Hi everyone! My name is Dixie Ann. I have been in my new foster home for over a month now and I’m loving it! My foster family said they couldn’t have chosen a better foster dog if they tried! I was a little nervous when I first met my foster family but it only took a few belly rubs to win me over. I am a Boxer girl and 5-years-old, but you would never know it by how much I love to play! The little foster humans make sure I get lots of play time, playing fetch and tug of war with me (I win almost every time). I love to play with toys: balls, squeaky toys, stuffed toys, and even Frisbees. When I’m not playing, you can find me snuggled up next to one of my foster family members. I enjoy going on walks and I’m great on a leash. My foster family has been slowly introducing me to their other fur babies (their house rabbits). I watch them sometimes but I never try to get in the cage. I just saw the vet and she says I’m perfect and healthy. I’m a very good listener and I have great manners. In fact, I get an A+ when it comes to sitting and staying, as you can see by my gorgeous cover photo! I truly made it easy for Michael Cline Photography to take some beautiful glamour shots. For more information or to adopt me, please call Carolina Boxer Rescue at 910-799-5638, email carolinaboxer@gmail.com, or you can visit us online at www.carolinaboxerrescue.org.

I’m a pretty little girl named Stella and I was found all by my lonesome in a parking lot! I don’t know how such a thing happened to a sweetheart like me. At 1-year-old, I'm a petite girl with a beautiful black coat and green eyes. I love to check out what’s going on outside my window as well as the activity inside. I’ve been to the vet and I came through with flying colors - I’m up to date on vaccinations, I’m spayed, I tested negative for FIV and FeLV and I’m litterbox-trained. If you’re looking for a gentle and sweet girl to share your life with, pick me! I'm at Southport Oak Island Animal Rescue (SOAR). We are open to the public on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, and on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to Noon or you can call 910-457-6340 with any questions. Hope to see you soon!

May I love you? My name is May and I was rescued (along with my kittens) from a bad living situation. In a story as old as time, all my babies have found homes, but not me. Mommies are always passed over in lieu of cute little ones. It's my turn for a happy ending. I am shy at first meeting but I’m loving after I get to know you. Would you be comfortable if a stranger scooped you up in their arms? I think not! But when someone who you love and trust scoops you up for a snuggle, there is nothing better! I would like a quiet and calm place to live. I would do fine in a home with other cats and patient people who will give me a little time to adjust. Meet me at PetSense in Wilmington, next to the Harris Teeter on College Road at Shipyard Blvd. For more information or to inquire about the adoption process, text/call Melinda at 910-471-6909, visit Adopt-An-ANGEL online at www.adoptanangel.net or check us out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/adoptanangelnc.

I am sponsored by Cindy Meyers in loving memory of Harley, Murphy and Sophie.

I am sponsored in honor of all the wonderful foster mommies & daddies who care for homeless animals.

Hi Everyone, my name is Clyde. I’m a Boxer mix who just celebrated my first birthday. I think I’m pretty handsome and I’m about 55 to 60 pounds. When I was a little guy, my people didn’t really teach me very much so I am kinda impulsive BUT the people who are helping me find my furever home brought me to this really cool guy named Jeff. He’s been helping me a lot. I’m here for 30 days of Enrichment Training (all I know is that I like the guy and he has treats!). I know how to sit, lay down and shake on command and I’ll do most anything for a treat. I’ve had all my shots and I’ve also been neutered. I also have a little chip in me so that if I ever get lost, my people will get me back. I’m learning my manners and everything, but I am still a puppy. Did I already tell you that I’m SUPER handsome?! I definitely need a fenced backyard so I can do zoomies! I would be very happy being the only pup so that I can have all your love and attention to myself. If you’d like to meet me, could you let my people know? I hope I can be your forever Valentine. Please contact Diana with Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue by calling 843-614-0231 or emailing freedombridgeanimalrescuenc@gmail.com. I am sponsored by Cape Fear Spay/Neuter Clinic.

FRIENDS OF FELINES Hello humans, my name is Skittles. I am looking for one of you to be my very own human. I am very affectionate and love to make biscuits. I take a joint supplement daily (Cosequin) for my joints, which ache after an injury years ago. I am approximately 8-years-old, up to date on immunizations, spayed and microchipped. Please call Friends of Felines at 919-710-3872 to arrange a meeting with my assistant. ♥

COLUMBUS HUMANE SOCIETY My name is Franny and I'm a Beagle/Hound mix girl who loves playing with toys and going for walks, especially during beautiful sunny days! At 50 pounds and 6-years of age, I'm housetrained, leash-trained, spayed, vaccinated and heartworm free. I play well with mild-mannered dogs (big or small), and am longing for a home to call my own. If you are allergic to cats, that's fantastic, because my ideal home wouldn't have felines. To meet me, please send an email to jhinson6@ec.rr.com or call 910-499-1194 and leave me a message. You can also visit the Friends of Columbus Humane Society Facebook page and send a message. ♥

My name is Betsy and I’m a very special cat. Due to no fault of my own, I was surrendered by my owner. I have been trying very hard to adjust to life at the shelter. I am up to date on my shots and have been spayed. Because of my age (11-years young), I am very quiet, I enjoy a good nap, and I would love to be the only cat so that I can get all the attention from my humans! Every one of the volunteers (and I mean ALL of them) adore me but they have other animals, so that means I need you to adopt me. I deserve to be pampered and cuddled! For info, please call CAPS at 910-455-9682, send an email to capsrescue@yahoo.com, or visit www.capsrescue.com. I may seem a little rough around the edges but I’m full of sugar, spice and everything nice! ♥

I'm Snowball and I’m a big boy who is declawed and approximately 8-years-old. Up until this year, I had a family and a place to call home. Recently, I had a few bouts with urinary infections and distress. Once it was determined I needed a prescription urinary diet, my owner was not able to continue my care. I am normally a calm and quiet guy. I need a low-key home where I feel relaxed and not stressed by activity or aggressive animals. If you can help me with a few of my special needs, please fill out an application at www.rescueconnectnc.com or call 910-302-7290. ♥

My name is Lenny and I came in to rescue because my family could not take care of me any longer. I am about 5-years-old, fixed and current on vaccinations. I am very affectionate, I love to be near you and I live to be petted and to get my belly rubbed! I do well with other cats and have been around dogs. A quiet home would be exactly what I’d wish for. I’m so deserving of my own home and I would be a great addition to your family. For info, call CAPS at 910-455-9682, send an email to capsrescue@yahoo.com, or visit www.capsrescue.com. ♥

Hi, I’m Bunny! I got my name from my stick up ears that make me look like a little bunny. I’m a sweet, loving girl who loves to run around and play. I am friendly with other dogs and am still kind of a baby so I could use some training to learn to be a good girl. If you would like to meet me, please call 910-256-2624 or email carewilmington@yahoo.com. ♥

My name is Daisy and I'm a very beautiful and affectionate cat who is looking for a true furever home. I am about 4-years-old and was returned to CAPS due to no fault of my own. I have been spayed and had all my vaccinations. I’ve been diagnosed with a mild case of Asthma, brought on by stress. The best home for me would be a quiet place with a lot of personal attention. I want to be loved! For info, please call CAPS at 910-455-9682, send an email to capsrescue@yahoo.com, or visit www.capsrescue.com. ♥

I’m Oreo, a fluffy black and white female kitten who is just 4-months-old. I was rescued by a lady who found me in her backyard. I am sweet and playful. I can be shy at first and will need time to adjust to other cats. I have not met a dog or children. I am spayed, I tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV, I’m vaccinated and I’m also microchipped. That means I’m ready for a loving inside home. Please call 910-200-0612 or email otopcatnc@aol.com. ♥

We then put her in a room and sat on the floor with her and she let us pet her. She was very loving despite her timid character, and we knew with time we could build trust and get her feeling comfortable with us.” It was an accurate prediction. Here the couple describe what life has been like since Gypsy’s arrival, as well as an amazing, odds-defying meeting with the woman who saved Gypsy’s life. Dill to the Rescue: “At first Gypsy hid in a narrow crack between the wall and the bed. It took a few days for her to feel comfortable with us humans, however she immediately came out of the crack when we brought our dog Dill into the room. She loves dogs! After a couple days we blocked off the crack and created a safe zone in a kitty “house” that she could hide in. It didn't take long for her to integrate into our household, only about a week. Her “She loves to sit on the arm curiosity outweighed her of my chair in the morning shyness.” while I'm having coffee and Sneaky Snuggler: “She is head butt me lovingly while SO loving! The most adorshe purrs,” says mom able thing is her love for Ashley Howe, pictured.

Dill. He is tolerant of her, but he's not very snuggly with other animals, so it's been cute to watch her try to sneak in a snuggle with him. Sometimes she's successful. And with our other cat, Chickadee, Gypsy will also sneak a snuggle in with her when she's sleeping.” Revitalized Household: “She has brought so much joy and love into our home. Dill is older and super chill, while Chickadee lays around mostly because of health issues, so Gypsy brings a lot of playful energy to the home in a way that delights us. She’s also a very sensitive kitty with so much emotion in her eyes and face. She is “She is generally a funny kitty and loves to play with toys,” precious and we have says Karen of Gypsy, seated at loved seeing her come home on her window perch. out of her shell and establish our family and house as her home.” Miracle Encounter: “An interesting thing is, we randomly met the woman who found and rescued Gypsy on the street! We happened to be vending at a Christmas craft fair right next to each other and chatted, only to figure out through our conversation our Gypsy connection!! It was magical, really! So she shared all the photos of Gypsy over the course of her time feeding and loving her while she was a homeless and sick kitty. The pictures of her when she was sick are heartbreaking. But the story is a happy one because this woman fed her and got her to trust her and eventually got Gypsy into a foster care situation which is what got her in PawPrints Magazine which led us to adopt her. Knowing her back story makes us appreciate and love her even more now!”

Howdy friends! It’s me, Brooklyn! I’m a beauty with an old soul and I’ve got loads of love to give my new family! Want to know something special about me? I’ve grown leaps and bounds since first coming to Paws Place in December 2017. Back then I was neglected, abandoned, and starved, but today I am a happy and healthy gal who is extremely grateful for the affection I’ve received from my shelter friends; so much so that I’m ready to be in my forever home where I can receive even more affection! I’m a 6-year-old Terrier mix who is searching for a home with a nice backyard to play in and a home where no other pups or kitties are present. I really enjoy running, splashing in the kiddy pool on warm summer days, and chasing a jolly ball at full speed. If I sound like the special lady for you, stop by Paws Place so we can meet! No appointment is necessary and we’re open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Call 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org for more info! I am sponsored in honor of all the people who lovingly care for the dogs at Paws Place.

Pender County Animal Shelter Please call 910-259-1484 or email jhorton@pendercountync.gov to adopt! ◄I’m an affectionate orange and white Tabby boy named Peanut (A039574) who lost my home through no fault of my own. In fact, my owners dearly loved me and were so sad to give me up. They are giving lots of goodies (bed, toys, carrier, scratching post, litterbox, etc.) to the lucky person or family who adopts me. At 7-months of age, I’m neutered, litterbox-trained and absolutely loveable! ♥ ►Hello there, I’m Dickens (A039575)), a sweet and friendly fellow who was found outside all by my lonesome! I’m a youngster at just 18-months-old and I have a soft mocha-brown Tabby coat. I enjoy being petted and am already neutered and litterbox-trained. I’d love to be your best friend and companion. Won’t you please take a ride out to the shelter for me? ♥

Open Monday - Friday: 8am to 5pm Open Saturday and Sunday: Noon to 4pm Please Adopt! WE’RE OVERCROWDED AND NEAR CAPACITY.

◄Your search for love has no doubt led you to me, I’m LoverBoy (A039546)! As you can see by the way I’m snuggling against this person’s neck, I’m a very affectionate, engaging and sweet family member-to-be! At just 5-months old, I’m a gray and white kitten who is already neutered and litterbox-trained. I was found as a stray, but I’m certain fate has brought me to you! ♥ ◄Are you the lucky one coming to adopt me? My name is Velvet (A039205) and I recently came to the shelter as a stray. I’m definitely used to people, though, because I’m such a sweet and friendly girl. At just 9-months-old, I am spayed, litterboxtrained and good with other cats. Let’s go home together! ♥

◄I’m a declawed, blue-eyed Flame Point Siamese boy named Vicka (A039584) and I’m longing to be back in a home environment where I belong! At 8-years-old, I’m a sweet and engaging fellow who is already neutered and litterboxtrained. I’m looking for an indoor home where I can be safe, warm and well loved! If you’d like to gaze into these blue eyes of mine, hurry on over! ♥

►Looking for a darling friend who enjoys being petted and will purr happily in your arms? How about me, I’m Christopher (A038206)! I was found as a stray, but I sure do love being with people and I even get along great with other cats. I have a striking Tabby coat and am neutered and litterbox-trained. I’m a kitten at just 7-months-old, too! ♥

We are two handsome brothers up for adoption through Cape Fear Rescue League and we must be adopted together. My name is Polar (short hair) and this is my brother, Benji (long hair). We are Chihuahua mixes who are between 2 to 4-years-old. We each weigh about 15 pounds and we’ve already been neutered. We’re heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and dewormed. We are even up to date on our heartworm and flea prevention. We do have some trust issues as we came from a place where people were not so nice to us. Our foster home has been working with us and helping us gain trust in humans again. We are comfortable in a chest harness and we’re learning how to play with toys. Our bond is extremely tight and we look for each other when separated. A home with other non-alpha dogs would be good with us, but we’re unsure about cats. If you would like to meet us or would like information on how to adopt, please send an email to Cape Fear Rescue League at lambertpat54@yahoo.com or call 910-207-2071. Our new home must have a fenced yard with no small kids and a vet reference is required. We are sponsored by The Tree House Gang at Saltscapes Landscaping. Thank you! Want to know something? YOU look like my new owner! Howdy, the name’s Ransom and I’m one of the newest chaps at Paw’s Place. I’m here by no fault of my own, but I’ve already made quite an impression as I’m quite a friendly young guy! I’m a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever mix and two of my favorite activities are running and playing. A home where I can have an active lifestyle would be great! Let me explain my simple requirements: Endless love. Warm lap. Abundant toys. Scenic walks/runs. If I sound like the pup for you, then stop on by and say hello! Paws Place is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10am to 2pm and no appointment is necessary. You can also call my friends at 910-845-7297 or email info@pawsplace.org for more info. We’ll have a fun and happy life together! I am sponsored by Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar in Carolina Beach and in loving memory of Bess.

All 4 Cats Adoptions by appointment. Call / text 910-707-4372 or email info@all4cats.org! ►My name is Bow. My foster mom says I am super out-going and love to explore. I am also the biggest lover. I would happily accept pets all day. I get along with cats and am getting used to the idea of dogs. I love all toys and am super playful. I have all my shots and am neutered. I am FeLV positive but please don't let that stop you from thinking about bringing me home. I get a couple supplements everyday to help my immune system stay strong. With that being said, the cats I can live with must also be FeLV positive or vaccinated for it. The adoption team can better educate my future family on FeLV. Please, can I be your best friend? ♥ ►My name is Miranda and I’m 8-months-old and searching for a forever home! I am the perfect mix of cuddly independence. Sometimes I keep to myself and other times, I’m following you around for hours (wanting to sit in your lap and give head bonks). I am a polite little lady who is very well-mannered. I’m good with other cats, dogs, and would even be great with kids! I am up to date on all of my vaccinations and I am already spayed. I am just waiting for the purr-fect family to take me home. P.S. I have white hair under my arms so it looks like I have arm pit hair! Hee hee. ♥ ►Hello, Merry is my name. I am a super sweet kitty who would love to be part of your family. I am very curious and will really enjoy getting to know you and your home. I love to play and snuggle. In fact, how about we curl up together on your couch for a Netflix binge? I get along well with other fur-siblings whether they are canine or feline. Could you please take me home with you? I promise to make your life and the new year filled with happiness. ♥

►Hi, my name is Arrow and I am a super sweet Snowshoe mix who is spayed and up to date on shots. I am super spoiled at my foster home and get wet food and dry food along with a probiotic and l-lysine as I am FeLV positive. Please don't let that cause you to overlook me as your future family member. I occasionally sneeze but that is it. I am overly affectionate and just want all the pets you can give and to just hang out with you. I am amazing with other cats (also FeLV+) and I warmed up to my foster mom's dog quickly. Please take me home. ♥ ◄Hi, my name is Baxter. I may initially be a shy boy but after I warm up, I am beyond sweet. One of my favorite things is being petted. If you could pet me lots, I would be in heaven. I also like feather toys, so we could even play a little. I enjoy the company of other cats. The cold weather is coming and we could help keep each other warm. I am up to date on everything and neutered. Please let me be your newest family member. ♥

▲Hey! Hey! Hey! Pippen is my name and snuggles are my game. Got extra room on your couch or bed? I would be happy to fill it. Do you enjoy a little game? I am a great player. I am also really curious so getting around my new home will be super cool for me. Have other kitties or a dog? No worries with me. I would love to have a sibling or two. Please make me your newest family member. ♥

At 8-years-old, I’m a friendly, loving, spayed Pit mix girl looking for a home where I can be the only pet. We’ll be best friends! Please come get to know me at Pender County Animal Shelter. What if you could find a low-key, lowmaintenance dog who might actually be your very own spirit animal? Look no further, because that describes me, Thorah! I’m a golden girl who has it all and I’m anxiously waiting to join your family! At 10-years of age, I’m a luv-a-bull girl whose only wish is a home with a soft bed to lay on, belly rubs and someone who is better at keeping track of my calorie intake than I am. I was abandoned by my family after 8-years because, in their words, “We don’t have time for her anymore." I’ve been confused and in low spirits ever since. I deserve to live out my golden years with a family who will cherish me, don’t you think? I am spayed, up to date on vetting and heartworm negative. I love people and kids but would prefer to be the only fur-queen of the castle. I am currently living in a boarding facility and just want to be in a home again. If you are interested in being my miracle through adoption or fostering, please contact my RescueConnect foster mom, Leanne, at 910-538-0106. You can't help but fall in love with me when you’re in my presence. My charm and sweetness just radiates. I can’t wait to meet you! Visit fb.com/A-forever-home-for-Thorah-108361561067283/.

I’m a gorgeous gray 4-month-old who is polydactyl! That means I have extra toes that make it look like I have mittens to match my coat. I’m new and I’m still kinda shy, but if you have time to play with me, I’m sure we’ll become best friends. ♥

◄▲We are the sweetest boys ever! We are both orange Tabbies, we’re both very handsome, we both enjoy playing, we both love toys and we’re 4-months-old. Of course, we’re brothers! We’re Vinnie and Van and we can fill your whole house with purrs! Please consider adding an adorable duo like us to your family. ♥ ◄Are you looking for a sweet and playful 6-month-old boy to live in your home? I could be the one! I’m Toby, a very handsome buff and white boy who is looking for a family especially a home with nice people and lots of toys. Maybe you should hurry up and come meet me! ♥ ►Hi, I’m a rambunctious, fun-loving, 4-month-old Tortoiseshell named Holly. Don’t you just adore my monkey face? All of my brothers and sisters have been adopted and I’m the last of the litter! You know why? Because you always save the best for last! There are oodles and oodles of homeless pets looking for a forever family. I hope you will pick me and allow me to shower you with love. ♥

►Can you believe it? I’m still here! I’m an 8-month-old Siamese mix named Niles. I’m a flamepoint so I have orange color points. I had a bad infection when I was small that left me with some scarring on my eyes but I can see just fine. My eyes are still Carolina Blue. ♥ ►Hi, I’m Ella, a 10-month-old Calico. I’ve been here for awhile and have been waiting patiently for a forever home. Do you think it’s because I was born on April Fool’s Day? I can promise you I’m no fool! I’m up to date on everything I need so now I just need some people to call my own. Please don’t be a fool! Adopt me today! ♥

▲I’m Ernie and I have beautiful marble swirls on my side. This is my brother, Ezra, and he is the long-haired one. We’re just 7-months-old. We would love to know how wonderful life can be as cherished family members. Please give us a chance! ♥

Feline Urgent Rescue and Rehab (FURR) Call 864-483-2444 or email adoptafurrcat@gmail.com to adopt! ◄You won't find a prettier kitty than me! My name is Lilac and I have GORGEOUS blue eyes and lilac points. I'm also called a Lynx Point with my striped legs. I am a rescued kitten and lived in horrid conditions until FURR saved me. I am healthy now, getting fat and loving all the attention that I get. My fur is super soft and I have a wonderfully kind demeanor. I am a teensy shy still, since I have never been with people before, but I am learning fast that this is the good life. I really think that once you see me, you will fall in love with me! How could you not? ♥

◄We’re Telly and Tubi, Two Terrific Tabby Twins! We two sisters are super sweet, hand-raised and have SO much love to give. We are not quite a year old and were born at FURR. Look how beautiful and soft we are with short-hair and lots of white accents: paws, chest and stomach. You won't find kitties who are easier to keep than us. We eat well, use our litterbox with no issues, play, play, play and then - we snooze. Then we do it all again! Please fill out the questionnaire on our website under the adoption tab and then you can come and meet us! We will be waiting! ♥

◄We are the "odd couple” but we love each other! I am Pinky and at only a couple years old, I have had a very, very tough life until FURR rescued me. I am a beautiful boy who’s snow white with pink ears. I am a big kitty and very affectionate. I was found as a stray and have thrived in foster care, so now I’m doing very well. I can't wait to be with Hooters in a home of our own. My BFF, Hooters, is a very tiny girl, about a year old. She is very attached to me and I look after her. She was rescued on the side of a busy highway. We look like the odd couple, but we do great together! We need a true cat lover to care for us and help us continue building our confidence. Both of us are super soft kitties, love to be held and can bring a lot of joy to our new family! Please come and visit us soon. Aren't we just the cutest couple ever? ♥

►Let’s chill together. My name is Netflix and I hope to stream all of my love to you. Look how beautiful I am. I am one of 6 little girls born at FURR! I have been played with and handled since birth and I am super-duper sweet. I love to be around the action and I can run and play like the wind. My sisters and I have a lot of fun romping around and looking for trouble - but only the good kind, of course. My fur is really soft, so people love to hold me. I have the kindest personality and am very loved by the people at FURR. You will be totally entertained if you adopt me. The fun never stops when I'm around. ♥

►My name is Grigio and I need a little help and compassion, but I am doing great! I am partially blind, but you would never know it by the way I play with toys. I am a very special boy and I just LOVE people. I would love to be the center of attention as an only kitty because I can't always see the other cats coming at me. It is scary for me and I just want to be petted, held and loved! I make funny noises and am very verbal. I like to express myself to show how happy I am. I love to eat and am getting a little pudgy, so I probably need to lose a little weight. I look just like a Russian Blue and my fur is soft. I have a few scars from living outside, but I am now healthy and ready to go! Just because I was hit by a car and had my face smashed in, please don't let that keep you from giving me a chance. I am one of the most popular kitties at FURR! ♥

◄My name is Crackle and I am gorgeous! Just look at my fluffy tail and my long, soft fur! I am the sweetest kitten ever. I have been socialized and handled since birth and just love to stick my butt up in the air when you scratch my back! Playing with my siblings keeps me busy, but I am ready for a permanent home! If you meet me, you’ll want to take me home because I am the purrfect package: looks and personality! Why, I could be a calendar kitty this year! I have three more sisters and a brother ready for adoption, too. I could go by myself and be a big girl, or I would love to be adopted with one of my siblings! ♥

►My name is Coal and I am an affectionate, eager to please, goofy, friendly Labrador mix. I weigh about 50 pounds and I am a perfect mid-sized dog. I do well on a leash and I am crate-trained. I would do best in a home as an only pet and really need a fenced in yard. I was found as a stray and spent a few months in a local rural shelter - so I am eager to learn how to become a cherished companion. I promise to love you forever. I will undoubtedly be a great family pet once I get comfortable and learn your routines. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783 to meet me. ♥ ◄My name is Kairi and I am very friendly, loving, social and playful. I am a young tuxedo kitty who is very unique. My owners had to surrender me because they exceeded the 2 pet limit where they live. Therefore, I am capable of living with other animals and I am easy-going. Please come meet me at Petsense in Wilmington next to the Harris Teeter on College Road at Shipyard Blvd. ♥ ►I was abandoned by my human parents after a nasty divorce. For 2 long years, outside I lived, observant and wary. Helped by humans understanding the burden I carry, I nursed and adopted out my last litter (+one orphan), recovered from malady, and finally eased my worry. Over time I felt like a normal pet again. I am Noomi and what you see is the new me. Initially, I may require space and patience, but I will warm up. Soon, I will play and hop around on my long feline feet. In mornings and at meal times, I will vocally greet. Although I may never cuddle, with food in my belly and after playful commotion, I will sit near you in total devotion - forever grateful for your kindness and compassion. Please call my foster mom, Lisa, at 910-398-1799 for additional information on me. ♥

►HOUND ALERT! PLEASE FIND ME A HOUND LOVER! My name is Goose and I am a purebred Blue Tick Hound who is about 1½-years-old. I weigh about 50 pounds and I am 100 percent true to my breed. I have a bay that I can win baying contests with. I cannot live in an apartment as a result. I am a companion animal and want to be with my person as much as I can. Therefore, I need a home with someone who is home a lot. I was adopted as a puppy, but as I grew up, I started to have some tussles with the other dog. A human baby was also born with a very rare skin disorder. I absolutely cannot hurt it even by accident. I was loved and my family was devastated to give me up. I am missing an ear because my mother bit it off when I was a puppy and went for the food. So, I have a real unique look to me, don't you think? I probably need a home with a fenced in yard and no other pets to be completely successful. I do love older kids, I am completely house-trained and I’m devoted to my people. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783 to meet me. ♥ ◄My name is Olaf and I’m a Hound/Boxer mix or something of the sort. I am a 2 to 3-year-old stocky fella who is full of love. I weigh about 65 pounds, I seem to do well with female dogs and I love people. I may have a little too much interest in cats so I can't live with one. My biggest love of ALL is food and I am a sucker for treats. You can get me to do what you want if you bribe me with a treat. I was homeless at a rural animal shelter for a few months before coming into rescue. Several owners ago, my owner used a pipe to teach me the rules and you can see the scars on my head. I don't hold a grudge towards people at all and live every day to its fullest. I thrive in a predictable environment and I am routine oriented. I need a fenced in yard to run around in since I am strong and pull on a leash. It would be great if you had previous dog experience because I would love to be adopted into a real forever home. I am tired of being passed around. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783. ♥

You just turn the key and let me in and I will act like I always lived there. I require very little adjustment period at all. I was rescued with my dad and littermates at 8-months-old, so I was never separated too early. It's unusual to come in with my dad and not my mom, but she must have had a home or was rescued first. We were passed around a little on the internet before we made it into rescue. I have the prettiest Tabby and Calico fur and it's kind of plush. I am in Shallotte at Petsense, but you can call Jill at 910-620-3783 to meet me if you live near Wilmington. ♥ ◄My name is Shiloh! I am a wonderful 4-year-old Pit Bull who needs someone to love me and adopt me. I lost my home when my owner had to move unexpectedly. I am house-trained and have good house manners. I am devoted to my family and I love older kids, too. I have never lived with other pets before so I would prefer to be an only pet. If you would like to know more about me or would like to set up an appointment for us to meet, plese call my foster mom, Jill, at 910-620-3783. ♥

►My name is Raven and I am a breathtaking Bombay mix kitten with deep velvet fur. I am the runt of the litter and tend to be smaller than the rest. But you know what they say? Big things come in small packages! I was rescued with my two siblings from an abandoned camper. I am sweet, sometimes reserved, and do love playing with my siblings. I would love it if there were other pets in my household or some kids to play with. Please come meet me at PetSupermarket at 3908 Oleander Drive. ♥ ◄My name is Lolly and I am a sweet, low-key girl. I was dumped at a local cat colony. Since I am so friendly, everyone decided that it would be best if I could find an indoor home out of the cold of winter. I do well with other animals and I would be ever so grateful to come inside again. Meet me at Petco on S. College Road. ♥ ►My name is Cheeto and I’m a 2-year-old male Chiweenie dog (a mix between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund). I am super loveable, gentle and submissive, once I get to know you and get comfortable. I would prefer a quiet home as an only pet with a fenced in yard. I weigh less than 10 pounds and am super adorable. I really need someone to adopt me with previous Chihuahua experience because I am true to my breed. I do not do well with change at all. I would love a predictable, consistent home as I am routine oriented. I am neutered with all my shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and come with a 6-month supply of heartworm prevention and my leash and collar. Please call Jill at 910-620-3783 to meet me. ♥

Hey guys, I’m an 8-pound puppy named Figaro! I’m a curious little boy and I just love to play. I am one of three male pups from a litter of four. My name is Pluto and I have been searching for love in all the wrong places. I am 3-years young, super handsome, playful and loving! My ideal match would be people who will make me their one and only. I am not crazy about sharing my love with other furry ones. I have learned some great tricks like sitting on command and I am a great listener. I would love to show you what a gentleman I am learning to become! I do need the luxury of a dog door and a six foot fence. My kidneys are not fully functional, but that doesn't hold me back from being active and my vet professional says I can have many years of love to share. I just have a special type of food and check ups with my doctor occasionally. So really that's about it. I will give you tons of love, snuggles and my silly playful self in exchange for a warm bed, my special food and a dog door with a fenced yard. Oh and I really love to go on long walks and rides in the car, too. If you want to get a little wild one day - maybe even a trip to Lowes? I’m excited about the chance to get to know you and to see if we are a good fit for each other. Paws crossed! CAT: Cat Adoption Team Adoption Event Every Saturday: Noon - 4pm at Unleashed in Landfall Shopping Center ◄I’m Victoria, a young adult Tortoiseshell, petite, almost the size of a kitten! There are two sides to my personality: I have lots of energy and love to run and play with other cats and people, almost like a rambunctious kitten; yet I also love to crawl into your lap to be petted and purr with contentment, or snuggle next to you for a quiet evening together. I am both beautiful and loveable. To meet me, call/text 910-599-2755. ♥ ►Hi there, I’m Copperfield, a 1½-year-old young adult mini black panther! I’m an amazingly sweet boy who loves head scratches, belly rubs, and sitting in your lap for a good snuggle session. I am fine with other cats and I do not even mind the big old dogs at my foster home. Did you know that black cats are often the last to be adopted? Please don't make a sweetheart like me wait any longer. ♥ ◄I’m a stunning brown/chocolate Tabby girl named Nonna. At just 10-months-old, I’m a very sweet cat who was a teenage mama to four kittens. I was an attentive mother and now I need a home of my own where I can blossom and get the attention I deserve. I am gentle and I love to be petted. I am also very playful and I would love to have a buddy, human or otherwise. ♥

◄Now that my other siblings have been adopted, I’m looking forward to having my own forever home! I’m Lilly, a 6-month-old black and white tuxedo girl with the sweetest and most gentle personality. I love to be petted and get lots of attention but honestly, how could you resist my little face with the beauty marks? ♥ ◄I’m Panda, a 3-year-old big Bobtail (actually no tail!) cat who is sweet and playful. I’m a gorgeous black and white tuxedo who likes to be petted, look out the window at the squirrels, and I’m ready to play any time with my humans or other cats. I tend to be dominant with other felines, but for the most part I’m pretty mellow and will not challenge other assertive cats. To meet me, please call or text 910-599-2755. ♥ ◄I’m Shamu, a handsome black and white 5-year-old fellow who was rescued from the mean streets. I lost one eye to injury and the vet thinks I may have been shot in the eye by a pellet gun. I’m a super-sweet, laid-back, devoted cat who loves attention, petting and being with my human. I will follow you from room to room, purr loudly when petted, and lick your hand in gratitude. I get along with the other cats at my foster home and I’m FIV/FeLV negative. If you would like to meet me, please call or text 910-599-2755. And please spread the word about me! I deserve a loving home after all I have been through! ♥

My name is OREO and I’m a Chihuahua boy who is about 2-years-old. I weigh 8 pounds and, as you can see, I’m colored just like an Oreo cookie! I have a long story, but if you stick around long enough to hear it, you’ll realize I’m truly worth it. While I’m not a social, outgoing dog and likely won’t be, I am sweet and deserving of love! I came into rescue from an irresponsible backyard breeder where I lived outdoors and had no socialization. Chihuahua Rescue and Transport had their work cut out for them, but I’ve come a long way. I still have a ways to go, but I will get there one day, with the right family to love me. I’ve been in foster care for over a year. My foster mom and dad have successfully weaned me from the corner I lived/hid in, and watched as I gradually integrated myself into the household. It’s been small, baby steps the entire way and now I freely roam the downstairs. I find the unfenced world a scary place, but I eagerly go outside in the fenced backyard, and will jump up on the couch to take a nap. My favorite places are dog beds, the blanket on the couch, or backyard in the sunshine. I am a creature of habit and do not like change. Moving to a new place will provide a new set of challenges, but with your patience and dedication paired with my desire, I will succeed. I’ve lived with the same routine for a long time and have done well with it. I am very food motivated, but also stubborn. I am still learning to accept gentle touches and would do really well with someone who has time to work with me. Each night I jump up to snuggle with my foster mom, and as simple as that sounds, that’s a really big deal! I am crate-trained and sleep in my crate at night. I get up in the morning, wag my tail and get excited for the day! As for potty-training, I teeter on the threshold of knowing that I need to go outside. But I have a spot inside where I tend to go. My foster mom leaves a pee pad there and I pee on it regularly. I am a flight risk - a large one. I am very frightful of loud sounds, new people, and need a very, very patient family. I don’t like strangers and would not be a good fit for small children. I bark at all visitors and sometimes even nip their ankles! My foster mom and dad feel I’ve come far enough to move to a dedicated forever home with folks who will successfully help me integrate and live a life of luxury. I would do best in a home with small dogs. I love to play and I do really well following the pack. I would likely not do well as a single dog. I will come to you when called, especially if treats are involved or if I know it’s meal time. Every milestone I reach is a cause for celebration. My new family should understand it will take time for me to trust, and that I will not make best friends with new people easily. I am neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on prevention. For more info, please call Pamela with Chihuahua Rescue and Transport at 480-601-0209 or email carolinascoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com. An application must be submitted and approved before a meet and greet can be scheduled. I am sponsored in loving memory of Molly, cherished family member of Rick and Pat Hairston. Molly’s favorite place was being on her mom’s lap giving kisses. She will be greatly missed.

My name is Buddy the Firedog and I’m 11-years-old and 14 pounds of sweet love. As an older gentleman, I have limited vision and hearing, but with time to get used to my home, I’m able to navigate well. I also take daily medication for my heart, but I don’t let my challenges stop me from getting lots of cuddles! I do well with respectful kids who understand how to approach a vision challenged dog, and I get along with dogs of all sizes (as long as they give me time to get used to them)! I walk well on a leash (for short walks), I do great with house-training (as long as my people let me out regularly), and I sleep through the night (like the gentleman I am)! I am neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. To know more about me or to make me part of your family, fill out the adoption application online at www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application and I’ll have my people contact you. For information, you may also call Pamela at 480-601-0209 or send an email to carolinascoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com. ♥

Hey everyone, my name is Dandelion! My mom, Honeybee, was a Pit Bull mix but we don’t know about my dad. Merit Pit Bull Foundation says that is how rescue works most of the time. I’m a very handsome 9-month-old pup and I’m looking for a good home with a family who will be patient with me. There is this thing called a pandemic going on (I don’t know what that is but I guess it’s a big thing) and I didn’t get to explore a lot of places as a puppy...so new things are hard for me. I warm up eventually to new people and to dogs but I’ll need some help and guidance. I know I can be a great family dog because I would do anything for my people. I’ve got some basic obedience training under my belt and I’m very smart. If you are a family looking for a guy like me, then reach out to Merit Pit Bull Foundation and we can see if it’s meant to be! For more info on our adoption process, application, and fees, email info@mpbf.org, visit mpbf.org, or call Merit Pit Bull Foundation at 336-618-PITT. ♥

CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE I’m Maggie and I’m looking for my furever family. I have had some behavioral problems but CBHR sent me to behavioral school and subsequently to a tutor who worked with me. My current foster dad has also worked with me and, with his help, I’ve been making great strides. My foster dad and I’ve had a long talk and he tells me that this will be a good time for my permanent home to come calling. I will do well in a home without children or other dogs or pets, and I need an established routine. I will miss my foster Dad but will look forward to my permanent home. I really want to learn and if you’ll give me the opportunity to be with you, I’ll do my best to please you. I enjoy playing with toys and when it’s time for bed, a comfortable crate is my refuge. I’ve learned to enjoy my walks with my foster dad and I no longer fear other dogs and people. My foster dad will look forward to speaking with you and sharing with you just how far I’ve come in his care. For more info, call 888-909-2387 or visit us online at www.cbhr.com. ♥

My name is Nora and I'm 14-years-old. Yes, I am an older girl, but I have much more love left to give. Just ask my foster parents. They say I am good as gold and fit as a fiddle! I am a good all-around mature gal and get around just fine. I have good energy levels and my personality is shining through. I like people, other dogs, and am good in my crate. I will even use a doggie door! These days I am happy, healthy and like attention just like my dog roommates. If you are looking for an older lady with some pep in her step, I just might be your gal. I promise to repay you with lots of affection and tail wagging. So, how ‘bout it, want to bring me home? I’d love to meet you and tell you more about myself. My bags are packed and I’m ready for my own forever home! For more information, please call Carolina Basset Hound Rescue at 888-909-2387 or visit us online at www.cbhr.com. ♥

Hello, my name is Tiger! I’m a 1½-year-old, medium-haired, brown and chocolate Tabby. I’m a beautiful boy and a very sweet cat who likes other well-mannered, quiet cats as well as dogs. I very much appreciate being petted and snuggling with my humans. Before Cat Adoption Team (CAT) took me in, I lived in a rather chaotic household with small kids who were not gentle with me. I’m therefore afraid of small kids but I should be OK with older children. When I came to CAT, I had a urinary tract infection which has since been resolved with medication; however, the vet recommends that I stay on a special diet for urinary support. To meet me, please text/call 910-599-2755, email catnc@earthlink.net or send a private message to Cat Adoption Team on Facebook. You can also come to the adoption event held every Saturday from Noon to 4pm at Unleashed in the Landfall Shopping Center in Wilmington. I can’t wait for snuggles with you! I am sponsored by ECM Corporation. Thank you!

Hi, everybody! My name is Leah (A092533) and I’m a 5-year-old Lab mix girl who is spayed. I have lots of love and lots of energy to share with an active family. We can play together and exercise during the day, then enjoy some cozy snuggles on the couch at night! My adoption fee includes a physical examination, heartworm test and rabies vaccination. Won’t you please call Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services at 910-754-8204 and make an appointment to meet me? We’ll have a great time getting to know each other when you get here. I am sponsored by Adam's Folly Pet Boarding, Bolivia, NC. Thank you!

Hi there! My name's Peppa. My foster mom named me after Peppa Pig because I have the cutest little snorts and I'm a little sassy. She also says I'm "chubby" like a pig. How rude! Foster mom also calls me an old lady, but I say I'm 7-years young! I can be pretty lazy most of the time and I love to nap. I also like the occasional waddlerun around the yard or in the living room when foster mom and dad are dancing to loud music. My ideal day is spent napping in my crate or cuddled up next to my human. I wouldn't mind a short play session with a canine buddy, as long as it doesn't get too rowdy. Got a cat? I think they're a little sketchy, but I guess I'd be all right with one around - as long as we take things slow. Like to go out on the town? I'm all for it! I love to meet new people and I always want to be where the action is. I don't know a lot of commands yet, but I've got "sit" down and I'm working on "stay." I'd love to learn some more, and I'll do anything for a treat! Now, I'm only middle-aged in dog years, but I do have a few medical needs. I have something called heartworms, but Merit Pit Bull Foundation is going to take care of those for me. I also have issues with my ears and they need to be cleaned a couple times a week. My feet also get a little itchy sometimes, but it's nothing a good foot soak can't cure. I like my foster mom and dad, but I'd really like a couch to call my own. Got some room on yours? For more info on our adoption process, application, and fees, please email info@mpbf.org, visit mpbf.org, or call 336-618-PITT. I am sponsored by Robyn Davis in loving memory of Duncan.

Hi! I’m a 4-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound and my name is Sally. A family found me and my litter of puppies on their property. They tried to take care of all of us, and they found all my puppies a home except for one. It started to get cold so Pender County Humane Society took us into their warm shelter. My pup has found a family, but you’re in luck because I’m ready to be adopted! I am a very sweet and loving girl, but I am a little nervous around new people. I’m looking for a family who understands it will take a little time for me to adjust and know that I am safe. Could that be your family? I’m spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Fresh Start Rescue, Inc. To adopt, email freshstartrescueinc@gmail.com or call 910-470-6299! ◄Hey, I’m Fin. I’m a 2-year-old male Bearded Dragon. I love food of any kind and enjoy lounging in my hammock. I’m a little skittish and will take time to warm up to new people, but with the right person and a little patience, I should make an amazing pet. ♥

◄I deserve the chance to live a long, healthy life in a forever home. My name is Cinnamon and I’m a very sweet female Red Tail Boa. I am about 6-feet long and have a little scarring on my face from my previous life. I will happily eat a large/XL frozen/ thawed rat. ♥ ►I’m a little Golden Gecko who came in with some other leopard geckos. My previous owners said we were all over 10-years-old but they didn’t fully complete the surrender sheet on us. I have not been sexed or handled very much yet. I’m very quick and prefer to be left alone. I have not been aggressive at all. You must have experience with my type of gecko to be considered a candidate for my adoption. ♥

►My name is Burlap and I was brought to Fresh Start all the way from the Charlotte area. My former owner took good care of me and I’m easily handled. I’m used to free roaming, which can be done only if you give me my own room with proper heat, humidity, and basking areas. If in an enclosure, I require a comfy hammock! ♥

◄My name is Ruby and I’m a feisty female Corn Snake who was surrendered when my owner went off to college. I am around 10-years-old and have laid eggs in the past (not bred on purpose). I need a bit of work with handling but eat well. I would do better with an experienced snake parent. ♥

◄I’m a little Baby Iguana who was ordered online and surrendered 3 days later. I’m way too young to tell my sex - I’m little more than a hatchling. I still need time for taming but it’s not hard to get your hands on me and I’m ok once you do. I eat well and I can start off in a smaller enclosure but I’m going to get very large just like all the other iguanas. ♥ ◄I’m little Red Tail Boa who is a spitfire! I am unsexed and was originally housed with another Boa. I was surrendered to Fresh Start when my owner realized that wasn't a good idea. I need a lot of work with handling. I eat well but only if you leave it in the enclosure with me. ♥

►My name is Mr. Sleevies and I should be a little boy (unconfirmed as of right now). I eat very well on small or medium frozen/thawed rats. I’m still settling in but don't seem to mind the volunteers reaching in to take care of my enclosure. ♥
