Kadampa Meditation Center New York

FALL ~ 2011

Our Founder & Spiritual Guide The Founder of the NKT-IKBU, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, is a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned author and teacher of Buddhism. In response to an invitation to teach in England in 1977, Geshe Kelsang—or Geshe-la, as he is affectionately called by his students—left Tibet and took up residence in the West, where he has lived since, working tirelessly to spread Buddha’s teachings throughout the world. He is primarily responsible for the revival of Kadampa Buddhism in our time.
