adidas Multi-media graduate recruitment campaign My role included Concepts, Art Direction & Design This graduate recruitment work for adidas was to attract highly motivated individuals with values that matched that of adidas. I was heavily involved in designing the look book, which was distributed at recruitment fairs. The design used adidas supplied imagery but also required us to generate some of our own. Much of this content was re-purposed into an iPhone app which included video tours, job descriptions and the ability to apply online. Additional advertising materials included exhibition stands, posters and z-cards. Awards: RBA Nomination 2011 Best Creative Recruitment Literature

BskyB Call centre & graduate recruitment My role included Art Direction & Design Working on the Sky account meant ensuring brand guidelines were interpreted and implemented on a vast range of projects. I worked on both the call centre and graduate recruitment campaigns, producing visuals, which were an extension of Sky’s successful product campaigns. The graduate project allowed me to get involved in producing some video content to go within an eMagazine, which has now become a stand alone website. This project involved art directing both a photography shoot and a video shoot down at Sky’s London studios. Other marketing materials included exhibition stands, leaflets, posters and outdoor advertising. www.skycustomercentres.com www.skygraduates.com

Subaru Product advertising & direct mail My role included Concepts & Art Direction Working on the full range of Subaru vehicles was a great opportunity. By far the most prestigious was the Subaru Impreza. In addition to producing these press ads my copywriter and I also came up with the idea of doing a direct mail invite to a race day at Donnington in the style of an airline boarding pass.

Next Recruitment website

My role included Concepts & Art Direction I worked on the Next account for six years working on all areas of their recruitment website. The site is broken down into five strands, all-appealing to very different audiences from warehousing to head office. My most recent contribution was to art direct the ‘Life as a Merchandiser’ video, from initial storyboarding to the shoot and final edit. www.careers.next.co.uk Awards: DADI Winner 2009 Best Recruitment website RBA Winner 2009 Best Recruitment Website

CIRCLE OF TRUST

My role included Concepts, Art Direction & Design The Circle, a simple but effective concept to help recruit new employees by encouraging and rewarding current employees to recommend friends. The circle of trust campaign was designed to make employees think twice about who they referred as that referral would reflect on them and their judgement. In the interests of avoiding any image rights issues we produced a consistent caricature style of the celebrities, which worked a treat.

experience. My journey within advertising and design has taken me far and wide. After graduating in 1997 I did work experience placements in London and Manchester before securing my first permanent role at CWG in Leeds. One of the highlights of my time there was producing a TV commercial to launch the alcopop Red Sq. This involved filming for a week out in Ibiza, a tough job but someone had to do it! After a couple of years at CWG I moved to Wallis Tomlinson in Birmingham. A truly progressive ad agency with the emphasis on creative. During my time there I managed to win no fewer than 10 creative awards. This was followed by a period freelancing before trying my hand at recruitment advertising at Barkers Birmingham. This transition from product to recruitment advertising eventually led me to Manchester and SMRS. At SMRS I worked alongside the Creative Director in establishing a creative and production team. After a couple of years I was elevated to the role Head of Design which included staff management responsibilities as well as overseeing the agencies overall creative output. I am now looking to put all that experience into going solo from my current base in West Yorkshire.

Clients:

Thanks to my experience within product and recruitment marketing I have been exposed to a diverse range of blue-chip clients. They include adidas, Birmingham City Council, Boots, Britvic, BSkyB, Bucks New University, HSBC, Manchester Business School, Morrisons, National Express, Next, Red Sq, Subaru and many others.

Awards:

Throughout my career I have produced a number of award winning pieces of work. These awards have been won across multi-disciplines and across both product and recruitment marketing sectors. These include multiple Roses, Cream, RBA, RAD and DADI awards.
