BA (Hons.) GRAPHIC DESIGN
DESIGN PRACTICE 3
Illustrate a small range of t-shirt designs for a small male fashion boutique such as Paper, Scissor, Stone in Leeds. Range of illustrations would have a theme to make the ‘collection’ work as a series of designs.
Consideration of current trends would be very relevant. Exploration of unusual and eye-catching imagery through practical design development would be very useful. This would be very practically driven with a lot of freedom.
Concept/Proposition The illustrations must work across a theme or as a set. This will make the range of t-shirts work as a collection, or set. Background
Boutique fashion has always been popular. Situating itself at the higher priced spectrum of the casual fashion market, it specialises in limited edition fashion, which regularly involves collaboration with designers.
A small series of illustrated t-shirts presented as if they were proposals to the client.
Generally, the young and trendy. A specific audience of males ranging between and around 18-35 years of age.

Tone of Voice
There is certainly not room for too much sincerity here. The ‘young and trendy’ want to be seen as outgoing and fun with a touch of quirk. This would call for fun and noticeable imagery.
