Following on from the worldwide success of Michael Morpurgo’s best-selling novel, film and stage play War Horse, Simon Reade adapts and directs a stage version of Morpurgo’s award-winning novel, Private Peaceful. The play highlights the dreadful horrors of war while celebrating the joyfulness of life, both which are clearly bound together in this not-to-missed, magnificent one-man theatre production. Private Tommo Peaceful reminisces about his youth growing up in rural Devon, falling in love with his childhood friend Molly and addresses the cruel injustices of war that have led him to the battle fields. The story is a timely reminder of the heroic sacrifices made by those involved in World War I. Love, loss, war and courage are all explored before the poignant tale’s dramatic and heart-breaking conclusion. 11

“…a downright joyous celebration of theatre” The Guardian “fresh, funny, poignant and thought-provoking” The Daily Telegraph “a treasure…Immaculate, moving, funny, wise” The Times

Multi-award-winning playwright and performer Tim Crouch re-imagines Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night in this, his brilliantly, hilarious one-man show. I, Malvolio is the fourth of Tim Crouch’s solo Shakespeare plays for young audiences and is told from the loser’s perspective, creating a story of lost dignity, prudery, practical jokes and bullying – a story for anyone who has ever been told off, called a name, or fallen in love with the wrong person. Malvolio (Crouch) draws his audience into the madness of Shakespeare’s play and makes it his own; a charged and often unsettling rant from a man ‘notoriously wronged’, a man adrift in front of mocking spectators.
