuahua? Two Chihuahuas, of course! I’m Lucy (black and tan) and this is my brother, Goober (cream). I am 10-years young and 10 pounds, and Goober is 8-years young and 10 pounds. Our human was the neighborhood “crazy cat lady,” and our house was condemned. As you can imagine, we were living in a mess! We get along well with cats, and most other four-legged furry creatures. We are currently learning our house manners. Our foster mom is so patient and understanding with us. Also, we are currently in the DWW program (Doggy Weight Watchers). Before we came to CRT, we were eating a lot of table scraps and cat food, both of which caused us to pack on a few pounds. Now, we are watching our figures and going for lots of walks. We are both lap dogs who love to snuggle. You can count on us to keep you company all day and all night long. Because we are a bonded pair, we must be adopted together. We’re even better than double coupon day! If you would like to be a part of our pack, please fill out the adoption application online at www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application and we’ll have our people contact you. For information, you may also call Pamela at 480-601-0209 or send an email to carolinascoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com. ♥

My name is Missy and I’m a sweet, adult, salt and pepper Mini-Schnauzer. I am such an easy girl who will do anything for petting. I only want to please my humans. I was once obese so the rescue sent me to their vet right away and yes, I have Cushings. That is the bad news. The good news is that there is medication that I can take twice daily and it has helped my hair thicken, and I feel much better. More importantly, I have lost weight and am now a healthy 20 pounds! I am also house-trained, spayed, heartworm negative and vaccinated. I would love to find myself in a loving home by the holidays. Why not welcome me into your loving home? For an application, call 919-723-7145, visit www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org, or email adoptions@schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org. ♥

CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE My name is Nora and I'm 14-years-old. Yes, I am an older girl, but I have much more love left to give. Just ask my foster parents. They say I am good as gold and fit as a fiddle! I am a good all-around mature gal and get around just fine. I have good energy levels and my personality is shining through. I like people, other dogs, and am good in my crate. I will even use a doggie door! These days I am happy, healthy and like attention just like my dog roommates. If you are looking for an older lady with some pep in her step, I just might be your gal. I promise to repay you with lots of affection and tail wagging. So, how ‘bout it, want to bring me home? I’d love to meet you and tell you more about myself. My bags are packed and I’m ready for my own forever home! For more information, please call Carolina Basset Hound Rescue at 888-909-2387 or visit us online at www.cbhr.com. ♥

CAROLINA BOXER RESCUE Hello, potential new soul mate! I’m Duke and I’ve been through a lot in my 8-years: weathered storms and stormy owners, shifting abodes and now, these crazy Covid times. I’d love to find a place to process it all and share these golden years. If you’ve got the heart and soul for a grateful, gentle old-timer, I’ve got a lot of love to give. Kids and little dogs are a bit too curious and active for me. Big dogs are OK, but truly, I’d give a specially-reserved leap for joy to be your one and only Old Chap. I’m sort of old-fashioned as I love to retire to my crate for afternoon naps. I’m house-trained and I respect that some heirlooms are not meant to be chewed. That being said, nothing makes my snaggletooth happier than a good solid chew toy, especially one that squeaks. I’ve even been known to toss it back! I was quite the squeaky toy aficionado in my day. I’m a big-hearted introvert who will warm to others, but it takes some time, you know? I’ve sniffed a lot of hands in my life and sadly, not all were well-intentioned. A fenced yard with you in it works really well for me; I trust your judgment. My perfect next phase? A loving, quiet space with someone who takes the time to get to know me. Any and all treats accepted. I promise my love will flow. To adopt me, email carolinaboxer@gmail.com, call 910-799-5638, or visit us on the internet at www.carolinaboxerrescue.org. ♥

I’m a cuddly sweetheart named Django and I will rub and purr on you all day long, if you let me! I arrived at CARE with broken bones in my legs but, thanks to surgery and lots of rest, I am completely healed. I am now jumping on cat trees (as you can see from my photo), playing with toys and walking to my food bowl with perfect ease. I am a 6-year-old boy who is neutered, vaccinated and Feline Leukemia/ FIV negative. I like EVERYONE and am extremely loving. I enjoy children, I’m friendly to other cats and I’m pretty indifferent with dogs. Let me brighten your life by becoming your new family member! To learn more about adopting me, please email carewilmington@yahoo.com or call 910-256-2624 and ask to speak with Heather.

I’m on an unplanned journey and looking for a new home because my owner died. I’m a 3-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever named Bailey. I walk nicely on a leash, I’m good with other dogs, cats and children and I weigh about 50 pounds. I’m also house-trained and crate-trained (although I don’t need to be crated). I like to give hugs and cuddle! I am vaccinated, neutered, dewormed and on monthly heartworm preventative and flea meds. I would love a fenced yard to play in and someone who can be my playful companion. If you would like to meet me or would like information on how to adopt, please send an email to Cape Fear Rescue League at lambertpat54@yahoo.com or call 910-207-2071.

▲Hey there! I’m Genesis, a playful Shepherd mix gal, just 3-years-old, and I’m searching for a guy/gal (or family) who enjoys an active lifestyle. I’m into running, the outdoors, playing and being part of a loving group. I can keep up with the best of them and Iove daily exercise. Oh, I’m just as comfortable with belly rubs and affection, too! I’m super-smart and ready to find my forever family and play-buddies. Won’t you come and meet me? ♥ ◄Hello from the handsome Hound on the block! They call me Chester and I have the friendliest smile and I like to carry on conversations with everyone. I am learning my way and, being a bit older, I have a few medications, but nothing that will hold me back from being in a great, loving home! I am not a big fan of what they call the Spa treatment (baths), but I understand that if I am clean and a good smelling fella then I can cuddle on your couch with you! Come say hello, I will be so very happy to meet you! ♥

◄If you are looking for a sweet girl who likes getting attention from humans and dogs, then look no further! My name is Dana and I am a 1-year-old, 34 pound Boxer mix beauty who is looking for a fun-loving home and lots of couch cuddles. I am a 33-pound Carolina Dog, just 3-years-old, with lots of energy and a fantastic personality. I am people-friendly and love to play with my toys. Looking ahead, I will need to get treatment for heartworms but, once that is over, I can be the silly, jovial boy that I am destined to be. I’m looking forward to cuddling with my future family – will that include you? Please come out to meet me and see if you can be mine. ♥ ◄Greetings, my name is Greta and I was found as a stray before becoming part of the Paws Place family. Being a mixed breed (Shar Pei) is nice, because I have lots of personality to share with my future home. I am learning to be more trusting of people and not so afraid. The volunteers here take me for walks, and I love to be out and about! I would like to be in a home with patient and calm people who will shower me with love and affection. I long to be in a home where I can be all that I can be for a wonderful family. ♥

Hello, hello, hello! Happy to be here. Can you tell? They call me Bam Bam, as in here I come, here I am, there you are, here we go BAM! We fall madly in love. It’ll happen, I promise! I’m bouncy and fun and an excellent listener. The sound of your voice is my favorite song, and everything you say is fascinating. I’m a deep thinker, and a gentle chewer. Bring on the treats! Each one is savored and very much appreciated. Like a fine wine, slowly chewed treats and me - get better with time. I’m athletic and love to run around. Got a fenced yard? A track, or some awesome trails? I’m happy to run in circles, too. Enough sleep, enough exercise, and more than enough love from me. All this could be yours. Logistics of being with me forever and ever: I’m house-trained, I’m crate -trained, and I love to be around you as much as possible. Working on separation anxiety because who would want to be separated from you? Happily, I’m a hard worker and knowing you’re there for me, forever and ever, helps me progress every day. I’m good on a leash, and I’m excellent on your bed, your overstuffed sofa, your legs, your stomach or your head? Honestly, wherever you’d like to snuggle works for me. I’m looking for a mentor and a friend, someone who’ll help me become the best Bam ever. I respond to guidance, structure, and belly rubs. And spooning and stuff. Bam here, reporting for duty! SOAR (Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue) Please call 910-457-6340 to adopt us! Jill

Jack ▲We are Jack and Jill - a brother/sister duo who came to SOAR about 2-months ago! Jill is a little more timid than me, but we are both super-sweet and love to be petted! Jill loves to play with her green bouncy ball and I love to play with Jill’s tail! We are really hoping that we can be adopted together. How about it? ♥

▲I am Sweet Pea and I certainly do live up to my name! I’m only about 9-months-old and I’ve already had a litter of kittens. They all found homes and now it’s time for me to get some love and undivided attention. I’m an old soul in a kitten body! I’m very loving and I was even fostered wth dogs, so I’m quite used to them. Won’t you adopt me? ♥

◄Hi there, I’m Lexi! You may have seen me in PawPrints before because I have been at SOAR for a number of years. I am a beautiful girl but I do have some issues that have hindered my adoptability. First, I do not like other dogs. That means on walks or in the neighbor’s back yard. Second, I do I love to go for car rides! Are there any not like cats. long-haul truckers out there who would I will chase enjoy having a sweet sidekick like me for them and company and friendship on the road? I could would also love living on a farm or potentially hurt ranch under the right conditions. them if caught. That goes for squirrels, geckos, snakes and even chickens! Third, I am very loving but I do not do well with small children. Lots of noise agitates me which leads me to snapping/biting. I need a person who can be patient and calm with me but who will also be a strong, confident handler. I am a sweetheart who loves belly rubs, chasing tennis balls and laying in my pool! I was born to follow, you pick the activity: cardio stuff on the treadmill, navigating the agility course in the exercise yard, it’s all one big treat for me. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go for rides! Cars, trucks, vans, golf carts whatever! An over the road long hauler would be an awesome adopter for me! I would probably also be good on a ranch with big animals - horses and cows (again, no chickens or small livestock) with plenty of room to run and play to my heart’s content! I am approximately 6-years-old, but I still have the energy of a puppy. I am spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. If you are interested, please make an appointment to meet me as well as my handlers. This would be an adoption that would take more time than usual with numerous meetings, as well as training. It may seem like a lot - but I’m totally worth it! If I do not fit your family, but you know of a family where I might please feel free to share my information! (Serious inquiries only, please, and the household must have no other dogs, cats or small children.) I’m sure that the perfect person or family is out there waiting for me - I just need to find them! Please give SOAR a call at 910-457-6340 to ask questions or to make an appointment to meet me. ♥

Did you know that most Orange Tabbies are males? Well, I’m 3-year-old Billie, and I’ve defied the odds! I came to Cat Adoption Team with my litter of kittens and I was the most loving and patient mother. I did a terrific job raising them and now it's time for me to get the undivided attention and love that I so deserve. I’m laid-back and sweet and I take just a bit of time to warm up to new people but, once I do, it's so worth it! Please consider adding an adult cat to your home. You won't regret it. If you’d like to meet me, send a private message to Cat Adoption Team on Facebook, email catnc@earthlink.net or leave a message at 910-792-9014.
